The next Fallout game should bring back unique weapons and remove legendary ones.

    tl:dr

have unique weapons while also giving the player the choice of toggling legendary enemies in game so all parties are satisfied about the whole legendary weapons situation.

So hear me out, it's nice killing a legendary enemy and seeing what your luck has brought you but it's not the same feeling as when in 3 in NV where when you found a unique weapon and also doesn't make sense lore wise. Hell Fallout 4 was my first Fallout game and finding the unique weapons was fun but after playing 3 and NV it wasn't as exciting. would recommend for the next Fallout game that legendaries weapons only appear in Very Easy. They have no special ammo necessary to shoot them.

In any other mode however, legendary enemies no longer exist and only unique weapons exist to substitute for them. In order for certain effects to make sense lore wise, explosive weapon effect for example, will be limited to a shotgun. This shotgun won't start shooting explosive rounds right off the bat, but instead will be the only shotgun in game to accept explosive rounds. To substitute for this, it is more powerful than the base shotgun but has more recoil. Or a gun could have a unique attachment that is only found on said gun. In Fallout 4 the Deliverer is a good example of a unique weapon. No other gun has it's model and it's completely unique.

This would make searching for unique weapons and collecting them much more enjoyable as you know that gun your looking for is the only gun in the game with either that attachment or ability, so finding it will be more exciting than it would be in Fallout 4, where if you found a unique weapon you could literally get that exact same weapon or better by killing a legendary enemy.

Edit: Since there seems to be people who want legendaries, how about instead having a setting in the settings menu that lets you chose if you want legendary enemies or not. Maybe even tweak on how often you get them. For those who want something lore friendly, turn off legendary enemies in the settings. For those who want to gamble with enemies, turn on legendary enemies and put how often you'd want them to spawn.

TIL after 5 years of playing Fallout 4, the USS Riptide on the bottom level has an interior that actually has beds, containers, and a mag. After climbing down all the ladders and before going to the barge, wastelanders more intelligent than me can turn around and explore the inside of the ship.

I feel pretty dumb. Not gonna lie. lol Especially since I've passed it countless times on my way to Diamond City.

Help Uninstalling Fallout 4 "Home Plate Connected"

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 12:12 AM PST

Using vortex I uninstalled Home Plate Connected, and deleted every trace I could find of it (plugins.txt, ...). However, my workshop materials are still shared between settlements. I tried uninstalling fallout 4 after uninstalling all its mods, but my workshop materials are still shared. This is a known bug on the nexus page. How do I fix this?

Why Virgil is rhe biggest problem with Fallout 4 and how it should have effected the whole franchise (Spoilers)

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 08:03 PM PST

You literally cure FEV and reverse the effects of becoming a super mutant, but proceed to never tell a living soul on Earth.

That is a VERY big deal!

Fallout started woth super mutants being the original villain. The master's whole plan was to forcefully "evolve" humanity into mutants for the betterment of the human race. He makes a compelling argument that super mutants are better suited for rhe irradiated wasteland and kills himself is he learns they aren't all that.

Super mutants have appeared in every game and some, like Marcus are openly proud to call themselves super mutants who once had a purpose. They are a cultire and a people the same way that Ghouls are.

FEV was developed pre-war by the millitary, experimented with by Vault-Tech, used by the Master to create the first game, used by the Enclave to develop all new strains. Its such a vital part of the games that it should 100% be a huge quest to have to deal with.

Now there is a cure for it that can undo all of that and Fallout 4 treats this fact so passingly that it's genuinely baffling. A cure to reverse FEV could be a direct sequel to the original game by itself because it has such large ramifications for the universe and for an entiere culture of people that live in it.

I'm a little passionate about this, I'm sure you can tell, but I hope I was also coherant. What are your views on this?

If you could put any Fallout character in a fighting game, who do you think you'd have the most fun playing as?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 04:40 PM PST

You can name a specific fighting game, or just fighters in general.

Are there any good horror mods for FNV?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 03:07 AM PST

I'm looking to start a new horror themed playthrough of New Vegas.

Are there any horror mods available for FNV similar to Whispering Hills or such in Fallout 4?

Why has there only been one instance of language drift? The tribals of Honest Hearts.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 05:13 AM PST

In Honest Hearts the tribals have been isolated for so long that they've developed their own language, in a mere 200 years. That's how severe the language drift has been.

Yet we don't see this anywhere else. People still talk like some cross between modern and fifties people everywhere else. Regions would still be isolated, language should still drift.

I know the real reason language hasn't drifted, because it would be inconvenient to the player. Which is fine but then it becomes weird when one group of people developed their own language.

    Lore-Friendly & Immersive Mods?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 11:44 PM PST

Hello, just got a copy of Fallout 3 GOTY for PC and I'm looking for a fun play through that's realistic. I've installed FOSE, Alt Start, Enhanced Camera, thinking about getting Player Animations. I've seen RH Ironsights but iffy on it, Ive seen Wanderer Edition and was iffy so I sprung for Simple Needs. I'm mainly looking for mods that make the game more of a survivor sim. With that being said, not only am I looking for realistic mechanics but weapons and armors/clothing, decorative items, player homes, npc edits (wanted to use Character Overhaul, doesn't edit NPC and author has gotten a lot of hate for poor optimization and hidden nudity) that make the characters look less like melted GI JOEs. Graphics aren't really important but if it adds a little depth to the game ill check it out. I would really enjoy being more of a scavver and caravanner than the Vault Messiah so any misc mods like that are welcome. Last, but not least, something to make my player character look a bit more hardy and rough like some kind of raider skin textures, scars, hair and/or facial hair.

Sorry if this is long, I've got no idea where to start looking for these things.

All I want to know are people's, characters backstories and faction choices from fallout 3-4( also mabe F1-F3/F76/NV )

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 03:21 AM PST

For me personally on the playthrough I've done on FO3 my characters name was Logan an @sshole psycho at least after his father Liam Neeson died before that he was greedy and prideful, therefore in my head cannon after a while his companion(s) probably got sick of his $hit and killed him. and I dont remember there being much if not any faction choice in F3 ( please correct me if I'm wrong )

Now for NV the character was Sam, drifter turned courier until he got shot after that, he was just a heroic character doing good deeds around the Mojave nothing to special. And I sided ( in the main story ) with mr house, Senor house was just convincing

And. Finally for FO4, ( this might break lore, and my explanation for this might suck so bare with me ) but my character in this game is a synthetic clone of the vault dweller from FO1 created after the institute wanted the perfect soldier, and since the vault dweller was something of a legend they decided to try to re-create that. as for Shaun, it was a mission, programmed into the "dweller" since more than likely the institute has VR tech they would give him pre-war military training from the POV of a soldier and I sided with the brotherhood

The Mass Fusion quest is frustrating. Is there any beds or a way to prevent the assualtrons from activating?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 01:59 PM PST

I'm doing a survival run with the BOS and I just want to complete the quest without dying from the assualtrons because they can open doors and Procter Ingram doesn't help me. If I could just save in the building it wouldn't be so bad but it is frustrating. Is there a way to prevent the assualtrons from activating after taking the device?
