Nearing the end of my first Legion playthrough Posted: 13 Nov 2019 05:29 AM PST I can't even count how many (mostly unfinished) playthroughs I've done since I picked up the game a year and a half ago. But, I'd never done a Legion run. Not only do I dislike the faction, but I have a hard time doing "evil" things even in video games. What finally tipped the scales was wanting to see how Functional Post Game Ending would respond to Legion conquest. Man, I'd heard y'all talk about how sparse the legion questline was, but somehow I didn't understand just how dire the situation is. When picking a part out of a cabinet at Nellis is one of the better sidequests, you know you're in trouble. Only yesterday did I begin slaughtering the NCR en masse. I had wiped them out at Helios One, but otherwise left them alone. My first target was Mojave Outpost. I quite like Jackson, Ghost and Lacey, so it actually invoked some strange emotions to kill them all. Lacey in particular, since she's not even a solider. This seems to be one of the big benefits of a Legion run, you can have much larger gun fights at NCR bases than you can Legion outposts (more of them, too). I imagine this character seeing the Legion as a necessary evil (buys into Caesar's dialectical approach to politics), so I've avoided anything sadistic like killing Sgt. Teddy. Toyed with the set scale for the first time to make the character just slightly larger than Lanius. I'd love to hear your thoughts about your own Legion runs, and would be interested in any mod recommendations you may have to improve the Legion experience. [link] [comments] | ||

First Time Playing Progress Question Posted: 13 Nov 2019 12:49 AM PST It's actually my first playthrough and i did all the PG quests, switched NCR, did the quests in Nipton and Novac and those areas then went to Vegas. Got the chip and gave it to House. As the game has been out a long time I have a general idea how the story goes and don't want spoilers but is being at this point in the quest still "early" in the game? I wanna do as many side quests as possible before having to pick sides and it just seems I've not done any for the other factions really. Every tweak, every trick every idea you can google to solve your stuttering issues in new vegas. You even install a lower resolution version of the texture pack you are currently using. But that doesn't work But! if you disable your texture pack, you notice it's fine. But didn't you just buy this new gaming machine? It is a beast and should have no issues with texture packs. After all, many videos online show people running solid frame-rates with better textures than you are using. It can't be an engine limitation either for the same reasons. Hardlinking. When you use a modern mod manager it uses Hardlinking. This tricks your file system into thinking the mod files are in the games actual data folder. This is convenient since you can uninstall mods this way with the click of a button without any of the extra hassle. The games engine does have a limitation on this though. Specifically, landscape lods. Which if you just move the textures/landscape/lod folder in your texture pack of choice to the game data folder directly it frees up the delay on the distant land loading in and fixes every trace of stuttering outside. Its also still easy enough to uninstall since normally there's nothing in that folder without mods. My game now runs flawlessly outdoors and nobody on google had this answer. So here's to you random internet person. tl;dr Its your texture packs textures/landscape/lod folder that should be moved directly in the games files not hardlinked by a mod manager. Posted: 12 Nov 2019 11:01 AM PST I want to start by saying, I am not a newbie to gaming, and can usually figure things out quite easy, however I am stuck and frustrated. A co-worker gave me a copy of FNV for X-Box 360, and I was excited to try it, as I've never played a Fallout game. Straight out of the gate I am being murdered instantly by Victor the robot. When I youtube game play, it shows the toon talking to Victor...HE WON'T LET ME... He just blows me up, and I can't kill him no matter what I do. I took money out of the register at the little store and it said I already had a reputation...is that why this is happening. Please laugh all you want, I'm laughing...WTH. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong... Or am I supposed to try and stay away from him until I find the guy in my first quest? TIA [link] [comments] | ||
