Not sure if this has been posted before, but I’m replaying honest hearts and I just noticed a pair of skeletons next to a car near the Zion park welcome booth, is this the couple that the survivalist mercy killed after they were blinded in the nuclear blasts?

To kill or not to kill the Think tank? What do you guys think is the better ending?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:58 PM PDT

My first run on Old World Blues with a good karma courier. Did all the sidequests, found all the loot. All it takes now is to end the DLC by either killing or just leaving them alone though not sure which fate should the courier, the brains and all of Mojave have.

I left Doctor Borous alone because he doesnt seem evil as he is hes just crazy thats all. But the think tank though, they experimented and continue experimenting on lobotomites and animals. Im not sure what to make of that.

What do you guys think? Is the think tank better left alone or should the courier take Big MT for his own?

Creating a Non-Gimmicky (but Game Inspired) Sierra Madre Martini

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:27 PM PDT

With videogame cocktails, there usually seem to be two main camps; a solid drink very loosely inspired by the spirit of the in-game article, or a gimmicky drink appealing to fans that although cool would not appear in a bar. Both drinks styles are entirely valid, and awesome expressions of fandom. Indeed the Sierra Madre Martini has two versions falling into these camps by Jack at Expierience Bar and Greg How to Drink respectively. Both are great takes on the drink, and the creators are awesome, but not quite what I am looking for.

What I want to do is create a highly game inspired drink based on all available in universe parameters we know, that could still conceivably be served in a bar and enjoyed by non-gamers. As such, I don't want to use the in game ingredients themselves, but to find something analogous

First we must look at the ingredients of the cannon drink (excluding the tin can used for a cup) to get an idea what we are working with.

    1. Junk Food: In game this appears to be a bag of potato chips.
    2. Cloud Residue: This is a bit harder because we don't exactly know what the cloud is made of. We do know its properties though. Its highly corrosive (enough so to rust the seals on the Ghost Peoples suits), toxic, smells of copper and sulfur, is red, and can reanimate the dead (or at least render victims largely un-killable).

    So....

In addition to Dean telling us the drink will slap you upside the head, we know has something to do with martinis, needs potatoes, salt, something corrosive, something toxic, something copper or red... and the ability to revive a corpse.

Vodka works for the potatoes, salt can either rim the glass or be used as a saline solution. The corrosive-ness could come from acidity... so citrus. Nothing in cocktail culture says toxic quite like Absinthe, so that's a must. Copper and/or red are difficult but could be colors, red is self explanatory, and copper is the main chemical in blue dye. And reviving a corpse can only mean one thing.

This brings us to two main drinks that each partiality fits the bill

    1. Vodka Martini
    2. Corpse Reviver No.2

As such, we will combine them here, and add where needed.

To start, a classic Corpse Reviver calls for: Gin, lemon juice, Lilet Blanc, Orange Liquor and an absinthe rinse.

    1. We will substitute Vodka for the Gin. this will however leave us wanting for botanicals, so some dry vermouth and bitters need to be added too, this also has the added benefit of incorporating the martini.
    2. We will use Curacao instead of the normal orange liquor, either red (matching the in game color) or blue (for the copper). I used blue as that's what I have on hand, but you do you.
    3. We will add some 20% saline solution, and rim half the glass with salt. This really helps add some depth and body to the tartness of the drink, and finishes our potato-chip inclusion.
    4. We will also modify the proportions somewhat to help forward the martini influence, so its a bit more than just a modified Corpse Reviver No.2

As such, my recipe is as follows:

Shake with ice and strain into a half salt rimmed cocktail glass....

    1 oz Vodka

    1/4 oz Dry Vermouth

1/2 oz (Blue or Red) Curacao

    1/2 oz Lillet Blanc

    3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice

    2 dashes of Saline Solution

    2 dashes of Bitters

    1 dash of Absinthe

AND SO I GIVE YOU MY TAKE ON THE SIERRA MADRE MARTINI

If anyone else tries it, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Personally I found it decent, but I am partial to Gin so I may not be the best judge. The rim is somewhat salt forward, but I feel that it works with the cannon drink. Regardless, it does certainly hit hard, so Dean's right there.

    Ave, true to Caesar.

Which factions to join and when

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 08:32 AM PDT

This is my first playthrough and i'm wondering what factions there are in the game and if any of them will have affects on the other factions quest lines. I obviously want to get the most out of the game so i want to do all of them if possible. Thanks in advance

Anyone intrested in helping me fix my fnv mod list?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 07:56 AM PDT

Okay, so I'm not very great with modding. I had a guy help me with modding ttw for awhile, but he got busy with other things and cant be of much help anymore. I'm looking for someone who can help me fix the issues with my game. And guide me through as sort of a modding mentor. I have discord so we can keep in touch there if need be.

Whats up with Black Mountain Loot?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 05:58 PM PDT

I've noticed on every playthrough of the game that the randomly generated loot here is awful. Even when I first visited the area this run at like level 20, the crates at the end mostly contained 9mm and 10mm pistols. Despite this, enemies continue to scale properly and drop increasingly powerful loot. Is this a known glitch and does anyone know why it happens? Or did they really mean for the end reward of that quest to be so underwhelming (besides obtaining Annabelle and Raul).
