New game, no dlc need some tips/advice/commentary

Like title says, no dlc bc I don't have the disk with me and just downloaded from game pass until I get the money up to buy digital fully.

I started a new game and am almost level 10 and barely in the main quest (going to the vault to find dad in the vr machines) and I overall don't have much experience with the game other mechanics outside of main game/dlc questlines, so while I do just a vanilla play through, any tips on things I should do? Important quests or uniques to find? Anything I shouldn't do before eventually playing with dlc on an existing save, etc?

And any other comments are appreciated
