    Trudy's Clever Gun Placement

    Posted: 24 Jun 2021 03:17 AM PDT

Just a small detail you might have missed, trudy keeps a gun in a glass next to her and if you shoot her in the face she will grab it and(obviously)use it

Chief Hanlon is one of the best characters in the game

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 01:42 PM PDT

Every time I'm investigating the NCR radio stations for the quest "Return to Sender", I look forward to meeting Chief Hanlon at the end. His voice acting by Kris Kristofferson is fantastic and all of his writing seems genuine for a proper veteran scared of the East and the future.

Just having the option to [continue] rather than persistently asking questions adds to this, allowing him to tell his stories. And both endings to his story are incredibly sad, although I won't add them here just in case there's a single person who hasn't played through this quest.

My other favourite characters are Dr Mobius and Joshua Graham for obvious reasons, but I feel Hanlon should get some more appreciation.

    Varmit rifle useful?

    Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:34 AM PDT

I have a fully upgraded varmit rifle (night scope, silencer, extended magazine) is it useful later in the game? I'm asking this because it's 5.5 pounds (I'm keeping my 9mm pistol cause it's only 1.5 pounds). Should I just get rid of the varmit rifle and make space for something else?

Mod that removes the delay when you unholster your pistol

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 06:27 PM PDT

Hey guys, anyone know any mods that can remove the delay? the one you get when you unholster a sidearm and then cannot shoot and have to wait a few sec to actually be able to shoot, making quick draw seems not that great when you cant fire the moment the gun is out. Thanks!

    Keep Going In Circles

    Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:19 AM PDT

Help! I'm trying to get to Jacobstown to take Rex to the doctor for about 2hrs now and I just keep going in circles. I always land back at Freeside. I started from Goodsprings but I just can't find the route to Jacobstown. I'm playing on backwards compatible Xbox one.

Fallout new Vegas forces you to join the NCR (kinda)

    Posted: 23 Jun 2021 11:42 PM PDT

Throughout my thousands of hours in the game, throughout which I've probably completed the entire game top to bottom more than enough times to realise that fallout new Vegas forces you to join the NCR. Now when I say forces you I don't mean that's the only way to complete the game, rather that the game constantly steers you into the side of the NCR. The first encounter we have with the two groups in nipton and the Mojave outpost show the legion being objectively evil. The streets are decorated with crosses yet you as a low level courier are powerless to stop them. Informing the rangers show how terrified and hopeless the ncr feel they're starting to realise they're stretched too thin and are gonna be on the loosing side by the time shit hits the dam, excuse the pun.

Now this is a great start, you've got two completely opposing sides and you begin to see the beginning of a war, the problem is this isn't the beginning of any development. It is the NCR it is the legion.

The path is clearly put before the courier to start siding with the ncr, as your time continues you begin to see even more flaws and how some citizens of the ncr hate that they still have to pay taxes but get no protection because they're so thinned out which is what's said at the Mojave outpost. The NCRs flaws begin to show a great time for the legions positives to shine, but no all we get is "well....they're good for trading I guess?" Great so do I side with the good but flawed or the evil. Unless you're deliberately trying to be evil you probably won't side with the legion, not to mention how many companions and quests it locks you out of.

New Vegas doesn't show a reason to join the legion other than haha nuclear Roman go slash

Whilst the ncr kinda tries to be interesting it gives it all away in the first hour

Yes man and house are pretty much the same quests just slightly different outcomes, which are completely useless considering the game has nothing after the ending slide.

TL:DR new Vegas makes the player want to side with the ncr because it's the most interesting, developed and morally good outcome seeing as how the legion are simply cut evil.

House and yes man quests fucking suck
