I played Fallout 4 on console for 5 years with very limited modding capabilities. First PC build and 250+ mods later, my dream of transforming this game has finally came true

Is it ever explained what Caesar’s issue with women is?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 01:21 PM PDT

I've played Vegas plenty of times, and I'm currently doing a female Legion run inspired a few posts I've seen here. I don't think I've ever seen it explained why Caesar has such a negative view of women. The slave Siri mentions to you that you're the first free women she's seen in a long time, and they even forbid you from fighting in the arena if you're a woman.

Its strange since the Blackfoot tribe, which is the foundation of his legion, supposedly had female leaders. Also he is a former member of the Followers of the Apocalypse, which has plenty of women in leadership positions.

And even though their rights were limited, women still had a prominent role in ancient Roman society when it came to domestic & business related affairs, but Caesar decided to relegate women to the status of slaves even though he modeled the Legion after ancient Rome.

TIL you can actually skip the radio to the next song in Fallout 4

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 05:20 PM PDT

All you do is mouse over the station and press E (or whatever your use key is) and it will skip to the next song/dialogue. Mind blown.

I have no idea if console has a button for it or not.

‘Harold’ is the best fallout character. (Spoilers for fallout 1, fallout 2 and fallout 3).

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:34 AM PDT

He has possibly been through the most of any other character in fallout lore, above and beyond even Raul. His life is just comedically, yet tragically, just getting worse and worse as his life slowly continues. He's one of the only recurring characters (Maxson, Tandi, maybe no-bark, being the only others I can think of) and it really sucks how reguardless if you kill or spare him in fallout 3, he's still implanted into the capital wasteland.

My Fallout New Vegas Desert Ranger: Honest Hearts Edition statue arrived today and it's all that I hoped for.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 11:25 PM PDT

Glad the pants weren't as yellow as they initially looked like on the Bethesda Store page. The fact he's holding The Survivalist's rifle is what makes this statue for me.

What is the most morally correct option to take in the "Honest Hearts" DLC?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 03:43 PM PDT

The following are my beliefs on the best possible outcome for the Honest Hearts DLC in Fallout: New Vegas. First, to understand which ending is morally superior, we must understand several key characters and factions, and I will give a brief description of all of them.

Sorrows Tribe - Natives of Zion who worship a deity known as "The Father".

Dead Horse Tribe - Natives of Dead Horse point who revere Joshua Graham.

Daniel - A Mormon missionary who is attempting to convert the Sorrows to Mormonism.

Joshua Graham - "The Burned Man" A former missionary who taught the Dead Horse tribals how to use firearms.

Randal Dean Clark - "The Father" "The Survivalist" A former soldier who survived the Great War and helped the Sorrows establish themselves in Zion.

By the time the DLC takes place, the Sorrows have been living in Zion for 158 years. They started as a group of 24 school children who escaped from a place they called "The School". Randal Dean Clark, who had been living in Zion after the bombs fell, decided to make it his duty to protect and teach those children so that they may prosper. He always stayed hidden, but left books and other gifts for them. He signed all of his notes to them as "The Father", and when he was on the verge of death from lung cancer, he left them one last note where he gifted them Zion to make up for the sorrows they've faced in their lives.

Now, 158 years later, Daniel has integrated himself into the Sorrows society, noticing that they are a peaceful tribe, he figures that they will be receptive to his teachings. Daniel is acting in the same manner as missionaries in the United States who tried to convert native americans. He is corrupting their cultural identity.

Joshua Graham and the Dead Horse tribe have moved into the valley of Zion. Joshua wants to help the Sorrows tribe defend themselves from a hostile tribe who has come into the valley. Joshua has already integrated himself as the leader of the Dead Horses, and while they claim to be Mormon, they worship Joshua more than any god.

Daniel's solution to the hostile tribe is evacuating the Sorrows from Zion to avoid any conflict as much as possible. While Joshua wants to kill enough of the hostile tribals and their leader to drive them out and keep Zion for the Sorrows. At first glance, a more peaceful solution is always the more moral one, but you must think about the cultural identity of the tribe before making a decision. They were taught by "The Father" to be peaceful but always strike back against those who would wish to hurt them. If you allow Daniel to evacuate the Sorrows from Zion, not only do they leave their home, one of the cleanest and least irradiated places in the post-war United States, but they go against the wishes of "The Father" by allowing their home to be taken from them. A new Sorrow is added to their list. Even if the player can't convince Joshua Graham to spare the life of the hostile tribe's leader, the Sorrows still stay true to their traditions and defend their home, although their tribal identity is forever altered and they become more hostile.

Also, the dialogue you can get with Joshua Graham while you have the Sneering Imperialist trait is 10/10.

Need help with game crashing in the settlement

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 04:03 AM PDT

I have a problem with my game crashing every time I open inventory in my settlement house. Normally I can run around my house with no significant frame drops or other problems, but recently I havent been able to open inventory. And it's not just pip-boy inventory. Even storing/retrieving items from chests or armor/weapon racks. As soon as I open the interface that let's me transfer gear, the game crashes.

I'm on PS5 playing PS4 version of FO4. I don't run too many mods. These are the mods I have installed (in that order): - Fallout 4 Unofficial Patch - Unlimited Companion Ammo - Unlimited Crafting Materials - No Settlement Build Limit

The settlement I'm using is Sanctuary, population is only 15. Pretty much only populated by my companions + 4 random settlers to run 4 stores.

The game only crashes when I open inventory in my house. Outside of the house everything works fine. I thought maybe I have too many building elements, and the game simply can't handle so many assets, but im sure I've seen settlements that are a lot bigger than this, with custom assets and so on. Mine has no custom/modded buildings, everything is stock.

I recorded a 2 min video to "show off" my settlement and house, maybe it will give you an idea what could be causing the problem. At the end of the video you see me press X on the armor rack that would open the item transfer menu. That's when the video ends, because the game crashed at that point. And it does this every time I open inventory UI. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

    Settlement Video

TLDR: Game crashes in my settlement house every time I open inventory. Other than that no performance issues that usually come with crashes. Included a video "tour" of the settlement, hoping it would help find the problem.

The Master is the best Fallout Boss and let me tell you why.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 08:24 PM PDT

Of course, you can simply shoot at him, but you could also join him and reveal the location of Vault 13 or you could find one fatal flaw in his master race that ultimately dooms them and realizing all he had done was in vain, blows himself up.

Also, that multi voice thing just added to how creepy he was. There will never be another character like The Master and honestly, I'm ok with that, because you just can't make another Master.

Ok hear me out - Fallout St. Louis

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 05:45 PM PDT

    • located in the middle of the country, this hasn't been seen in fallout yet

    • got a couple good landmarks that could be points of interest in the game - the arch, the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, Busch stadium, Anheuser Busch brewery.

    • the real city itself is pretty small, a future fallout game could represent the entirety of downtown St Louis at close to real scale. The surrounding metropolitan area can be used however the game needs.

    • the theme can take from the Lewis and Clark related frontier history of St Louis. The city was historically a hub for river trading and a was a confluence point for many frontier people. I think this would fit quite well into fallout lore and give the game a unique theme. In the post apocalyptic world, all of this pre-industrial capability would have restored importance.

    • St Louis is somewhat of a dying city, but it's golden age was in the 1950's. This sets up endless opportunity to run parallels that add real-world salience to the story. Maybe it's just like the real world - STL was a booming city before the bombs fell, now the people of the city are trying to regain it's former glory. Maybe it flips reality on its head - wasteland STL is a beacon of prosperity, the safest and most prosperous place for hundreds of miles. A thriving St Louis would be reminiscent of the 1950's, like everything else in fallout. However you do it, juxtaposing the reality of growth and decay between the real world and the fictional fallout world would make for a great game that adds to the complexity and relevance of the fallout world.

    • there would be lots of guns lying around

I will buy fallout 76 soon

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 07:22 PM PDT

Now this might be an unpopular opinion to this Fanbase but I must say it I think fall 76 is better now. Now the reason why I said this is because Bethesda is trying their hardest to fix the game I mean the game was great on paper an multiplayer follow game where you can hang out with other players build settlement and engaging side quest but however when it was released it was disappointing to some with a lot of bugs, No npc's and subscription services that were really unnecessary Micro transactions and of course lousy pre-order bonuses like a duffle bag that wasn't even that special. However since 2018 Bethesda has been doing their hardest to fix the game wastelanders Was a start by adding new quests as well as adding npc to the game which made Game war and merciful most of the bugs have been patched. Then there's steel dawn which brought back a great concept from the past games and something important to the law as well as having more interesting exploitation of the beginnings of the brotherhood of steel walked in load it was kind of forgettable I thought it was this big immersive thing but it was just a settlement update it's similar to the three updates from fallout 4 (FYI fallout 4 is my favorite game of all time and I will explain this later). Then lastly steel reign The latest DLC/expansion to this game honestly it expands on a storyline from an Existing you'll see and it adds more to it we see the inner conflict of the brotherhood which is interesting the only times we see this is in fallout 4 with scribe haylen defending paladin dance that's really interesting plus super mutants are more important in the story which is cool. Overall this game start out rocky but got better over time it's similar to Star Wars battlefront 2 when it started everyone hated it Morley of the Micro transactions and lackluster story I got better overtime it's like wine it gets better with time

Playing Old World Blues for the second time and it became my favorite DLC in the franchise

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:24 AM PDT

the first time I played I was just trying to get levels and loot very fast so I didn't pay any attention to the story, I think I also used console commands in moments the game was difficult, now in my second round I am playing it calmly, and god damn this is amazing. The main plot, characters, the comedy, locations, enemies, loot and all the information you can find about Sierra madre, Elijah, Christine and Ulysses among other stuff you can find in the Mojave, it's simply great how it seems everything was done extremely detailed and with dedication, can't believe I didn't pay attention to anything on my first run.

Fallout 4 raiders (and some other human enemies) are way too optimistic.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 07:54 PM PDT

I'm talking about Fallout 4's enemies because that's what I'm playing at the moment. I honestly can't remember if it's exactly like that in other games.

The scene repeats every time you enter a raider-infested building. Using your Power Armor, you are slaughtering enemies one by one, with minimal effort. The strongest enemies using energy weapons or high-caliber rifles are being annihilated by you without mercy. You're literally a walking tank.

Until the time you walk into a room and a Raider runs up to you with a police baton, firmly believing it's going to take you down.

Seriously, at these times I can't stop laughing, because you can see the Raider's commitment to killing you, even if those little smacks wouldn't make a scratch on your metal shell.

Would it be so difficult to develop the artificial intelligence of enemies (humans at least) to avoid this embarrassing situation? It would be more interesting to see weaker enemies (with meelee weapons) running away from you, seeking cover or else desperately looking for a more powerful weapon at least the times you came across them while wearing a Power Armor.

Honestly, I can't stand all this kamikaze bullshit over and over again.

Does the classical radio mean that the institute is in Appalachia?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 02:17 PM PDT

I mean on fallout 4 we learn that the institute uses the radio station to do stuff. Is it possible that there is more than one station or am I missing something?
