I will never sell the Lincoln’s Repeater, and in my opinion, is one of the best rifles in the game.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:45 AM PDT

I love the unlisted side quests, and the one to sell all of Lincoln's stuff and related items is a great way to get caps at a lower level. The way I build my character, small guns come in handy, and the Lincoln's Repeater is hands down the best rifle. It can be repaired with hunting rifles which are plentiful, and with the DLC, you can make an almost unlimited supply of .44 mag ammo. I ALWAYS buy all the ammo I can, and make a beeline for the Museum of History.

Change my view. I'm open to discussion.

what's the most wholesome quest in fallout 4?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:54 PM PDT

What would you like to see in a Remastered New Vegas?

Fallout combat needs to have lower overall health/damage like Fallout 1 did.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 09:50 AM PDT

While Fallout 1 did suffer from enemies spamming stim-packs in Combat, a single missile would kill almost anything in the game. (Such as Supermutants, which died in a single rocket.)

Fallout 3 meanwhile, has enemies shrug off rockets and atom help you if you go into any of the DLC max level, as the final boss in Anchorage/the swamp folk in Lookout or say, the Feral Ghoul Reaver from Broken Steel take an absurd amount of damage to kill (The Swamp Folk can even survive Gauss Rifle Headshots.), it's not fun, it's not fair, they're just tedious damage sponges (That get free damage that bypass your armor in Lookout, because that's totally good game design.)

NV meanwhile overhauls the armor system, which means this is generally somewhat less of a problem. (Though I hear that Lonesome Road adds obnoxious level scaled enemies because I guess people wanted bullet sponges back so it's only really gone in the base game from what I've played of it.)

And I've heard 4 also somewhat brings it back. (But not as bad as 3.)

IMO, Fallout needs to have rarer powerful weapons but have them be powerful, Combat should be less about two bullet sponges duking it out and instead have both the player and enemies have less overall health, while it wasn't perfect in 1, it was still better than 3 and there should be less "This enemy has a fuckton more health because you're max level.", If I'm going to be fighting enemies that take so much damage they might as well be in power armor, just make them wear power armor and super mutants shouldn't need more than 2-3 rockets to die.

New to Reddit and wanted to show off my current sniper rifle. If that is allowed here.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 08:23 PM PDT

From the Combined Arms NV mod, and then heavily modded in game after leveling my science and gun nut. Plus finding the "instigating" legendary and applying it. Name is my doing, lol.

Anybody else think night stalkers are possibly the spookiest creature in fallout?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 08:03 PM PDT

Just went into blood borne cave and holy shit bodies of a mountain lion with tails and heads of a rattlesnake? Definitely the creepiest to me.

Ghouls remind me of zombies not too scary. Super mutants are intimidating for their strength but overall not scary. Nightkin will jumpscare you but aren't scary after the fact. Night stalkers though didn't even have to use witchcraft or jump scares they just look freaky as hell.

What was the most impactful location in any Fallout game for you?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 01:53 PM PDT

For me, it's the super-duper-mart in Fallout 3. Whilst fairly arbitrary, it's the location where I totally believed I was surviving in a post apocalyptic world. Possibly because the layout of the store is exactly the same as my local supermarket, but idk.

Other than that, The Old Town from Fallout 1 gave off an effectively grimy atmosphere.

Playing Fallout: New Vegas for the first time ever! What do I need to know?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 01:10 AM PDT

What was your biggest problem with New California?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:42 AM PDT

I've just finished NV and 3 and I'm hurting for more. I read a few times that New California kinda fell apart at the end but for someone who doesn't really care how it interferes with existing canon how does it hold up? What's the main drawbacks and are there any other good or better DLC sized mods I can try out?

You know the feeling as a low level.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 09:01 PM PDT

You are a lvl 13 in fallout 4. You've just gotten a new weapon and upgraded it as much as you can. And you go do some trading and stuff. Then you head off to explore new lands and think "ah i can finally try out my new weapon" and as you finally take your shot at the raider before you... You realise.. The new weapon you have.. Is absolute shit.. And you take like 2 pixels off the raiders health.. Then you quit the game and blow up your pc.. Well not really but thats normally how it felt.

Any characters you think are so good that you wish they'd come back in some manner in future titles?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:48 PM PDT

For me, It's Joshua Graham. Maybe it's the great voice work, or maybe just his design, but he's just such a cool character with an interesting backstory, philosophy and redemption arc. Plus, like, the dude survived being set on fire AND being thrown into a canyon. That dude has an inhuman will to live.

I get that by any reasonable measure he'd probably die of old age at some point, but it would be interesting if he left behind some kind of legacy that other people brought up in the future.

Anyway, are there any characters that you really like that you'd want to appear again?

    My Mr house theory

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:00 AM PDT

Is Mr house a member of the enclave? Or was during the pre war. The enclave during the pre war were high ranking U.S military, large company owners, and political figures. I'd only make sense that Mr house was a member because it was military contacts that informed him how many nukes were aimed at Vegas and most likely those contacts were enclave, he also had technology that keeps him alive longer like from the vault in fallout 4, who owns the vaults? Vault tech, who is highly involved in the enclave? Vault tech so my theory is Mr house was suppose to flee to the oil rig as the rest of the enclave but in a attempt to keep Vegas for the enclave or for himself he stayed and took out most of the nukes with his weaponry, also keep in mind he was preparing for this long before the nukes dropped so he probably never attended to come to the oil rig if indeed this theory is true. The enclave probably assumed house dead so that's why they never came looking for him, and he probably didn't care about the enclave nor for it's idealogy so he didn't seek them. If you have more proof to support this or counter proof to go against it please tell me

Fallout 4 [XB1] annoying glitch with automatron where half of the leg options don't work? Please help?!

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 01:53 AM PDT

As the title says i was building my settlements (I'm nearly 7 days into this new save file so I'm not deleting it) when I plopped down a robot work bench in sunshine tidings trying to make a sentry bot for the settlement but when I got to the legs it broke so first the robobrain treads are really small giving the robot the appearance it's floating but they have the walking animation of the assaultron (you can tell by the arms) and a similar problem with sentry legs where the sentry legs are ALOT smaller and have a different animation? Is there a fix for this? Please help

How do some people have titles under their usernames when they post? I’ve seen one with “Novac” under it and one with “Legion” under it.. things like that. Is that something I can edit? Or is this dumb question?

    Rechargeable Fusion Cores

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:14 AM PDT

I wish Bethesda makes rechargeable fusion cores in Fallout 5. They can be recharged at the generators where we currently find them. Those generators shouldn't have them from start and when we put them in, the lights of the building go out (providing stealth mechanism) the raiders become alert and come looking to fix it.

When we remove them lights come back on.Generator should have a single recharge before the socket burns out. While some have already used sockets.

Why do people hate pipe weapons? They make sense considering the situation most people in the wasteland will be in. Not everyone (most people) won't have access to advanced firearms and would need to make them themselves.

Ideas for the Fallout TV show.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2021 11:19 PM PDT

Hey guys, I was thinking earlier about the upcoming Fallout TV show that Amazon is making in tandem with Bethesda and was trying to come up with ideas that they could potentially do for the series. I feel that the best setting would have to be the Midwest so that they could finally get some of the lore of the region set in stone and we would finally know what aspects from Fallout: Tactics would be in the official canon. The TV show could also potentially be the perfect bridge between the East and West Coast and we would get some common ground and see how different ideologies/factions would either merge or conflict with one another. I would love to see some new interesting groups of people that could be introduced into later game titles, hopefully not just the typical raider factions and bandits that we have seen in the past. I think the Brotherhood of Steel is horribly overdone, however, if they decide to implement the Midwestern Chapter I think they could make it more refreshing by dropping the techno-fetishists act alongside the humanitarian aspects that most rogue chapters seem to adopt. If they obtain a unique outlook in the Wasteland then I would be content with their addition. Another thing to note is that I hope they don't add Super Mutants just for the sake of brand recognition. If we see any of our mutie friends I would like it to be an extremely rare occurrence and the ones in question be remnants of the Master's Army as seen in Jacobstown in Fallout: New Vegas. I'm really interested in what the community has to say for this upcoming project so please comment below if you've had any interesting thoughts about this!
