What kind of retro-futuristic character would you be/or yours main character? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 04:02 AM PST Fallout is a world of retro-futurism, old style, hypertrophy. Plunge into this atmosphere, and imagine who you would be in that world? If it's hard to imagine that, imagine what your character would be based in F4 story. As an example of my character: His name Adrian. Adrian Volkov. Bored philistine, a weasel, with morbid curiosity. In pre-war life, he was a nobody. Or so it seemed. But after bombs fell, was a chance opened up that not everyone gets. Adrian became a ghoul. This opened up many opportunities for satisfying his irrepressible curiosity. As he drifted around the world... until got the Commonwealth, Adrian became embroiled in intrigues wished he could stay away from. Working with local resistance, Adrian worked his way higher and higher, toward mystery that surrounded the Commonwealth world and the Institute. To a secret, that would allow to get a nice prize, and get rid of imposed obligations. Along way, Adrian met a lot different people, pretended to be friends with them, but did not let anyone get close to him. He go a bodyguard, a member of the Brotherhood of steel, who has one big secret. Brotherhood rejected him, and Adrian took him in. This gear is a loyal like dog, that Adrian uses as a bodyguard, and to warm his bed. These are hard times, and danger is getting closer. But Adrian can handle it. In any case, running away is also an option. Main thing, is to have time to mix cards so that all pieces fall into a pile, and destroy each other. Ghoul life is too long, and need to somehow entertain. [link] [comments] |
[FO4] Far Harbor was AMAZING. (Open spoilers) Posted: 03 Mar 2021 05:34 AM PST Very late to the party, but I've been playing FO4 on and off since last summer. I started and completed Far Harbor over the last week. It is not a stretch to say this is some of my favorite Bethesda content in recent memory. I brought Nick along with me. I had heard he was good to have but I never expected the connection to be so personal. DiMA is his "brother"? Hmm... The Mariner was also such a surprisingly interesting addition. I've no idea what will become of her, but at least she has found peace knowing that the Red Death is no more (oh boy, was that a major troll quest...). Anyway, at this point I only have Nuka World left then I'm done with the game. I honestly, sincerely hope the writing and overall quality of Far Harbor carries over to Starfield/TES VI and whatever else is next. It's proof that Bethesda can still produce quality story content; they unfortunately often just choose not to. [link] [comments] |

Aesthetic-wise, what are some designs/models you hope they kept from 3/NV in Fallout 4? Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:44 PM PST It could be any weapons, armor, creatures, or items. For example, I really don't understand why they have to redesign the power fist as the new one simply looks ridiculous. Also, does anyone prefer the model of the teddy bear in 3/NV to the one in Fallout 4? The old one looks sad and makes me want to hug them while the new one is kind of creepy. It feels as if they are staring at you all the time. [link] [comments] |
Stuck on choosing in FO4: The Institute or the Railroad? Posted: 03 Mar 2021 03:02 PM PST So for the first time ever I'm completing the main story of Fallout 4. Bit late on that, I know, but I've been holding off playing Fallout 4 for quite some time and decided to just get back into it recently. I've come to the point where I need to make a choice between the Institute or the Railroad. I either kill off the Railroad and bring back Institute "property", or help 13 synths escape and warn the Railroad about the attack. Here's the thing, though; I agree with the research that the Institute is doing. They're developing better growing crops, resistant to radiation or toxins. They're putting that same research towards making Humans resistant to radiation and toxins. They're developing various possible ways humanity can exist in the future. These are the types of things that the Wasteland needs if it's ever going to recover. HOWEVER....... The Institute's methods absolutely suck. The Railroad says they don't treat synths like Humans, and indeed the Institute straight up denies the sentience of clearly sentient beings, however they don't even treat Humans like Humans! Everyone on the surface is tainted and useless, only to be used as the occasional disposable resource, just like the synths. Like, the Institute has a plan to field test a new fast growing crop that's resistant to the elements of the wasteland. A real game-changer. They just need to plant it on some fertile land and gather data as the crops grow. They have, in fact, located fertile land and a family of farmers that lives there. How do they plan on doing this? - Kidnap the father of the family. - Interrogate the father. - Create synth replica of father and plant him in the family along with the necessary equipment needed to plant the test crops. - Dispose of real father. - Once the testing cycle is complete destroy everything. The family, the property, the land, the crops, everything. - Harvest chip with research data from replica father. This is... HORRIBLE. The Institute are monsters! So why not side with anyone else to destroy the Institute? Well... it means also destroying all the amazing and helpful things the Institute is working on that can really improve the Wasteland. It's like the only choices I have is either allow monstrous practices to continue or to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Bottom line is I wish the choices in Fallout 4 were more... flexible and thought out. But what would you do? What do you think is the best option here? Is there maybe a way to eat my cake and have it too? [link] [comments] |
I'm re playing fallout 4 again and I'm not sure who to side with Posted: 03 Mar 2021 03:23 PM PST I'm on the fence between the minutemen and the railroad, if I build the teleporter with the minutemen can I still side with the railroad if I change my mind or will it be to late?? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 12:56 PM PST Bethesda will most likely never move outside of the Post-war American wastelands, as 1950s space-age fantasy America is a staple of the series. However, if they were ever going to make a spin off outside of that bubble to expand on the lore, where would be the most likely/interesting target? China, Canada or Mexico (still technically Pre-War America), Europe, the Middle East or maybe even Japan? Edit: Typo [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:22 PM PST I was waiting at Camp Mcarran on Fallout New Vegas and then all of a sudden it stopped at random and two Great Khans and a Powder Ganger appeared out of nowhere and started shooting at the NCR and myself. Has anyone else experienced this glitch whatsoever? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:20 PM PST Why hasn't anyone ever made a simple neck cover to, well cover the exposed neck between helmets, gas masks, and chest armor? Trying to make my character's body 100% covered and protected is nearly impossible when mixing and matching armor sets to fulfill Tactical Optimization. Still, the Idea I had is just a thin, color-options neck cover, with multiple body slot options for fashion/gear compatibility. That being the case, in combination with my complete lack of mod-making, is there anybody here on the subreddit with the skills to bring the idea to fruition, or am I just wasting my time/making an ass of myself?
