Would you be happy with this as a present?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:00 AM PST

https://imgur.com/a/aSqcMYk So I'm new to the fallout universe. My guy started me with fallout 4 and I quickly became obsessed. I'm planning on making a trip to go see him soon and I've been trying to put together a present for him. Would you be happy getting this as a present? I'm an anxious person and I really need some opinions. There is: * 2 Nuka Cola Quantums (the wrapped up white thing they are Jones Soda too afraid I'd break them) * Roboco Fun Atomic Command (His favorite magazine) * 50 official Nuka Cola Caps * An acceptance Letter for vault 111, Pickman Calling Card, and Silver Shroud Calling Card * Fusion Cell * 7 Pairs of Socks * Stimpak * Med-x * Jet * 4 strands of 4 Nuka World tickets * 2 Pack of Irradiated Blood ice packs * 2 homemade (not by me) nuka cola caps * Nuka Cola Victory loose leaf tea * Fixer Loose Leaf Tea * Mentats Loose Leaf Tea

I'm also trying to make a caps stash but I'm not sure how to do the pattern. Any helpful hints would be awesome.

Doing a fallout 4 playthrough when I first reached “the covenant” which is a small settlement with a weird “test”

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 06:27 PM PST

When I approached this settlement I came across someone outside named Swanson who gave me a test called the "SAFE" test. After the first question I instantly noticed that he gave me the same test as the GOAT from Fallout 3. Thought it was pretty cool! Never seen this settlement in other playthroughs so it definitely caught me off guard

First memory of fallout new Vegas

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:48 PM PST

I was 13 years old when My first fallout game (fallout 3)and instantly became obsessed with it. I played it for months on end and couldn't get enough it. Me and my brother both were fans of the game and wanted more of the fallout experience. It was a little over a year or when my parents finally let me and my brother buy fallout new Vegas. The game was a little over a year old at this time and I didn't know what to expect since I was still new to the franchise. so we bought it on PS3 and waited for it to download, the opening cinematic gave us both chills, however right after the title disappeared and were ready for some game play, the PlayStation suddenly turned off with no explanation, we tried rebooting it, waiting for it to cool down, but to no avail, it had essentially died. Me and my Brother were so pissed by the fact that we had bought new Vegas only for us to watch the cinematic and our game console to crap out on us. It was a few more weeks more weeks before we got to actually play the game, it wasn't long after that I switched to Xbox and have been ever since. But other than he beginning it has a pleasant experience in new Vegas.

What are your favourite roleplay builds?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 02:15 AM PST

I've got 30 hours in FO:NV with my Good Guy Merc, he's a nice guy overall (speech, medicine, science) and doesn't mess too much with the status qou. He's more of a follower of the apocalypse kinda guy but has recently made a few bad choices, it might change his moral view point. (He accidentally made a certain guy shoot himself.)
I've also got a Native and Mad Scientist planned. Native will be built around nature, primitive weaponry and kicking everyone out of his peoples land.
Mad scientist will be blowing everything up into an evil anarchistic society ruled by him.

In FO4 I played Nora that's the extent of that...Still fun though.

How about you guys? Who are your characters? Whats are their and stories? In all games, not just NV.

Why doesn’t the lone wanderer ever mention his military background?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:52 PM PST

Not very deep into the game so forgive me if I'm wrong. But it feels like a pretty useful aspect of his background and I've yet to here him even allude to it. Especially with the BOS.

Edit: sole survivor. I'm talking about fallout 4

Interplay would have damaged the Fallout franchise much more than Bethesda has

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:34 AM PST

Bethesda screwed up...They released a buggy and unstable game that lacked many of the things desired in a fallout game as well as introduced the much hated micro-transactions system. But did you know 10 years earlier, Bethesda actually prevented Interplay from releasing a game called Fallout: Online. There is one thing that most of the fanbase can agree on, Fallout is not suited to be an online game. The redeeming quality of Fallout 76 is the modern mechanics and graphics, If a Fallout:Online game was released in 2008 we would have likely got a much worse result. This also wasn't the first time Interplay tried capitalizing off of the Fallout namesake after it published Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 for Black Isle Studios. A lot of people refer to Van Buren as the "Real Fallout 3" however it never being released was 100% the fault of Interplay. Interplay demanded game breaking mechanics such as co-op. When Interplay finally decided to make a Fallout game without Black Isle Studios or another company, We got by far the worst Fallout game we had ever seen. A game that took iconic names from the franchise and made them a joke. Nuka-Cola to Bawls energy drink is a prime example. The bottom line while although not perfect, Bethesda literally saved the game 10 years earlier from a much more reckless company.

I'm so scared of the Drive In

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:22 PM PST

Ok, some weird shit. So I went to the drive in, it's a great place. I cleared it out. I started building a fence around the irradiated area. Super high pitch "HOLA!" in my right ear then boom. There's blood and bottle caps everywhere. It legitimately traumatized me. It's happened twice since then. Never saw him/her/it whatever. This faceless creep with a high pitched voice has jumpscare explosive power over me. I don't know what to do. I'm finding resources for turrets to focus on the workshop hut. I died there all 3 times looking away from whatever the fuck killed me. I'm searching the hills and scoping them every chance I get. I'm trying to get this fucker to spawn by trying to repeat the not-looking-in-that-direction conditions and he's not coming back. I'm in a state of terror thinking this will happen again. Tell me anything you know about this.

Update: Just got it to happen again. It's invisible. Not sure what it's saying but it sounds like "HOLA!" BOOM!

Update: Not sure what triggers it. It's happened 4 times and I'm trying for a 5th. No dice. I know it only spawns when you're not looking. That's all I know.

Can't go to the Nakano Residence

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 11:34 PM PST

Everytime I try to go to the Nakano Residence a border stops me saying "You can not go this way."

Here are things I have done:

    1. Followed the shore side (which is where I go everytime, I've tried going around to the sky rises, and no clipping)
    2. I have swam out to the water and went around the border (works, but will list issue with that later)
    3. I have brought nick with me to see if that had to do anything.
    4. Yes, I have mods. 70+ mods, of which none are the Fallout 4 HD Revised thingy whatever.
    5. Have tried disabling a bunch of my re-texture mods.

Never had this problem before. And the reason I won't just swim out until the barrier stops is because well, it is not immersive. I like to RP and I am a big Minutemen RP'er. So it just isn't right for me. But if I got to do it, then so be it. Thanks in advance for anyone who helps me. (FYI, I have yet to verify my game files or reinstall.)

Opinion on No Guns Allowed mod?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:36 PM PST

Hi all. I'm going to be starting a new playthrough on FO4 on Xbox soon. I found a mod called No Guns Allowed that looks like it makes the game mostly melee based and guns/ ammo a lot rarer.

I'm think about using this as I never use melee when I have guns available.

Has anyone used this mod before? Is it fun? Does it work with all dlc (description isn't too clear)?

I usually use the modern firearms mod, because the guns look more realistic than vanilla guns. I figure this is kind of the opposite of that.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this mod, or if I should stick with modern firearms instead. Or if I should stick with vanilla plus other mods I haven't used.

    Thanks.

[New Vegas][PC][Modded] Recently started The Lonesome Road DLC for New Vegas but as soon as I leave the silo at the beginning of the DLC I spawn underground. I've tried tcl but the world is poorly rendered and I just clip back through the ground once I disable it. How can I fix this?

[New Vegas] Legion Camp During NCR run

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:01 PM PST

So I am doing Things that Go Boom and going to do an NCR run. I have The House Always Wins I and II. I want to go to the Legion camp to kill Benny and Caesar, and to recover the chip

Should I upgrade the securitrons or just destroy them? Is there any way to use them with NCR? Does upgrading them affect NCR fame in any way?

Are the Classic Fallout Games Playable and/or Any Good on Surface Book?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:45 PM PST

Hey All. So I had noticed on GOG that Fallout 1 and 2 are on sale for a good price. I've only ever played the Fallout games from 3 onward on console, so I'm not sure how immersed I'd be able to get in the gameplay style of the original titles, even though the narrative does seem pretty interesting. Ideally I'd want to try this game out on Mac, but it's Windows only at this time, so I'm wondering if this game would be worth getting for the Surface Book. Any input on the matter would be most helpful. Thanks.

Fallout4 Survival-Mode Players, What Are Your Opinions On It?

What do you enjoy about playing Survival in Fallout4? Does the good outweigh the bad? Do you consistently play it? I myself enjoy it. Everything feels a little more satisfying.

Need Help: I'm having a problem with a cosmetic mod (hair) working in Fallout 4 and I need advice as I can't find anything elsewhere.

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:17 PM PST

So, I've had Fallout 4 since it initially came out in 2015 (on the Xbox 1). I have since gotten the GOTY edition with all DLC for the PC because I love playing so much.

    Onto the issue

Now, I mod a ton, I've played the game so much that it just feels dull without some mods to spice it up. With that, my favorite mods tend to be cosmetic, since I love the creative freedom of creating my own unique characters. I had recently gotten a hair color mod on Nexus using Vortex as my mod manager.

The mod required LooksMenu, so I was naturally hesitant since it's a pain to install and is buggy. But the mod (which added like 521 hair colors or something like that) would greatly help me make even more unique characters in Fallout 4. Well, the mod wasn't working at all, none of the new colors showed, so I decided to try deleting the mods I no longer used as well as any mods that could interfere with a hair color mod (a great loss, one of those mods I truly loved, but sacrifices are in order for change). Nothing. The mod still refused to work and I'm not sure what to do, and if I absolutely have to restart, then I will, but that's a last resort.

    Can anyone please help me?

I have some ideas for clothing mods for Fallout 4, but do not have the time nor experience to create said mods. If I uploaded drawings of my clothing design ideas for mods would anyone be willing to create them for console?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 02:12 AM PST

I'm a console player of FO4. I do own the pc version but my pc is simply too slow to run the game properly much less run the modded version as I have attempted many times.

Pc has much more variety in clothing mods whereas console clothing for females is..skimpy. I have some clothing design ideas to fix that but they aren't exactly life friendly and rely more on modern(teen-young adult)fashion.

That out of the way would anyone be willing to spend their time creating the clothing mods for console if I gave them pictures? I would prefer the file size to not exceed 70 but I will make exceptions if it at least goes to around 100 if there is no other way to reduce file size. I will not be paying anything btw, I'm thirteen, I'm not loaded with cash and credit cards.

Getting atrocious outcomes on the Gomorrah slots with 10 Luck

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 03:10 PM PST

In the Tops, I got 6000 chips from playing the slots a few times. I even got banned from how much I was cleaning house. So I go over to the Gomorrah to gamble some more and it seems like the slots payout like 5% of the time. I'm getting payouts like I have 1 Luck when I have 10. What's with this?

    Original fallout factions and characters

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 12:58 PM PST

Making a fallout dnd campaign the setting is Detroit, and the manufacturing industry is still functioning (not New Vegas functional), and the city is still there kinda (not as large as boston). There is a large pre war ghoul population (they own and run the factories) but that's as far as I've come up with, I was hoping to get some original ideas for factions and some unique npc ideas to make a more collaborative world please feel free to leave any here, THANK YOU.

Any possible hints to fallout 5 within fallout 4/76?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 12:33 PM PST

So in fallout 3, the Replicated Man questline dropped a lot of hints on the next fallout game (4), with all the talk about the commonwealth, the institute, and synths. Are there any possible examples of anything like that within 4 or 76? I still play 4, but never bothered with 76, like the majority of the fan base. I'm hoping 76 didn't kill the series, I don't know what Bethesda was thinking with an empty, strictly multiplayer Fallout game. Any theories about 5??
