Anyone else play Fallout mostly for the interesting take on Americana culture? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:34 AM PDT Whether its 3, NV, 4, or 76, I always find myself mostly engrossed in the interesting perspectives and takes it gives us on Americana culture and how certain aspects of our (if you're also American) culture would fade, grow, or even destroy us all in a post-apocalyptic hellscape. It's often why I'm so forgiving about the shortcomings of each installment, because there just isn't another series out there that explores this side of American culture in the same way - The most exciting part of every Fallout game for me isn't the systems etc., but figuring out what city (and thus, what part of American culture) we'll see in the frame of Fallout. [FALLOUT 3] Would you recommend to remove the level Cap in Fallout 3? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 03:18 AM PDT Hey, I'm on my first playthrough of Fallout 3 rn, yesterday I finished the main story. A long while ago I hit level 30, now I'm going to take on the DLCs, would you recommend to remove the level cap? I think it weird to not be able to level up anymore especially with so many DLCs to take on now. [link] [comments] |
What faction in the series give you the worst first impression. Posted: 19 Apr 2021 05:47 AM PDT For me it was the railroad in fallout4. I had only heard of them from passing comments from people. I wondered in to some tunnel and found there front door, and guessed there password on my second try. Leaving me having less respect for them than the minutemen who are a dead faction as soon as you meet them lol. Also ive only played fallout 4. [link] [comments] |
Anyone want to chip in??? Nipton, CA Posted: 19 Apr 2021 06:30 PM PDT Hi Everyone! So I was watching the nightly Haystack news with the wifey, and one of the stories was based on how the legitimate town of Nipton, CA is for sale... Can you imagine making a cosplay based town exclusively for Fallout Fans?? IMO it could be badass! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 09:29 PM PDT Been playing FNV for the first time after FO4. It's been great. But leveling up is a little frustrating because I can't really plan out my build on the fly, and using an online guide feels like cheating. It's all really an issue of presentation. The "power creep" in the game is good with its skill point system. It forces me to make risky dicisions. Like taking chems, or using up precious resources, hoping the payoff will be greater than the cost to hack that terminal or pick that lock, or engage a group of enemies. But when it comes to leveling up a character, it's harder to remember exactly what perks are going to be available next, since its not presented in a easily digestible way. And leveling could take as little as as few minutes to hours. Enough time to forget. This forces me to pick a perk I don't really want, instead of saving a "perk point" to be used whenever I level up a skill enough to take one that I do. I'm sure I'll eventually "git gud". But this post is more for future titles. [link] [comments] |
[Fallout 4] No Dialogue Sound Or Lip Movement After Intro Posted: 20 Apr 2021 02:41 AM PDT Ok so basically, I downloaded Fallout 4 and played it a bit but after I restarted my pc, I somehow could not hear any dialogue sound after the intro in black and white. The lips dont move either. I tried reinstalling it and that didn't work. I read some stuff online about this and this seems to be a rather common 'bug'. Some said to go the properties of the playback device and change it to something specific. Did that, and the dialogues still didn't work. My DirectX already is on the latest version. What do I do now? [link] [comments] |
Certain areas in New Vegas lowers framerate. Any fixes? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 04:05 AM PDT I was wondering if there is a fix or workaround with the framerate drops in certain areas of New Vegas such as Camp McCarran, Monorails, or the inside of casinos? any help would be appreciated thanks in advance. The game runs at a stable 60+ fps except for these specific fps heavy areas which would tank the framerate to 30-28 fps. [link] [comments] |
What would you want the storyline for Fallout 5 to be? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 10:01 AM PDT So Fallout: New Vegas was finding the Platinum Chip, Fallout 3 finding your dad and Fallout 4 finding your son, I think it'd be good if the story for Fallout 5 was to find a cure for something, like a cure for ghouls. It'd also be good if had a story around Vault-Tec, cos I like the conspiracy that the Enclave worked with Vault-Tec to set off the Great War using a stolen nuke as to create more profits for Vault-Tec. Something like that anyway, what about you guys? :) [link] [comments] |
Which playable character has the most impressive feats Posted: 19 Apr 2021 07:05 PM PDT I've been looking at who people think is the most impressive and lots of people put the vault dweller really low a lot of the times. I think that's massively underselling his achievements since he did walk right into Mariposa military base by himself and slaughtered every super mutant in there and then did the exact smae thing to the master. Always running out of ammo (fallout 4) Posted: 19 Apr 2021 05:32 PM PDT I'm pretty new to fallout and everything Is very confusing, but the most frustrating thing to me in this game is my apparently constant ammo shortage. I've done what all of my more experienced friends told me, scavenged every item I could for caps to buy more ammo, looted all the corpses but I still find myself dying because Iran out of bullets in all of my weapons and I got bopped on the head by several raiders or mutants that i hadn't managed to kill. I have pretty decent aim so what can I do? My current theory is that I use VATS just a little too often and almost always at the wrong time [link] [comments] |
Is there any reason why we don't have more storage space for mods on fallout 4 Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:18 AM PDT Like I really wanna be able to have all the mods I want, but I'm limited to 1.5 gigabytes of mod space. I wish they would at least increase the amount of space. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 06:36 PM PDT I have a PS4 and every time I start up Fallout 4, it tells me I cannot save because I must remove 0 KB from my system storage. Idk what the hell that means but I just want to play some goddamn fallout 4 in peace. When I go to look, there's a massive amount of free storage available for fallout 4 to use. I've deleted whole characters for this to work and it's not. On top of this, Creation Club and Mods on the main menu are darkened and I cannot click them. Does anybody have any kind of help? I think I'm gonna move the rest of my characters to a usb drive or something, see if that does it. Edit: it started to work for a few minutes. Now it's not. Apparently it's a known bug. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games. A real shame I seemingly can't play anymore. Perhaps one day.. [link] [comments] |
How difficult would it be to start playing 76 for the first time? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 11:57 AM PDT Been a fallout player for a long time, so im familiar with the games. I am interested in trying 76 but avoided it cuz of the initial bad press. Now i know a lot has been improved, and im not asking "is this game good" or anything like that. I purely wanna know is it a game a person who hasn't ever played yet, be able to pick up today and not be completely destroyed by veterans without a chance? [link] [comments] |

(FNV) Game stops responding when selecting file and staring new save. Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:30 PM PDT Background info: I know that New Vegas does not like Windows ten. I have been having this issue for the past month or so. If necessary I will upload my load order.\ Also I have almost all of the fixes to help FNV run better on win10. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:54 AM PDT I recently bought Fallout 3, liked the game and want to buy all the DLCs for the game (I don't want the GOTY version), will I be able to play with my newly downloaded DLCs in a world where I started without them? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 11:35 PM PDT I accidentally helped the omertas to poison the strip, who do I kill to stop it? what are the ramifications of killing the top bosses who are legion? tried it and all of the omerta thugs attack [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 02:06 PM PDT (You can skip this part, it contains FH spoilers and not really important) So I recently beat Far Harbor. I went with the peaceful option. But this made me have conflicted feelings, and made me feel like; yeah, I did the right thing and I'm a good role model of what a Minutemen general should be but at the same time is what I did for the Minutemen good? So. The I initial reason I destroyed the brotherhood was not for peace but to boast and show off how I'd destroyed a major faction as a simple general of the Minutemen, so when the time came and I went to Far Harbor I could say "Everyone look at me! Yup! That's right, I signal handily destroyed the BOS" it was very selfish but I did. Now, I wouldn't have just done THAT I still realized that what I would do would be wrong so I convinced myself that it was "for the greater good" a lot like DiMA. I made myself believe this because the brotherhood was still scaring the people. I also thought about what would happen in the future but after completing Far Harbor and doing what was apparently right I feel wrong for what did, like it really wasn't the best for the commonwealth... was it? Is what I did good for the commonwealth or what I just selfish. If you have any questions please ask, thanks. [link] [comments] |
