    Man, I always thought it was weird that Butch became a barber. Who needs barbers in the apocalypse? I scoffed.

    After 30 hours and approaching the base game level cap in Fallout 3, long-range combat is still entirely non-viable

    The game greatly lowers your accuracy when the firefights are fought outside of strictly close-combat scenarios, the shot hit chance quickly drops to 10% and below even with scoped weapons (as evidenced by VATS, which without perks appears to mirror your own abilities). It makes no sense to wear down your weapons, armor and ammo reserves by taking shots from some distant spot — frankly, against ranged characters cutting down the distance to VATS' reach (even with no regard to your own health) would likely be more sensible. To make matters worse, the game adds heavy artificial sway to scopes when your "small guns" skill is under 100 (but this likely only affects real-time gameplay) and the enemies technically have infinite ammo (their inventory can only be cleared by pickpocketing).

    I truly hope that the solution isn't some heavily overpowered DLC weapon and a maxed out character build loaded with every single accuracy-related perk.
