Found this in someone's instanced shelter on FO76.

Thought about posting it on the 76 sub, but sadly I think maybe 4 people there would even get it.

The last 3 fallouts, failed to replicate the terror of subterranean exploration I loved so much in fallout 3

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 05:06 AM PST

New vegas had desert caves and the occasional sewer system in outer vegas, and fallout 4 had subway systems but the atmosphere of the DC metro was terrifying but yet that made me want to explore them even more. Fallout 3 was more like Metro in this sense and because of that I think the environment of Fallout 3 is the best of the series.

    Does the prydwen have bathrooms

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:47 PM PST

How do they get rid of waste? There seems to be no bathroom on board, if they could repair the sink and toilet in Cambridge police station why not build a bathroom in the prydwen.

Cait and Valentine Power Armor problem.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 02:33 AM PST

I loaded a quicksave and for some reasons Cait and Valentine's power armor frames are missing, so now they look like stretched people. I can't order them to get out of their power armor, and using a console command didn't work, and also reloaded a save before that quicksave. Didn't work. They can still equip individual armor pieces, but it looks weird now since you can clearly see them naked under the gaps. Any tips?

Can we get some love going for the Burned Man, himself: Keith Szarabajka

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:46 PM PST

Whether you're a fan of Mass Effect, Warhammer 40k, Halo, Darksiders, or Fallout, you'll recognize Keith's voice at work. Most famously, perhaps, he was the voice of Harbinger in ME2. But to me, he'll always be Joshua Graham.

When I first heard him bid me welcome to Zion in the F:NV expansion, Honest Hearts, I knew I was in love. <hyperbole>Not the love one would feel for a romantic partner, but the love one feels hearing an expert Tenor, singing in an opera, or an experienced guitarist, making one's soul reverberate in a slow ballad or soaring solo. </hyperbole>

It was voice I would compare to the likes of Tony Jay. Someone who could make even banal dialogue into something compelling. A voice that, once you knew it, you would always recognize. A voice like salted caramel, soothing yet rugged, and a performance that definitely made the end result more than the sum of its parts.

On a side note, I want to say that his talents were wasted in FO4 as Generic Male Ghoul, but it was good to hear him, nonetheless.

Still, I wanted to make sure that his contributions to Fallout, and more importantly his overall work, are not overlooked. He has a voice worthy of note, and I would like to see what praise you all have to share.

How does an Institute Courser stack up against Frank Horrigan in a fight lore wise?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 08:16 PM PST

I know in terms of gameplay coursers are weak and feeble compared to many other enemies in their respective game. But if you go by lore, one singlehandedly plowed through an entire base of gunners to the top floor with no visible injuries. Desdemona reacts to you killing a courser as if it were an impossible feat. Which implies no one in her entire organization has that kind of combat prowess. The strongest member being Glory, who held off the brotherhood of steel entering through the church long enough for the sole survivor to show up and aid in the battle. Although she died from her wounds shortly after, she killed an undisclosed amount of them, some of which wearing power armor. In lore the battles are usually on a larger scale than ingame. So we can assume she killed atleast half a dozen of them.

Virgil initially hypes up the coursers to high hell and outright says they are the best at what they do. But after you kill your first courser he contradicts himself being unsurprised that you did it and saying "Seeing as you have killed Kellogg, it's not too much of a jump to kill a courser". Either that means coursers are overrated or Kellogg is a beast. Seeing as the institute used Kellogg for so long and extended his life, I assume it's the latter. Yeah, yeah i know, how can a guy who mainly used a .44 magnum be anything special. Especially seeing it would be useless against power armor and arguably combat armor. Well that's bethesdas writing for you.

Then you have Frank who can kill deathclaws with his bare hands and laugh off taking plasma rifle fire. I don't know for sure if coursers strictly use institute lasers or if they have better equipment lorewise, because that will make a huge difference.

    What are your guy's thoughts?

What are some things you want to see in future Fallout Games?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 10:42 AM PST

Continuing from my last post about potential features, I've since come up with more ideas on features that would be great for Fallout.

    Cap Counterfeiting

I always believed Cap Counterfeiting should have a larger role in the Wasteland, with certain Merchants selling collections of fake Bottlecaps or the ability to make your own with a new Workbench. Of course, this can be balanced out with a skill requirement to make said Caps and the resources needed to make them can be rare or expensive. Success on using Counterfeit Caps can depend on quality of the Cap, Charisma and Barter Skill. If a Merchant realizes the Caps are fake, they could refuse to sell to the Player for a certain amount of time, become hostile or call a Settlement's Guard to come arrest you.

    Jail System

It's kinda weird Diamond City has a Jail, but any crimes committed by the player is punishable by death. It's not like a Jail System won't work, it worked nicely in Skyrim, so I don't know why it wasn't in Fallout 4. It would work the same as the Jail System in Skyrim, you can serve your time or escape.

    Bounty Hunting and Bounty Hunter

I would love the ability to take Bounties or have a Bounty Hunter find you. If you're wanted in a Settlement for committing crimes, there's a chance a Bounty Hunter will approach you and you can either go with them peacefully to serve your time or fight them. Same with the Player Character, you can attempt a peaceful arrest or have to fight your bounty.

    Jobs

I would love it if you were able to take small jobs around the Wasteland for extra Caps. These could include, but not limited to Bartender, Caravan Guard, Settlement Guard, Courier, Detective, Doctor and even Mechanic.

    Taming or Raising Wasteland Creatures

I would love it if you could tame Wasteland Creatures with some food or being able to find a baby or egg abandoned by its Mother. You could then raise said creature and have a new best friend and even buy special armor for it. Armored Deathclaws, anyone?

    Expanded Power Armor

I love the aesthetic of the Raider Power Armor. It's very Wasteland chic. Now, what if you can build your own Power Armor from Scrap? I'm not talking about building a T-60 or anything like that, I'm talking about constructing your own Power Armor out of the scrap you find in the Wasteland? This can be known as "Wastelander's Power Armor" and it can be made out of various metal pieces and even Street Signs. Perhaps attach some Stop Signs to the arms for extra unarmed damage or a Freeway Sign Shield. Perhaps you could attach Trunks or Footlockers to the Armor for extra Storage Space. Merchant Power Armor can have Footlockers, Trunks, Backpacks and other Containers attached to their Power Armor, to kinda act like a Pack Brahmin.

The ability to choose a Faction to join or make your own

There could be several Factions to join or recruit people to join your own Faction. There could be a Territory System where you can take over other Territories or other Factions attempting to take over your own.

    Repair, Purchase or Sell Vehicles

I would love it if you can repair and armor up a Vehicle, or the ability to sell repaired Vehicles you made or purchase them from certain Merchants. You could repair Cars, Trucks, Humvees, Buggies, Boats and high level Players could even repair a Vertibird, if they choose. You could even purchase or craft a Brahmin cart if you prefer not to buy or craft fuel for the other Vehicles. Brahmin Carts could be the cheapest form of Transportation, but you would need to feed the Brahmin and it would need to rest.

So, what do you guys think of these? Have ideas of your own? Let me know in the comments below.

Fallout 76 is better than all the shit people give it

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:45 AM PST

I know there were promises that weren't delivered, and things that killed the game, but I loved Fallout 76. I'm somewhat new to the series so that may be it, but me and my friends had fun finally having a Fallout to play with each other. And yeah, it was shit in the beginning, but you gotta admit, it's gotten way better. Oh, and Fallout 4 is my personal favorite. Sorry for the rant, but I'm tired of seeing all of the posts saying "don't let Fallout 4/76 give you an idea as to what the series is like"

    Fallout 76 Gamepass/Sale

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 05:28 PM PST

Apparently Fallout 76 is on sale from what I've seen and it's on Gamepass and Gamepass is one dollar for the first month, so get it. Yes, get Fallout 76 if you have the money to. This game is so worth it. I played it on PS4 when it was free for awhile because of Nuclear Winter and I loved it. I was one of those people who thought it was going to suck since I was a Fallout New Vegas/3 fanboy, but it holds up so much. It personally has the best open world in the Fallout series to me. Appalachia is great. The NPCs are amazing too. I enjoyed the game without them, but now that they are here it's so good. Note this is my second run of Fallout 76 and this game has a lot of replay factor, so having more than one character is encouraged. You have different opportunities for quests to finish in a certain way, you can make a build differently on another character. It's all just so great. I wouldn't listen to the people who swear it's trash despite not playing it, it's cheap right now so just get it and play it for yourself. Form your own opinion about it. Like I said earlier, I thought it was bad but my mind got changed swiftly. Try Fallout 76.

    Any way to immerse yourself?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 02:34 AM PST

I have just gotten fallout 4 and I feel like I'm not immersed in the world. Is there any way I can feel like I am actually there? I don't have a VR headset so that is out of the question.

I wanted to begin setting up a little project, and if anyone was nerdy enough to know plenty of fallout lore and how to map design, that would be a great help.

Why do people hate the Assault Rifle in Fallout 4 ?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 01:13 PM PST

My most grip with the gun actually came from it ammo scarcity

You can't enjoy the gun until you got all the high end modification, which only around Gun Nuts 4 and the ammo is way way more rare than .45

By level 20, i got myself more than 4000 round of .45 and only 500 round of 5.56 - You only get more 5.56 when Gunner and Raider start using AR on mass, which is quite a high level, when im level 50 the fuckers still using pipe gun for fuck shake

The gun itself is fine, faster firerate with tad bit lower dmg

More people should try out automatic Assault Rifle, it is a laser beam and fun

    I FUCKING LOVE THE NCR!

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 09:35 AM PST

They began in 2186 and were voted proper as a federation of five states in big communities like Shady, Los Angeles, Maxsom, Hub and Dayglow. After a couple of years, the NCR became such a huge model for the ethics of the wasteland. They have their own currency, three branches, and a whole ton of other shit. But, it came at a cost. THE DEATH OF PRESIDENT TANDI!

Long-time Fallout fan, just finished Fallout 4 for the first time (LOVED IT) and downloading Fallout 76 now - any tips?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 02:27 PM PST

Hey everyone! Ive spent the last 10 years playing Fallout 3 and NV and avoiding spoilers for Fallout 4 because I didn't have any next gen consoles. Recently I bought a nice gaming laptop and got to play Fallout 4 for the first time ever. I absolutely loved it. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. Today I saw Fallout 76 on sale on steam so I knew it was time to try that as well. I've heard mixed things about it, but I know it's been improved recently. Is there any tips you'd have for someone just getting into it? Thanks!

Tips for a first time Fallout 1 Playthrough

    Posted: 26 Nov 2020 05:16 PM PST

I'm planning on playing Fallout 1 for the first time. I've played Fallout 3, NV, and 4, and I'm pretty well versed on the lore. However, I'm a Gen Z-er who hasn't really experienced isometric, turn-based, RP games such as the first Fallout.

Does anyone have tips on how to enjoy a first experience to the fullest? Thanks so much in advance!
