    Practical Consolidation of the Mojave

Congratulations, Courier! With your assistance, your contractor Mr. House has just taken control of New Vegas and thr Mojave region following the mutual defeat/withdrawal of the Legion and NCR. As you've already proven yourself a competent agent and liason with current tenants of his new property, he's asked you to assemble an adversary report on the minor factions and settlements of the region (assume as many have survived the Battle for the Dam as you like, save the Brotherhood) to answer the following questions

-Do any possess useful skills in establishing a technology and manufacturing base in my territory? If so, what would it require to convince them to enter my employment setting up the required facilities or training the proper staff.

-Since the Omertas betrayed me, I require a replacement to take up management of their part of The Strip. What community could be given such a position... and make sure they can fill some "Old Vegas" theme.

-With the withdrawal of NCR and Legion forces, I've obtained several defensible positions for settlement. Who should I place in charge of filling them, and are there known groups from outside my immediate control who might be incentived to migrate in?

-Are there any NCR businesses/factions whod be interested in a partnership with/moving their headquarters to the Free Economic Zone? Ideally those with trading or production interests.

Paladin Danse makes mention in FO4 that two other brotherhood scout teams were sent to the commonwealth. While in Rivet City in FO3 androids or I guess “synths” were made to believe that most people don’t make it to the commonwealth- as it is a highly dangerous area.

Are these two teams documented anywhere else?

Where does the NCR get their regular Trooper armor from?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:49 AM PST

I always assumed it was just reused US army armor, but in Fo4 its shown that they wore combat armor instead. If its not just refurbished from the US army, where does it come from? Do they have factories or similar that produces them?

Does the Eastern brootherhood of steel have any factories?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:15 PM PST

Like the title says: Did the eastern Bos conquer any factories from the Enclave? Are they able to produce ammunition, vertibirds and power armor? The last two productions in particular would be very impressive because not even the Ncr is able to pull THIS off ...

Was the area of California referred to as "New California" before the formation of the NCR or after?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 09:13 PM PST

I see a lot of conflicting information regarding this especially with the brotherhood being in 76.

Do Vault Dwellers consider themselves American Citizens?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 01:44 PM PST

I started played Fallout New Vegas recently and met the Boomers and explored most of the Vaults. I noticed the classroom in Vault 11 had an American flag and I started thinking whether Vault Dwellers and by extension descendants of Vault Dwellers consider themselves American.

    The Legion's knowledge of Latin

    Posted: 13 Feb 2021 01:21 AM PST

I've seen many people assume that most Legion soldiers don't even know much Latin besides a few words and phrases that they don't know the mean

I believe this to be untrue due to the fact Edward Swallow's is both an anthropologist and linguist (His original mission from the Followers was to record Tribal language's and customs) and his goal is to create "a single homogenous cultural identity" and how better to do that than to use language which is correlated strongly to a sense of identity and belonging and Latin relatively speaking isn't a terribly hard language to learn. So giving the legion Latin as its own language is a good way of giving them a distinguished identity from "profligates". You also only ever see the Legion and how it operates from the point of view of an outsider and never quite see how Legion soldier interact with each other on a Personal level.

We need proof to suggest this theory though and proof I shall lay out what I think constitutes somewhat adequate or cursory proof of this theory.

First of all the Legion have the Latin phrases Pax Per Bellum printed on an Aureus and Magnum chasma printed on a Denarius but this doesn't really prove much since there is Latin also on the US dollar.

A failed speech check with Canyon Runner when trying to get a discount on slaves.

[Below 50 Speech] Courier: "But the girl is sick. With classic symptoms of Vagina Dentata"

Canyon Runner: "I think my Latin is better than yours and I expected the captures myself and there was no Dentata."

    ---

If the player character chooses the Intelligence option to pose as an agent of the Legion in the quest Silus Treatment, a few Latin phrases will appear in the dialogue choices.

    "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes"

    "Corruptio optimi pessima"

    "Legum servi sumus"

Each of these phrases have their own individual meaning and I feel this suggests that that he has an understanding of what the Courier is saying.

There are two interpretations we can make of this one of them being that Latin is used by the Legion as a second language.

Another is that Latin is a language solely used among high ranking officials in the Legion like Greek was used by many historical Roman Elite seeing as how Silus is a Centurion and I believe Canyon Runner to be a Legion Veteran.

If anyone else has anything to add to this Discussion please let me know.

Was it as bombed as badly as the US ?

What do you think is happening there in the current post war world?

Would the NCR ban gambling, prostitution and drug dealing on The Strip if it succeeded in annexing it?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 05:30 AM PST

I feel they would probably ban the latter two but keep gambling, but I was wondering if there was any precedent to this considering New Reno is under their control.

What did the Courier take to the Divide and why did the Enclave have it in Navarro?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 09:19 AM PST

I know the Courier took a machine to the Divide that blew it up, but what was its purpose? To self destruct the nukes? And another question: why did the Enclave have a device that trigger the explosion in the first place?

While I was exploring camp Mccaren I found a bunch of troopers with prewar army helmets. Why is that?
