Why was the Enclave Oil Rig in the Pacific, closer to China, rather than the Atlantic? Posted: 13 May 2021 06:52 PM PDT It seems kinda weird that they would choose to put their main base of operations in an ocean that was, presumably, under siege from the Chinese. I get that the USN had superiority, but you'd still figure they would hesitate to choose the Pacific as their base of operations. By comparison, there's no threat in the Atlantic, and it's near the Eastern Seaboard, the original 13 colonies, which would surely hold symbolic value to the Enclave. Is there any reason they would choose to do this, or am I just overthinking it? EDIT: To be clear, I don't mean that the Enclave would fear China itself, rather I was asking why they wouldn't fear a Chinese equivalent to the Enclave post-war. [link] [comments] |
