What quests do you all hate replaying the most every time you go to replay a fallout game?

For me it's the Jefferson memorial mission with dad and the basement in fallout 3, all of the of kings missions in fallout new Vegas, and the whole Fort Hagen fight in fallout 4.

These missions were cool the first time I played them for sure but I find myself wanting to skip them (I know you can skip the kings missions in NV) every time.

76 - I genuinely feel bad when I accidentally bump into a petrified corpse.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:29 PM PDT

How you died flat out sucks and the fact that my stumbling ass bumped into you, turning you into an unnamed pile of ash, tugs at my fucking heart strings. I am so sorry.

What do you think happened to US soldiers in China?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:13 PM PDT

New Vegas tells us there were US troops in Nanjing and Shanghai, almost certainly still there by the time of the Great War. The FO4 newcsaster says the "5th infantry" are fighting the Chinese in the Philippines. I didn't put this in r/falloutlore since there is no lore, just speculation. What do you think happened to them?

Why is there a lack of gambling in the newer Fallout games? Would you all want to see more gambling type mini-games?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:15 PM PDT

Where theres alcohol, money, and people of questionable morals, theres a whole lot of gambling and Fallout has plenty of the first 3. I understand why New Vegas has it, its literally vegas, but what about Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76? I know i would love to play a high stakes poker game of questionable legality in the back of Rivet City, and Goodneighbor! its the Perfect place for questionable card games with questionable people! Would yall like to see more of these kinds of mini-games in the next Fallout title? or maybe in an update to Fallout 76?

[Fo4] Found a hoard of Location Beacons on roof of The Sanctuary Red Rocket. I feel threatened now.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:20 PM PDT

Reddit's not letting me add an image so text will have to do. I found over 20 location beacons (those green antenna packs that look like stealth boys) seemingly corresponding to all locations I have visited through my playthrough, just laying around on the roof of the Red Rocket. There are locations from the mainland, Far harbor, even those from the Automatron dlc. Is this supposed to happen in the vanilla game? Can a mod cause this?

I mean it's nothing gamebreaking, but now I feel threatened that some nebulous Beacon pincher is following me around the Commonwealth. Its kinda ominous. I'm starting a settlement there. What are the odds that my settlers will get possessed?

    Edit: image

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 02:58 AM PDT

Dont you think that its wierd that in speedrunnig fallout 3 you can coms straight out of the vault and go to vault 112 skipping the GNR and rivit city quests nut in fallout 4 you cant go straight to Vergil's cave in the glowing sea till you've completed the quests that lead you there

What are your favorite and least favorite vaults?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:49 PM PDT

My favorite would have to be Vault 11 from FNV. Sometimes I can get bored when going through the vaults, but I find the backstory and design of Vault 11 to be so interesting. My least favorite has to be Vault 22 tho. Something about it just annoys me so much idk

Why does dead money get so much hate?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:27 PM PDT

I often see people on this subreddit complain about how The Dead Money dlc for Fallout new Vegas is bad. But I just don't see how. The story is very interesting in my opinion, the atmosphere of the dlc is very spooky and mysterious and the quest aren't that bad. Can someone explain?

    Does Fallout 76 offer lore?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 02:55 AM PDT

One of the things I like so much about the Fallout series is the lore it has. I've tried to get into Fallout 1, but that's a hard game to get into. I did managed to play Fallout 2 though, and I really do love the game despite some flaws. The first Fallout game I ever played was Fallout 3, and then Fallout New Vegas. Then finally, last, Fallout 4, and then some Fallout 76 a tiny tiny bit.

I never could get into Fallout 4 that much though, because for the most part it doesn't really feel that important to the extent of Fallout lore. Nothing really feels all that accomplished. As for Fallout 76, well, I remember a lot of the hate it got. But really what put me off from Fallout 76 was how silly and how little it took itself seriously, just like Fallout 4. That, plus it takes place far far before any of the Fallout games in the series, and doesn't really have anything to do with the events of any of the other Fallout games. Now, I could be wrong about this, but I really do want to know if there's anything people would consider lore relevant inside of Fallout 76? Or is the game too disconnected to really matter at all?

Fallout Shelter should be more sinister than it is.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:46 PM PDT

I think it would be much more exciting to have a game where I run a vault by conducting barbaric scientific experiments on the vault dwellers just like they did in the lore for the main games.

Kinda like Plague Inc. but with a vault instead of the world, and instead of the goal of killing everyone, you just have fun introducing strange aspects to the dwellers everyday lives and see how long you can go before people start to notice and revolt.

I don't get the hate for Fallout 4?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:16 AM PDT

im not trying to be edgy by having another opinion but to me its actually a pretty good game im not gonna lie, i don't get why people say its really shit?

i dont know if its just because ive only experienced video games for 2 years on PC but to me its actually a pretty great game.

so why do people find fallout 4 a bad game?

The Best Fallout 4 Experience I Can Get!

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:51 PM PDT

Hey Vault Dwellers! I picked up Fallout 4 GOTY Edition recently. I played the base game back at release and loved it. Now I'm replaying it and have all the dlc which will be fun itself. I want to know though, are there any random discoveries or side quests I should go out of my way to find so I don't miss them?

Fallout 4 - Mankind Redefined Bug

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 02:25 AM PDT

Father glitched on the roof, so I had to talk to him again. He went to the meeting, but kept repeating to wait until after the meeting. No one would say a different line, the directorate would say the same thing. I tried talking to Li to finish the BOS mission but the meeting would start, anyone know how to fix it on PS5? I don't have a save before taking the mission.

[FO4] What is a good place to get some good armor?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 12:05 AM PDT

I am new to FO4 and I am struggling to find anyone who is selling some decent armor which isn't over 1000 caps. Does anyone know a good place to find a merchant with cheap armor?

I am lvl 8 and I have some shitty raider armor that gets me killed in 2 hits by a rabid radstag.

    Thanks.

    F:NW not loading save files

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 02:07 AM PDT

I have purchased Fallout: New Vegas during the Steam Summer Sales and, as of now, my play time is slightly under 17 hours. I reached a point in the game where I entered Freeside. However, apparently my load files have been corrupted. In other words, I can turn on and lunch the game but, whenever I load from the autosaved checkpoint or even from the manually saved point, it takes forever to load (to a point that it does not load at all) when previously it took under a minute to do so. Therefore, I would like to know if anyone has a solution to my problem, especially if it does not involve starting a new campaign.

    Favorite weird/obscure fallout Easter egg/reference

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 01:46 AM PDT

I've gone back to 76 in the last month and have been having a lot of fun just exploring the absolutely enormous map, looking for things I might have missed. I found a really obscure reference to the movie Throw Momma From the Train that might be my favorite reference of all time and it got me to thinking. What is your favorite obscure or weird reference that you've ever found in a fallout game?

Why didn't the Institute reclaim Valentine?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:18 PM PDT

As the title says, over the decades Nick Valentine was a free synth, why didn't the institute reclaim him? I don't even think they tried to reclaim him, I'm assuming this because I haven't heard anything otherwise. Obviously in the immediate period after Nick's escape they had no means to reclaim synths since he was one of two prototypes made, and after that they would have been in no rush to recapture him since he possessed no sensitive info, but it doesn't really make sense that by the time they had an abundance of coursers, and even Gen 1 and Gen 2 synths, they wouldn't try to recapture one of two prototypes made. Even if that wasn't enough to spark a reclamation operation, by the time Nick became a well known detective and began actively investigating Institute operations it would have made sense that he would've gone to the top of the SRB's hit list.

    Thanks

What if Vault-Tec actually did what it was supposed to do?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 04:08 PM PDT

Actually saving the American population from nuclear armageddon instead of filling almost all of their vaults with experiments that were harmful to its inhabitants. Seeing how vault city went would the wasteland be somewhat more rebuilt than what we see in the games? I'd like to see your guy's thoughts on this.

    Cars in future Fallout games

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:09 PM PDT

I finished Fallout 2 for the first time recently and I actually enjoyed the inclusion of the car (particularly the music that plays while you're driving it) and I got to wondering if they'd ever be included again. How would you guys feel about cars/motorcycles in future titles?
