[SPOILERS] Finished Dead Money and realized you have to “let go,” one way or another. Posted: 16 Mar 2021 11:56 AM PDT I beat Dead Money last night, trapping Elijah in his forever tomb. Snuck out with all the gold, more money than I'd ever need or want. And yet after the slides run and I take the walk back to the Mojave, I'm struck with the realization that had to let go of something else to get all that - my revenge. Waking up with a bomb collar on, being forced around by a maniac, I wanted to kill Elijah from the moment he started talking. And yet when presented with the choice to claim revenge in full, I chose not to. I chose the money, the potential it brings. Would I have chosen the money if Elijah walked free instead? No. But knowing he's finished in that vault is comfort enough to "let go" of the thirst for revenge. And the Sierra Madre pays out in lessons learned. [link] [comments]

Having trouble with the 4Gb patch. Posted: 17 Mar 2021 08:33 AM PDT I'm going through the modding guide on the subreddit for FNV, and I got up to step 8 which is just checking if everything is working. Getnvseversion returned fine, but when I entered getislaa into the console, it returned with: SCRIPTS: Script 'SysWindowCompileAndRun' , line 1; Script Command "getislaa" not found. The modding guide suggests this is because I installed the JIP NVSE Plugin incorrectly, but after reinstalling it, being very careful to follow the instructions to the letter, it still returned the same message. Does anyone know what is going wrong and how I can fix it? [link] [comments]
What would having a science skill of 80 mean in the wasteland? Posted: 17 Mar 2021 04:42 AM PDT Let's say you are a character or person with a science skill of 80 along with the following skills:
What would your experience be like within the wasteland? Or how would such an NPC get by? [link] [comments]
[HELP]Cant start Happy trails expedition Posted: 17 Mar 2021 08:27 AM PDT I cant start Happy trails expedition because of the weight limit? Is there a way to start this quest without removing my items? [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Mar 2021 06:50 AM PDT im planning to do a wild card run, and was wondering: do i have to complete the quests in a specific order, or can they be completed in any order? (if so, whats the best order?) NOTE: i have a yes man companion mod. [link] [comments]

What does having 70 in the medicine skill really translate to in real life? Posted: 17 Mar 2021 06:25 AM PDT Let's say the person was real or was living in the Mojave as a person with Good Karma. How useful is it really? Another idea: Imagine this person with 70 in Medicine and Science, 50 in Repair and Survival and 30 in everything else. How would things go for them then in the Mojave? What would they do? [link] [comments]
Would’ve been cool to have a Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas easter egg Posted: 16 Mar 2021 08:17 PM PDT maybe a run down convertible on the road to vegas with two skeletons and a bunch of chems and alcohol in the trunk and one of them has a unique old bucket hat and has a cigarette holder in their mouth. I just thought of this recently and thought it would've been a cool little wild wasteland thing similar to the rundown highwayman. [link] [comments]
How would a person with the following skills be perceived and survive in the wasteland? Posted: 17 Mar 2021 05:21 AM PDT Scenario: Someone with Good karma (70%) is surviving somehow in the wasteland. They have the following skills.
How would they be perceived? How would they survive in the wasteland? What would they do and how would other factions treat them? [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Mar 2021 07:33 AM PDT In my current playthrough, i decided to not kill vulpes and his legion squad at nipton. I chose to follow him and we went to camp searchlight. There the ncr troops completely wasted vulpes and the legion, i just watched and didnt do anything. Question: will i blamed by caesar for the death of vulpes? or will there be a different text? has anybody ever experienced this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Mar 2021 05:23 PM PDT Over the course of the last few years I've seen many people brag about taking all the Sierra Madre gold at the end of the DLC. Personally, I find it odd. Dead Money is one of the most atmospheric DLCs ever done for the Fallout games, with a compelling and emotional story; its theme of "letting go" can be treated both metaphorically - letting go of one's past, moving on to a new life - as well as literally, with all the gold. The former is depending on our choices in the game, and it's obvious that the "bad" end for any NPC is in one way or another related to them refusing to let go - Dean Domino refuses to give up on his spiteful revenge on Sinclair, Christine perishes while hunting for Elijah, and the old man himself cannot let go of the idea of getting into the vault. And here comes the matter of all that gold stuck in the vault. Obviously, devs did not intend for it all to be taken, for it to be a lesson in the theme of the DLC. And yet players, being players, still found a way to circumvent this without resorting to cheats. It's difficult, but one can, indeed, leave the vault with all those gold bars in their inventory, then slowly slog their way through Mojave to Lucky 38 or wherever they would story the gold. Except... what's the point? It's not like caps/money is hard to come by in New Vegas. With enough saving and all the loot one can get from infinitely spawning legion assassins, the entirety of Sierra Madre gold is much, much more than one could reasonably spend in one playthrough, and of course, having it all drives the entire point of the story moot. Perhaps I just don't understand the motives of most New Vegas players. I'd love to hear your arguments! [link] [comments]

New to the game, feel like I'm stuck Posted: 17 Mar 2021 12:41 AM PDT Hi y'all, I just picked up FNV and I am doing the main quest. I've helped the people of Goodsprings, beat the powder gang, went to primm, novac, bouldercity, and got the quest "Ring-a-ding-ding" that asks me to confront benny. I can't get into the strip because I need an absurd 2000 caps or something, so I go to do more side quests to build caps or skill. I end up doing the one where I help those weirdos try to take off in a rocket but I can't finish that because I need 500 caps for the parts. I don't have any other quests available to me except the DLC. What am I missing? Edit: Oh yeah, I can't help the NCR and the Great Khan fix their problem yet because my speech isn't high enough nor do I have enough caps Edit 2: I feel under leveled Help is appreciated, thank you. Why are .50 rounds 3x heavier in New Vegas than real life? Posted: 16 Mar 2021 09:37 PM PDT Something I wondered. Each .50 caliber round weighs 43 grams. Whilst .45-70 Govt is 25 to 35 grams depending on the variant. Yet the .50 MG are noticeably heavy in the base game. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/.50_MG https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/.45-70_Gov%27t I wouldn't call myself an expert on guns but something doesn't seem right?
