Why doesn’t anyone in Fallout just use pre-war money as currency?

I’m curious as to why nobody used any form of a shield in any of the fallout games

I never got around to why Fallout doesn't have any shields. For example, good shields would have been road signs, spare car doors, doors, etc. it would have been useful to fend off enemies who wield melee weapons or small arms. Plus they could have been used to block doorways or something.

Are repeaters and old six shooters used because they're easier to make?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 01:07 AM PST

Let's face it. In real life an M16 is superior to a Winchester in almost every way, and there's a reason why most armies choose bolt action over repeaters.

I know it's to give the game a western atmosphere but I was thinking why in lore anyone would make or use an old gun when you could have a modern assualt rifle. Then it hit me, the gun runners don't make the "cowboy" weapons. They're made by small gunsmiths in towns like Goodsprings because they're easier to make without dedicated factories.

What do you guys think of my theory?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 02:09 PM PST

Ik it purify water but does it just take in big amounts of water frm the ocean and put it back in the ocean or do they have to go directly into the water barrel

Why don’t the various wastelands have regional names for wasteland critters?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 07:40 PM PST

For instance, Ghouls, both feral and normal, are known as Ghouls everywhere in post-war America. Roaches everywhere are known as "Radroaches" same with scorpions and "Radscorpions". Deathclaws everywhere share the same name. Even wasteland critters that look completely different between games such as Mirelurks are known as Mirelurks everywhere. And old fashioned bears that are now known as Yaoguai are called that all the way in Utah as well as Boston, DC, and West Virginia.
