Looking for a fallout inspired dog name

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 02:02 AM PDT

EDIT; Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I wasn't expecting this blow up like it has but I have plenty of names that I really liked and in a weeks time (MON or TUE) I'll post a picture of him and what name I chose with the first person I remember that suggested it. Thank you again everyone I wasn't expecting so many great suggestions

So I'm about to get a pupper and as much as I love the classic DOG MEAT, my previous dog was named that and I find it would be disrespectful to rename my current dog the same. I haven't welcomed him home yet but He is a boy husky/pyrenees mostly white with some blonde, a blue and brown eye. He's gonna be very fluffy and pretty big. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

(New Vegas) I spent my whole game siding with NCR. I finally got to the Omertas..

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 05:20 AM PDT

Spent the whole game being 'good'.

Told the bosses about Cachino. Helped them out. Diffused situation with NCR.

Then I found a room with a prostitute that had been tortured for several hours (35 Medicine) by Cachino, a member of the Omertas. She was dead on a shitty table

I saved, then killed everyone in the casino with my man Boone - Omertas, gamblers, everyone. It took a long time. And it felt good.

    Thanks for listening

EDIT: Turns out it wasn't Cachino, but another NPC - 'Clanden'. This NPC is also in the Omertas however - they had what was coming either way.

    My rationale it was Cachino:

"If you sit down with Cachino and Sal, in Sals office in regards to Cachinos journal, which mentions Cachino is doing business behind the families back - (you can pickpocket this or get it from his room) - Cachino immediately says he didn't mean to be horrific etc and will try to change his ways. I figured this meant he had been the one to do it. Other NPC's, like the receptionist, also mention Cachino doing bad things to the girls. Joana, in the outdoor area, also confirms it"

This was my reasoning. Oh well, I am glad they are all dead regardless. Farewell my wastelanders

If the Legion in FNV was fleshed out as the game devs originally intended, will there actually be something good to gain from supporting them?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 09:43 PM PDT

It's kinda weird that they just fill in the slot for the typical "generic bad guys" in a videogame when we all know if Obsidian was given much time to flesh out their faction by adding more quests, there could have been actual valid reasons to choose this faction.

I feel like they aren't supposed to be ultimately "bad" as portrayed by their harsh ways of treating others but rather "the end justify the means" kind of way.. The Legion wasn't just given much more quests to somehow prove their point..

We could've had more difficulty in choosing a side imho.

    The courier's lore

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 07:19 PM PDT

This is a legit question, because the timeline of events seems like it could work, but I want to know if there's anything to fully contradict this idea. Is it possible for the Courier to be a synth?

Fallout 76 isnt that bad. (Opinion)

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 09:33 PM PDT

I started paying a week ago with little prior knowledge than internet historians video on the launch ,and ive been loving it! Its really fun to work on my camp and find other players from time to time. Although atoms should be easier to get without paying ,and i did end up buying fallout 1st so i can get the ranger armor and atoms. (Not even a trust vault 13 canteen? Disappointed) But the game isnt as bad as most people paint it to be in my opinion (Note i play on computer)

For Those That Enjoyed My Fallout Comic "Welcome Home!" - I'm going to do a second issue!

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 06:13 AM PDT

Hello everyone! I'm the writer and artist behind the Fallout comic "Welcome Home!"

I wanted to extend a thank you to each and every one of you that took the time out of your day to not only read my project, but to come comment and let me know how it impacted you. That means so much to me as an artist!

After seeing so many kind words and so much support, I've decided that I'm going back in for a second round!

My hope is to create an anthology series of sorts, following various characters across different parts of post-war United States.

The first issue was done during my free time and I'm hoping to transition into doing this type of art as a full-time gig!

View the comic in full at: www.dpfstudios.com/welcome-home-a-fallout-story

What did the Tunnelers of NV: the divide evolve from?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:26 PM PDT

Tunnelers are subterranean, bioluminescent humanoids that can take down Deathclaws. Ulysses thinks radiation mutated them which isn't uncommon. They are venomous and have queens/pack mentality. My question is, off the cuff, what do you think they were?

fallout 2 does an amazing job reepresenting a quasi roman culture

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 04:39 PM PDT

well, after the catastrophy that is star citizen's quasi "Roman" nation i tried to think of examples of how to do the "history repeats itself" moniker in stories from other games... and i'm surprised on how little info i can find about the parallels between vault city and Rome online:

    1. The ruler of Vault City is the "First citizen", which is the official tittle of Roman Emperors from Augutus up to Aurelian (Princeps)
    2. The way VC treats "servants" is also pretty accurate in regards to how Romans treated their slaves, since Rome was known for subjugating surounding areas just so they could get more servants to work for the Citizens
    3. The entire "Healthy" and "martial" aspect of VC, where everyone works for the City, same as in Roman times everyone fought for the concept of Rome.
    4. The tests... boy, is this a good portrayal. If you wanted to become a citizen during Roman times you needed to serve 25 years in the legions, and your survival chances were slim depending on the year you were born in.

are there any more parallels anyone else noticed? Because i can't find them online, but it's done so, soooo subtetly that i'm not surprised. Now that's good lore writting, Obsidian

Is the robot DLC for fall out 4 worth it. I bought it but the save file glitched and I can’t progress read for details please.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 09:28 PM PDT

I have the DLC pass for fallout 4. About halfway through the game but I already have over 60 hours in the game. Really loving all the side quests and what not. So I started the robot dlc killed them for the brain and ADA. I had to build the work bench but I didn't have any aluminum for it. So I thought eh I'll do some side quests naturally find aluminum.

I did about 10 hours of playing then I thought oh I should continue the DLC. Which I tried to do I built the work bench then I have to install a beacon in Ada. Problem is she doesn't have it and I don't. It just lets me customize it. So I look it up apparently it's a common glitch only way to fix it is to load a previous save. I tried that but nope. So I would have to load the save where I first kill the robot with the brain. But that was over 10 hours ago. I already made so much progress in the game and everything.

I can build robots now and stuff just not advance the quest. My question is. Is it even worth it to go back 10 hours to try to fix it. Is the story of the DLC good ? Or is it just mostly killing robots in the same areas. I know I for sure want to do the raider and far harbor dlc since that's new areas and everything.

How did you find the dlc story wise and gameplay wise. Or is the main attraction building and customizing robots which from the looks of it I'm able to do now. Honestly I'm probably not even going to touch that aspect since I have my favorite companions already.

So what do you recommend cut my losses ? And just skip this DLC or is it really worth it and amazing. Because if it's just fighting robots in areas I have been already with little to no interesting story I might just skip it. And do side missions main quest then start the raider dlc.

Ran out of ammo on first playthrough

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 05:21 AM PDT

I just liberated concord and took the minute men back to sanctuary. Is there anywhere I can go nearby to buy ammo? I'm seriously low and down to double barrel shotgun only and one stimpack. The game is on normal mode and I'm finding it very challenging. I don't remember having this much difficulty the last time I played the game and got much farther.

But in that time I was playing in ps4 and the only fallout games that were in that platform were the fo4 and the Fo76, that in that time everyone were complaining about the bugs and the bad multiplayer. Now I have bougth a pc and I want to play another fallout. Which one should I play now? fo76, foNV or fo3?

    sorry for the bad english.

Recently finished my first fallout game

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 10:51 PM PDT

After years and years of bashing on Fallout I actually tried the game for once and I loved it. Even though it was Fallout 76 it was so much fun to grind and do the story and all that stuff. And finding my first set of power armor was crazy and made me so happy. Fallout 76 was very, very fun to play and I want to try and play more Fallout games like New Vegas and 4.

    Tier list for items? (survival)

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 01:03 AM PDT

I'm currently in an early survival game and have been checking online guides for tips.

What I could not find is a clear tier list for food and health items? There is so much to craft, from baked bloatflies to brahmin steaks, all sorts of beverages, etc. And obviously, against that is the limited carry weight.

I would like to equip my sole survivor with the "best" consumption items and leave the rest in my settlements or sell. Best as in 1) it heals a lot, 2) eliminates hunger/thirst after one consumption, 3) weighs little, 4) no rads or other downsides like making you hungry/thirsty, 5) helpful benefits for combat

So something like a bag of essential goodies (food, drinks, drugs) that are must-haves, no matter where I go.
