Why after leaving the Tranquility Lane James and Sole Survivor don't free people who were clearly tortured by doctor Braun for so long?

Does the pre-war riot armor exist outside of Lonesome Road?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 09:54 PM PDT

Forgive me, but it's been a while since I did a New Vegas playthrough. From what I understand, the ranger armor is simply the pre-war riot armor you find during Lonesome road. I'm assuming this would mean other police and military installations across the United States would also have this armor, maybe slightly different. Is there lore anywhere indicating this to be true, or is the armor exclusive to that region?

How bad would people's teeth REALLY be considering that dentistry has existed for thousands of years in virtually every culture???

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:05 PM PDT

So we know that in the medieval era people brushed their teeth, used dental tools like toothpastes, herbal mixtures, and used cleaning rags to wipe the teeth.

They had tooth removal widely available even though it wasn't high tech.

    According to wikipedia

As long ago as 3000 B.C., the ancient Egyptians constructed crude toothbrushes from twigs and leaves to clean their teeth. Similarly, other cultures such as the Greeks, Romans, Arabs and Indians cleaned their teeth with twigs. Some would fray one end of the twig so that it could penetrate between the teeth more effectively.

Modern day toothbrushing as a regular habit became prevalent in Europe from the end of the 17th century. The first mass-produced toothbrush was developed in England in 1780. In the United States, although toothbrushes were available at the end of the 19th century, the practice did not become widespread until after the Second World War, when US soldiers continued the toothbrushing that had been required during their military service.

All this considered, would the oral hygiene in some place like say, the Commonwealth, be all that bad?

We do hear guards in Diamond City making jokes about how you can tell your girlfriend is a synth by checking to see if she leaves the cap off the toothpaste, and Diamond City has not one but TWO plastic surgeons....

I'm assuming that although wasteland dental health varies by poverty and location... I'm not convinced that kissing piper/hancock/etc would be repulsive because of rank ass nasty breath.

Join me next time on how bad does Diamond City smell

What are some cannonically tiny towns in the wasteland? Like less than 5 people, not due to engine but legitimately just the smallest settlement possible, temporary or permanent.

Places like Andale and Arefu probably were bigger in reality than we saw, unlike The Republic of Dave which for lore reasons had to be miniscule

Why hasn’t the commonwealth seen any rebuilding?

    Is there any settlement/organization/government that wasn't insane/corrupt/idiotic pre-war?

(FO4) Is the F.M.S. Northern Star a reference to Titanic’s R.M.S. White Star Line?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 03:16 PM PDT

I made the connection while listening to one of Oxhorn's lore videos at work, but he didn't seem to notice or even mention it. Can anyone confirm this?

How many enclave groups are there.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 03:54 PM PDT

because in Fallout 2 you had the West Coast enclave on the oil rig and then in Fallout 3 you had The enclave at Raven Rock in the capital wasteland. I haven't played any other Fallout game besides three four New Vegas and 76. and I know there's The enclave in Fallout 76. So where are the other groups?

What, if anything do we know about the viability of navigation in the open sea? How likely would you be to run into some dangerous before unseen sea creature?

Why is Caesar pronounced two different ways?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:51 AM PDT

    Sometimes it's Kai-Zahr

    Sometimes it's See-Zuhr

Why do people in game pronounce it in two different ways?

What was the death rate? Was there a lockdown like for covid? Is it still around in the wasteland?

    Is the Future-Tec Globe accurate?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 05:16 AM PDT

I've only been playing 76 for a few months, and I keep seeing a huge brown world globe in players camps that spins when activated. As it spins little mushroom clouds dot it's surface. It's really cool and I'd love to have one. But I showed a friend who's been playing for 2 years and he's never seen it. Which got us discussing it and I wondered if it was lore accurate at all.

Why are only old songs played on the radio?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 04:15 AM PDT

Disclaimer: I've only played fo4 so far

In the beginning of fo4 you can hear songs from the 50s and 60s being played on the radio even though it's supposed to take place in 2077.

Was no new music made or were the songs from our past made in their present?
