How does power armor prevent fall damage? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 07:43 AM PDT My partner doesn't play but she likes hearing me talk about the lore, and I was telling her why power armor is advantageous (jet pack/fall damage). She brought up that in Driver's Ed, they say even if you don't hit anything, if you stop suddenly and you're wearing a seatbelt, your organs can still crash into your bones. It seems that would be an issue when jumping off a building. Like even if your body is cushioned, your organs are still moving around in there. Does the lore address this? [link] [comments] |
Since Ghouls absorb radiation to heal: Could Ghouls theoretically cleanse an area of radiation? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 09:17 PM PDT I'm not talking about them trying to clean Chernobyl, but if you have a standard room; kitchen, bed room or a living room. Let's say I put a standard drinking cup of Gamma/Beta/Atomic radiation in that room; or irradiated water or radioactive sludge or ground dirt from the glowing sea, and I then put 10 hurt ghouls in that room. Could the ghouls absorb that radiation from that room and "decontaminate" that area? [link] [comments] |
Why does Liberty Prime show such inferior AI compared to anything but Protectrons? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 11:31 AM PDT All that looks more like pre programmed messages rather than actual thinking like in Mister Handy(the better ones) and similar robots. [link] [comments] |
How much information can we find about Nate and Nora's life before the game? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 04:55 PM PDT As far as I can tell, they both went to college and Nora got her law degree (both reference time there, also what did Nate study?) and possibly met and started dating there. Then I guess they dated for a while and married. Nate joined the army and went on his tours of duty while Nora worked as a lawyer. Nate left the army and they bought the house in Sanctuary Hills (or maybe they bought it before Nate left?). They probably didn't wait long to have Shaun afterwards and bought Codsworth to help. Shaun is mentioned to be less than a year old in the intro, and, assuming they bought the house after Nate returned home and adding 9 months for the pregnancy, means they only lived there for 18ish months before the bombs. A few things I can't quite fit in my timeline though: In the "Hi Honey!" Holotype, Nate/Nora mentions "dusting off the law degree", implying she hasn't worked as a lawyer in quite some time. To me this means possibly years, but maybe they mean since Shaun was born? Did Nate go to college too? He mentions it in dialogue but it was "Sarcastic" dialogue so he might be joking. What did he study or do before joining the military? There's also the obvious "how does Nora seem have the same firearms experience as Nate"?. Besides obvious gameplay reasons. Maybe Nate was teaching her? (I think this one is purely a design decision and can't be explained very well lore-wise) Any other details I missed or theories of your own? I'd love to discuss because I'm fascinated for some reason. [link] [comments] |
Does Nick ever mention any thoughts on eventually becoming a gen 3 synth? Or even wanting to? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 07:35 PM PDT Out of curiosity, does Nick ever bring up if he'd like to become a humanoid synth? I can see it going either way: the residents of DC trust him because he's obviously robotic and it differentiates him from pre-war Nick. On the other hand, he clearly struggles with dysmorphia and his synthhood (and of course the things that come with it, like literally being thrown out like garbage and considered inferior), as well as missing humanoid aspects of life he, having a human's brain and memories, would expect to experience, so I can see it also being appealing him. But I've never seen any dialogue or anything regarding it, at least that I remember. I imagine Far Harbor could answer that, but I haven't played it yet and am avoiding spoilers, so I apologies if FH reveals this and I just haven't seen it yet. [link] [comments] |
Why aren’t there any covered wagons in the wasteland? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 10:46 AM PDT I know there's Brahmin carts in either fallout 1 or 2 but how come no one has ever made or used in a covered in the newer games? [link] [comments] |
Do the Children of Atom have a position on supermutants? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 02:52 AM PDT If a fairly well-behaved supermutant wanted to join the Children of the Atom, would they be welcome? I don't recall any mention of supermutants in CotA dialogue. [link] [comments] |
