Can we trust that Fusion Cores are actually using Fusion to generate power? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 01:07 PM PST It hit me a little while ago that Mass Fusion is the company that makes the notorious Fusion Cores, but they didn't actually achieve proper fusion until the 30th of july 2077 using the Beryllium agitator that we get our hands on in Fallout 4, and many of their "Fusion Generators" that they have set up in Boston are actually using plutonium to produce a fission reaction instead. They literally have a "Containment Shed" that they use for illegal dumping of radioactive waste from these not-fusion reactors, and they killed a "Hazardous Material Inspector" the day before the war becuase he caught wind of what they were actually doing at the shed:
On top of this the Fusion Distrubution Boxes that they have installed in people hones all over Boston are literally lead shielded and still cause symptons that are consistent with radiation poisoning, this terminal entry can be found in the Mass Fusion Building in Fallout 4:
The only references i can find to the Fusion Core and Power armor comes from the Fallout Bible, which we all know to be non-canon as confirmed by both Bethesda and Chris Avellone on separate occations This is the quote from the bible for those wondering:
This means that the only confirmed Fusion that was made in America are the Microfusion cells, and we have no idea who even invented them and or manufactured them, the MF breeder, the Institute reactor that they needed the Beryllium Agitator to get online, the reactor in the Mass Fusion Building where you find the agitator and the power system for Liberty Prime Or is there something i am missing? EDIT: The only thing i can't explain if Fusion cores are actually Fission Cores is where all of the nuclear waste goes. Could it be that the core has a separate chamber for the waste? We simply do not know. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jan 2021 04:51 AM PST In this case the scribe being the one who completed Dead Money and has a few of those + good supply of chips to figure how it all works. I would like to know if a new blueprint could be uploaded for various items that could fit into the machine, like pip boys, sidearms, fusion cores, implants and other advanced technology. Bonus Question: What about making a new one that doesn't look retro and is industrial sized, capable of making robots, power armors, heavy weapons, and other big things. Thank you for your help and happy new year. [link] [comments] |
Feral ghouls described in game Posted: 01 Jan 2021 04:46 PM PST How are feral ghoul attacks described in game? Have they been told to rip apart corpses or eat them? Thinking they mostly just tear a dude apart then leave their body but idrk. [link] [comments] |
A Few Thoughts on Pre-War Music Posted: 01 Jan 2021 07:20 PM PST To start off, music in Fallout is inherently confusing, as the majority of it featured in the 3D games is decades old, and would've been a century old by 2077, and yet it's seemingly exclusively listened to Pre-War with no apparent or stated motive. Fallout 76 has provided some details which both clarify and confuse things more; songs such as "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" are cited as being older, indicating that it may be as old as we'd think, and there's also two songs specifically recorded for 76, a cover of Country Roads and Ring of Fire, the latter having a more "modern" sound than most of the music used in game. To go further, we have a setlist for a band playing on October 22nd in Appalachia which features both older music and newer. Granted, all of the music is "older" by 2077, but the point remains that we see reference to music recorded decades after "divergence" referenced, alongside the few tracks from New Vegas that were newer and recorded to sound older. There's a continuing puzzle as to why these songs are what we see pre-War, alongside modern music, which I hope gets solved eventually. [link] [comments] |
Did all animals get mutated, or did some of them die completely? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 08:39 PM PST I've only played fo4 and fo76, but I was curious about horses, snakes, birds, etc. [link] [comments] |
