Would give an arm and a leg to play Fallout 4 for the first time again Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:31 AM PDT TW: drugs. The first time I played fallout 4, my husband had just bought me an Xbox after I had surgery done and was on strict bed rest. I spent a whole week playin while high on Oxy (prescribed after the surgery) lol Just thinking about it is so nostalgic! I always played with the radio on, the soundtrack is so good, all the excitement of deciding witch faction to join, doing all the little side quests because I didn't know which ones where important or not, not knowing the end of the story... it was just amazing. I was so caught up on the side quests and the indecision on such faction to join that my Character was level 50 before I went to diamond city! I had so many perks, weapons, caps, armors, SPECIAL points... so much fun!! Since then I played the game again 2 or 3 times, but nothing compares to that feeling I had playing it for the first time. Fallout 3 "Exiting the Vault" concept art animatic Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:54 AM PDT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6dPBdCADOo I came across the incredible concept art storyboards for Fallout 3 by Adam Adamowicz for the sequence where you leave Vault 101 for the first time. While the in-game sequence we got was really cool as well and is a fond memory for most people who have played the game, the concept art scenes had an extremely sombre and isolating vibe that was toned down in the final product. I wanted to bring the storyboards to life in some way, so here's this! [link] [comments] |
(Fallout 4) Help! I can’t jump! Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:47 AM PDT This happened the other night and I blew it off and it's still not letting me jump after getting on today. I can't jump in or out of my power armor and I'm not carrying too much. How do I fix this? [link] [comments] |
Some thoughts on the karma system from FO3 Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:40 AM PDT I finished FO3 for the first time yesterday and there is one matter that was a huge letdown in my opinion, which is the karma system. I'm a person that likes to explore everything in a game, and understand the lore the most I can. In this case, it's a Fallout game. So, going to terminals and picking locks is basically a must if I want to read about the lore of a character or space. And that's where my problem with the karma system is. Why on earth, would me hacking a terminal or picking a lock be condemmed "evil" or "bad" by the game, if no one was watching me doing it in the first place? Another thing, from a game design standpoint, why would you give lore to a world and then "punish" the player for trying to access all of it (or at least most of it)? Like, I'm standing one terminal away from reading some (hopefully) good story, but I can't do it cause it affects my karma for some reason, which is problematic if I'm trying to follow a "good" playthrough. And yes, I could always reload the game to a previous save, but that gets annoying really quickly. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Apr 2021 07:44 AM PDT Why do you like Fallout? A simple question really, but one with many different answers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Apr 2021 03:39 PM PDT One of my favorite aspects of these games is the fact that they have so many tiny details - whether it be locations, quests, lore, etc - and it's near impossible to find them all in a single playthrough. I'm just a huge fan of the map design in the fallout games, esp fo4, so wondering if anyone has found something that I haven't. [link] [comments] |

What's your favorite side quest in fallout 4? ( DLC included) Posted: 12 Apr 2021 01:49 AM PDT I really loved the quests of Oswald, The toymaker, project cobalt, Maccready quest and Cait, vault 81,75 and 95 and more! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Apr 2021 01:46 AM PDT So I'm finally playing again, and this whole one system thing is annoying, like i'm wondering if I can have the same save on multiple devices [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Apr 2021 10:57 AM PDT Remember your first time exiting the vault, walking into Dimond city, first weapon, walking down a old road with the piano playing in the background, and finally that feeling after completing it all that feeling of joy and sadness, I miss that constant curiosity feeling and joy. Moon DLC where you fight aliens Posted: 11 Apr 2021 07:22 PM PDT What if you're an astronaut on the moon and the Great War begins stranding you. You have to fight off aliens and ultimately try to either get back to earth or build a base on the moon. [link] [comments] |
Every suit of Power Armor is always T-45 no matter what my level is Posted: 11 Apr 2021 08:21 PM PDT I am extremely confused. I am way past the level requirement for T-60 and X-01 suits, but the only thing I find are T-45s. I generally refrain from travelling near the cells in central and southern commonwealth specifically because I've played the game enough to know where most of the suits are. In previous playthroughs this was never an issue, ever. I'd find maybe one or two T-45s, and one or two T-51s, and that was okay. Then I'd find an overwhelming amount of T-60s and a few X-01s, and I loved lining them all up side by side in a warehouse. Vanilla spawns of T-60s are at level 23, so I usually don't start seriously exploring until I hit that level. Unfortunately, last playthrough and this one, I had this issue where I either find a full suit of T-45, or X-01s. Never anything in between. Something is going wrong and I have no idea what it is. At one point I had a mod called "Power Armor Level Rebalance" which I suspected was the cause - so I uninstalled it before my previous playthrough, resetting the levelled lists back to vanilla, and yet I still run into the same issue. Another solution was to use the console command "recycleactor" but that doesn't seem to work either. Its like the suits are all bound to level 1 spawns or something... I am very confused at this point. I'm halfway tempted to go and try and make a mod myself, which forces certain suits to spawn certain armor pieces regardless of level, just to avoid this problem, because I cannot for the life of me figure out a solution. I have resorted to using the console to forcibly spawn in the power armor that is correct for my current level/location. (Only some locations spawn X-01s). I should not be running into t-45 suits at level 83. This is ridiculous. [link] [comments] |
Honest Hearts doesn’t work Part 1 Posted: 11 Apr 2021 09:20 PM PDT We have great love for New Vegas on here so I think it's time we discuss some of its flaws. I was inspired by this post to write my own critique. Specifically, I'd like to talk about Honest Hearts. This is the biggest problem area in New Vegas for me and I'd like to explain why I don't think it works. Over the next few days, I'll be posting this critique and hopefully generate discussion. This will be controversial and many people will disagree but these are my thoughts. Part 1: Let's start with the problem of quest design. Most quests in the game present multiple solutions. Beyond the Beef is a great example. Per the Fallout wiki, you can: Help return Heck Gunderson's son to him alive, curing the White Glove Society of cannibalism in the process. Help return Heck Gunderson's son to him alive and help Mortimer return the White Glove Society to cannibalism by killing one of your human companions or a man named Carlyle St. Clair III. Kill and cook Heck Gunderson's son, blame his father for the murder, and help the White Glove Society return to cannibalism. Kill every White Glove member you see on the way to Ted and lead him out alive. That's four unique ways to resolve the quest. While not every quest in the game is this complex, at least for the main quest and major side quests, there's usually at least three different ways to reach a resolution. The central choice in Honest Hearts however boils down to fleeing in the face of unprovoked aggression (Daniel's way) or waging a war of extermination (Joshua's way) two really shitty options with no real middle ground. Every game has to place limits on player agency, but those limits have to be believable without feeling arbitrary. If I can convince the NCR and Brotherhood of Steel to work together, why can't I at least broker a truce with the White Legs? This also ties into the problem of failing to utilize the faction mechanic. In Dead Money and Lonesome Road, the faction mechanic is used to good effect in the final confrontation between Elijah and Ulysses respectively. You see how the events in the Mojave motivate the antagonists and you can use your reputation with the factions to gain their favor or ire, but this isn't the case in Honest Hearts. Salt Upon Wounds is just a random mook, not a fleshed out character. If I was a Legion aligned Courier, why can't I say, team up with the White Legs to destroy the New Canaanites? This omission makes Honest Hearts feel divorced from the events in the Mojave in a way the other DLCs do not. Old World Blues also felt like this, but it had a believable reason for being divorced from the game (the Think Tank having their memories wiped and having no knowledge of the Mojave until you came along). There's no reason my faction reputation shouldn't influence the outcome in Zion. All this makes Honest Hearts feel more like a Bethesda theme park than a fleshed out world like the rest of New Vegas. In part 2, I'm going to go over some problems with setting. [link] [comments] |

How is the 0kb bug acceptable in this day and age?! It drives me mad Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:05 AM PDT That bug makes Fallout 4 or Skyrim UNPLAYABLE on PS4 and I cannot accept that PAID content breaks the game! And even worse: apparently that stupid bug also appears on PS5! The Sony support told me back in december that they are working on a fix but they don't know if it also happens on PS5. If you encounter the 0kb bug in Skyrim or Fallout 4, please tell the support and put some pressure on Sony so they can finally fix it! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 12 Apr 2021 02:34 AM PDT I have a lot of stuff in my workbench in the red rocket and my workbench is also well defended. But for example my cooking station is outside not defended. But i can enter my workbench items from my cooking station, so does that mean that for example if raiders attack my place that they can get to my workbench items from for example the cooking station or doesnt it work like that?
