It's possible to have 65 SPECIAL points in New Vegas

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 03:00 PM PDT

    Starting special would be S5P6E9C1I9A9L1

    Take four eyes

    Take all implants

Put 7 points into Luck and 3 points into Charisma

    Reinforced spine perk

Wear lucky shades with a hat to get 10 perception

    Take solar powered perk

During the day your special is now S10P10E10C5I10A10L10

If you do the Chet exploit, taking 10 levels of intense training doesn't waste any perks since you have double perks anyway. If you're doing that though, you might as well just use console commands

I can't get enough of the lore

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 03:08 PM PDT

The Fallout series is only the second video game franchise to really intrigue me (first being the Halo universe).

There's something about Fallout that makes it so interesting that I can't stop reading about (Fallout wiki, etc). I wish they would come out with some novels I could read to further quench my thirst for lore.

Anyone else find Dead Money an incredibly haunting story?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 06:19 PM PDT

Dead Money is my favourite Fallout experience of all time. I remember the first time I played it, I started it during midday and just kept playing and playing...by the time I finished it, it was 3:00 a.m. I've never done that with a video game before: just sat through the whole thing all at once, even though I was so tired I was on the verge of sleep.

But the thing is, this keeps happening. Every time I replay New Vegas and start this DLC, I always finish it in one sitting and find myself escaping the Casino at some ridiculously early time in the morning.

The entire experience is something else. An abandoned villa wrapped in a blood red cloud, frozen in time...a monument build by a man to a woman who never truly loved him...the only survivors being reanimated suits who drag you away into becoming one of them...the street inhabited by the ghosts and the voice of a long dead woman begging for forgiveness into an empty room for ever and ever...and even now, the obsession of people who cannot Let Go...

I don't know what it is, but the whole thing has this eerie, unsettling, melancholy, beautiful and tragic feeling about it. Add on top of that the "Begin Again" song...the whole thing is just an utterly unique experience I've never got from any other game. It is, and likely always will be, the story that defines the entire Fallout series for me.

    Favorite fallout game intro?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 08:14 PM PDT

Fallout 1, for me. Especially the: "Our dedicated boys keep the peace in newly annexed Canada!" Showing how the world was barbaric even before the nukes. So unsettling.

Why are the mouths of most super mutants being exposed by these straps on their face?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 03:26 AM PDT

If you've seen a face of a super mutant you've most likely noticed that there are straps on their face exposing their mouth, I'm wondering why it's there and what purpose it serves. I know that this seems like a rather random question but if you have an idea on why the straps are there, I'd like to hear it.

Fallout 4 - I accidentally locked Paladin Danse into Boston Airport

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 06:44 AM PDT

Hello, I'm playing Fallout 4 for the first time so please avoid spoilers.

As the title says, I locked Paladin Danse into Boston Airport. Usually when I dismiss companions I send them to the Castle, but it didn't feel right to send a BoS member to the Minutemen HQ since I had available Boston Airport aka the BOS HQ in the Commonwealth. However when I went there to get him back I found out he's behind a door linked to a computer which is inaccessible. Poking aroung on the internet I found out that the place becomes available only after doing a specific quest. I tried building a bell to call settlers so I could call him, but he just can't get out, I hear him walking around in there and even talking when I'm near but he just can't get out.

Is there any way to get him out before doing the quest? I'm on Ps4 if that helps. Thanks.

I Thought I Was So Clever... [Meta Backfire]

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 12:46 AM PDT

I left Doc Mitchells house and went straight to Primm. I picked up a landmine from the bridge and went to the spot where Joe Cobb leans on the house after he leaves the saloon. I dropped the mine, then triggered the event in the saloon. Went outside and waited. Joe go boom...

    Vault-Tec's obsession with human experiments!

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 06:58 AM PDT

So i've been playing Fallout since 3 and i've always been baffled with Vault-Tec's obsession with human experiments. Heck, they were doing public experiments in the Galactic zone of the Nuka World park, in an attraction! They're just mad about it! What do you guys think?

If the up and coming Fallout TV show had to be a retelling of one of the games, which one would you pick?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 03:19 PM PDT

Though I predict many people would say New Vegas for their answer, personally I would differ.

New Vegas is a fantastic game, and probably the best Fallout. But I don't think it would work well in a TV format. New Vegas was all about political drama; intrigue and all of that, which made it unique as an action rpg game, but there are thousands of political drama TV shows. And the unique world of New Vegas would require a large amount of exposition to explain.

However, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's ever been a TV show about a more action based core post Apocalypse. Which is part of the reason why I like the concept of using Fallout 3 as a basis for the show. Fallout 3 is desolate enough to really get the post apocalyptic feel, and it wouldn't require anywhere near as much exposition to explain the full lore of the area. Fallout 3's quests and locations too are memorable and fun and already fit a form of episodic context. In Fallout 3 you go from one location to another and very little transfers over, working well with a episodic TV show.

Plus the Lone Wanderer themselves have the most potential to become a full character imo. The things they go through are very interesting, the whole concept of being raised your whole life in a vault not knowing anything of the outside world, only to be forced out and abandoned by the vault and your father leaving you truly alone. It's very interesting. And I think that lends itself to the LW being given a character beyond the blank slate they are in game.

But what do you guys think?

Do any Fallout NPCs say "It's not that kind of bar stranger"?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 04:01 PM PDT

I remember hearing it somewhere, maybe not in Fallout. It sounds like something an NPC would say when nobody fucking asked, but I can't find the source when I Google it. Any help?

Question about a New Vegas ending

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 11:28 PM PDT

Obvious spoiler if you haven't beaten New Vegas.

What has always bothered me is the Yes Man ending because the way he says he has become "more assertive" and the way he phrases what he's been doing sounds to me that he's pretty much going rogue and will be a Mr. House-like overseer. The wiki says the assertive line means Yes Man will only take orders from the Courier but I just don't get that interpretation from the script.

You did a super job wrapping things up! And I'm not just saying that because I have to!

I didn't want to make a big deal about this until after we won, but, well...

I found some code snippets in one of Mr. House's databanks that will let me, um, reprogram my personality! To be a little more assertive, basically!

So that's what I'm going to be doing, and it's going to take me a while, so it'll seem like I'm off-line. But don't worry, everything will be okay!

I've updated the Securitrons' targeting parameters, so they know what to do! Vegas will be protected!

So that's where I'll be, off making a few changes, and I... I guess I'll see you around!

We accomplished a lot together! It was fun! Take care!

He seems a bit dismissive if it were the case that he is only going to be loyal to the Courier. Can anyone provide better information on this?

Is nuclear fuel used in cars?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 03:50 PM PDT

I got this question because in FO4 if you explode them they will give radiation. I mean, I thought the whole point of the war was because of resources such as oil, but if they use nuclear fuel then there was no need for the oil in the first place.

Will buying all the CC garbage stop downtown Boston from crashing and freezing all the damn time?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 01:49 AM PDT

Play on Xbox One, minimal mods, F4 ran fine until Nov/Dec-ish of last year (or maybe it was two years ago). I've been told it's because of the CC updates screwing with the world even if I haven't bought them.

Will buying them all fix this shit or am I fucked? Because it's literally unplayable with how many quests are tied to somewhere in Boston and the amount of freezes and crashes I get while I'm there.

What recurring characters would you like to see in Fallout 5?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2020 04:46 PM PDT

I'd love to see Veronica and Christine as an older couple living on the beach somewhere (next fallout game ideally takes place in Hawaii in my mind) but I doubt it'd ever happen since Christine's canon alive ending ends with her just living in the Sierra Madre forever and Bethesda hates Obsidian.
