So why isn't the Mojave overrun by Deathclaws?

Seriously what's stopping Deathclaws in Quarry junction from going a bit down the road and having a feast at NCRCF and Goodsprings?

Pre-war America was messed up and corrupt, but did anyone care?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:57 PM PDT

I was recently thinking about what the Sole Survivor's reaction to the terminals and holotapes that expose pre-war society's corruption would be. Would they be shocked, or would they be more unsurpised because of an already jaded or even distrustful out look.

As far as I can tell the only time that the Sole Survivor commented on what pre-war life was like is when you talk to Daisy in Goodneighbor. Even then every answer is kind of vague.

This eventually led me to wonder how well know this corruption was in general society. How often was corruption exposed? Was everyone ignorant to the shady things corporations and the government where doing? Or was society full of distrustful people and conspiracy theorist?

Why did Mr. House put missiles in the Securitrons when they can't use them?

After upgrading the Securitrons at the Fort, they now use missiles, grenades and have more armour. Why did he put those in the Securitrons if they couldn't use them without the Chip?

Fallout 3 and 76 Lore Inconsistency

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 01:24 AM PDT

So, as I was just playing Fallout 3 today, I found that the terminal in the Citadel's archives lists different vaults, one being vault 76. In the goal summary for the vault, it says it will open 20 years after it closes. It also states in the terminal's information for the vault, the duration of use was indeed 240 months, or 20 years. Yet in Fallout 76, the vault opened 25 years after it closed. Was there ever anything said about it being delayed for 5 years, or did Bethesda just forget about their previously constructed lore?

I'm aware this is very minor, but I was still interested in figuring this out.

What was pre-war Covenant supposed to be?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 01:46 PM PDT

Yes, Covenant is a strange place. There's the shady thing going on with synths, but I don't remember seeing any explanation on why (or how) covenant looks so intact. So I guess everything there was built post-war?

A lot of people might say it was just a small pre-war neighborhood that just suffered heavy maintenance but there are some elements that are very odd, to say at least.

First, despite being close to a road, the houses are arranged in a different pattern, as there are no roads leading inside the community, as far as I remember, there's no other houses in the Commonwealth arranged this way.

Second, the walls and the sign. We are induced to believe that the walls were buit after the war, when it started being used as a settlement. But the fact is that the walls are too perfect for the fallout standards. Also, signs used in the wastelands usually are handmade, recycled ones (one notable expection is the neon lights in FNV). So it's safe to assume that the sign, at least, was there before the war.

Third, the houses themselves. There's not a single bathroom, restroom or toilet to be seem. Not even slight indications that there was a place inside the house for them. Okay, this must be a development oversight as many other pre-war houses in the commonwealth suffer from the same problem (or there's a reason for it? Probably another post to discuss).

Seriously talking, the houses appear to be consisted of just a single bedroom. There's no area for a kitchen or a living room. Other pre war houses, despite not having the bathroom at least have some areas that clearly were kitchens.

In my head, everything indicates that Covenant was, at least, some kind of hotel or inn, but I don't remember seeing any in-game indications of it. Is there anything about it?
