Are there any “good” companies in the fallout universe

We always hear about the horrors of vault tec and west tek creating the F.E.V but are any companies that haven't done anything (that we know of) that aren't known for their atrocities?

Why do the BoS have such an unhealthy relationship with the codex?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 02:14 AM PDT

So first off I get that from a story perspective it's more interesting to have the brotherhood be a very flawed faction, that's all well and good, but let's just consider this for a moment.

Basically every chapter of the BoS throughout the entire franchise has been pretty much incapable of coming up with a reasonable set of guidelines for themselves, they're either completely disregarding the codex in favour of using their limited resources to try and exterminate the super mutant population of an entire city, or taking the other extreme and following the codex to the letter to the point that they're knowingly dooming themselves by refusing to adapt to a world that's clearly outgrown their isolationist and simplistic methods.

The closest we seem to get to a somewhat balanced brotherhood is maxson's BoS, who aren't so isolationist as to refuse to take on new members but also aren't so naive as to try and protect every single person without regard for how they're even going to accomplish that, but even then it seems like they got so excited by the fact that they'd found a working system that they accidentally forgot to not try and commit genocide.

So why is it that despite all its resources and scribes constantly updating the codex, the only person within the BoS who can even conceive of a sensible interpretation of the codex is Veronica, who essentially gets branded as a traitor for it?

There's a pre-war flagpole at Hoover Dam that the NCR hasn't stuck a flag on. Is this potentially because of respect for the old-world government that created the dam? Perhaps because House told them not to as part of the treaty?

Did owyn lyons make contact with the Chicago brotherhood?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 02:30 AM PDT

When owyn Lyons and his chapter were sent to dc, they probably went through the midwestern brotherhoods territory.( I think the midwestern brotherhood controls Kansas Missouri and Illinois). Did he make contact with them or did he even know about them?

Why Fallout games are so biased towards America?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:10 AM PDT

I mean, there were more countries than just America, China and Russia, why they have never been mentioned enough? We know that Middle East and Europe were devastated by the Resource war. But what about India, Australia and some Island nations? What happened to them? There big cities would have also bombed but what about it's inhabitants living in rural areas which were not affected by the war? Why NCR is considered the only 'BIG' nation in fallout world even though there are no mentions of other factions outside America.

I have a lot of questions about the creatures in Fallout 76

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:02 AM PDT

So, it makes sense that each game introduces new creatures that weren't previously featured. This is explained by environmental mutation, when an animal adapts to become apex in it's specific environment. Fallout 76 throws this away by adding almost every single one of the creatures from the past games, even environment specific creatures like the Fog Crawlers from Maine. They even get their name from the fog that clouds Far Harbor pretty much exclusively. Why are they in West Virginia? Same question with the Hermit Crab. If these creatures are supposed specific to an environment than how do they end all end up West Virginia in Fallout 76?

A Few Questions About Gamma Guns

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:18 AM PDT

Do they somehow draw energy from the gamma rounds (speaking of which, what are gamma rounds, exactly? Highly concentrated radioactive material?) and concentrate it? How do they focus the energy? The dish sort of implies it's a radio wave type thing, judging by the way the blast is shaped. Do the rads 'ride' the wave emitted by the dish, sort of like how the electric component of a LAER is transmitted via the laser? Taking away gameplay mechanics, are they lethal? Do they emit enough concentrated radiation to instantly kill, or does it simply cause severe radiation poisoning that kills you later or incapacitates you enough for the Children to follow up with conventional weapons? Do they have any impact on animals or ghouls whatsoever?

Do you prefer the militarized BoS (Maxsons fallout 4 brotherhood) or the religious brotherhood (fo1 and fo2)

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 08:24 PM PDT

I like maxsons setup personally the ranks are more like ranks instead of jobs.

Can feral ghouls eventually rot away

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:48 AM PDT

I was wondering if feral ghouls would eventually die by rotting since they become feral in the first place by there brain rotting.

Why are there feral ghouls in Appalachia?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:52 PM PDT

I understand ghouls being in the game, coming after the treasure and all, but since the bombs barely touched Appalachia, there shouldn't be nearly enough radiation to produce feral ghouls on the level we see them in 76. Right?

Was the kid that miles the radio host saw kellogg with in diamond city the synth clone of shaun?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 02:04 PM PDT

If Shaun is 70 years old then that couldnt have been him with kellogg in diamond city. Miles is probably 22 or something and wouldnt have been old enough. Thoughts?
