Posted: 18 Feb 2021 12:44 AM PST I guess the mutant hounds took the place of the centaurs but they really shouldn't have. Centaurs were fucking terrifying! I still remember the jump scare I got the first time I saw one in 3. The mutant hounds aren't scary, hell they're just big green pugs! I already feel bummed out whenever I have to kill the regular dogs why they gotta add more? While we're on the subject of dogs I also think Animal Friend should be made a passive perk again. Even if it was just for the dogs I'd be happy. Though TBH I get bummed out killing geckos and mole rats too. [link] [comments] |
I finally got New Vegas, and some dlcs, what should I do first? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 04:16 PM PST I have most of the dlcs except old world blues because you can't buy it in the store. I have no idea what I should do, any suggestions? [link] [comments] |

Fallout Series - Fan Animation Posted: 17 Feb 2021 02:26 PM PST Telling a story set in the Fallout universe has been a dream of mine for about a decade now. This short fan-made animation is presented as a recap in an imagined series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow6YtlA3lqk&feature=youtu.be If you want to want to see more, leave a comment! Massive thanks to my super talented friends for making the characters real and giving them a voice - Avrielle Corti & Sebastian Sacco. A little more about the story: Lynn is a former occupant of the pre-war world. Her husband's violent outbursts have proved one too many. Upon escaping hospital, she heads home to lay in wait for him. Upon his arrival, she shoots him, sending him under the staircase and inadvertently saving his life from the bomb. 200 years later and now a Ghoul, she roams the wasteland in search of her husband to finish the job. Every night, a game of Russian Roulette with the remaining bullet serves to reinforce her belief that her husband is still out there. Billy has lived his whole life in vault society. He's a victim of his own wits - which usually land him in hot water. When he accidentally makes contact with the outside world via an old radio, he is forced into exile. As a newcomer in the wasteland, Billy doesn't stand a chance. That is until his life is saved by an old, homicidal ghoul. Lynn begrudgingly takes Billy on as her sidekick, and when an unexpected adventure comes to a head, Lynn is forced to ask herself: Can even the worst people change, if given enough time? Posted: 18 Feb 2021 01:55 AM PST Just got done with a mission and when you leave you see the Brotherhood of Steel! I immediately headed back to the Cambridge Police Station just because I was curious on what Danse will say. Now an escort to the actual ship? Fallout might have some things lacking but immersion is certainly not missing [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2021 11:42 AM PST I had some experience from FO1 prior and was familoar with how to approach FO2. I was also sceptical as its predecessor disappointed me in quite a few regards, in spite of me liking the game overall. Thankfully, Fallout 2 takes the base set by the previous game and builds a beautiful mess of a world, haunted by its heavy satire. I was surprised by how quickly and easily I beat the Temple of Trials. The internet built a terrifying picture of the area for me and I hoped I would be able to beat it at least. Playing a stealthy scientific diplomat at first, I simply snuck my way through, although I did have to fight a few ants. Managed to kick them to death, even levelled up some thanks to that and some traps disabled. Talked down the dude at the end, and lo and behold, the supposedly bad part of the game is done. Good then, right? Well no. I'd actually argue the worst portion is after you leave Arroyo, maybe Klamath. I began realising that my character sucked again and combat had only gone for the worse. The second game decided to constantly have you face at least half a dozen enemies at a time, which is annoying even if you happen to be a good character. I do not enjoy waiting for everyone to slowly take their turn (combat speed turned to max), all the while praying to the RNG gods that I won't face severe consequences due to my luck. I kept roaming half the map, looking for any quests that might give me experience or equipment. My interest was still maintained with one or two in a given settlement, until I eventually managed to build a half-decent character. And then the game kept going. Broken Hills, New Reno, Gecko, San Francisco. So many places, all of them viciously detailed and interconnected. It's what I loved about New Vegas. The world has many layers and is far more interesting than the more conceptual nature of FO1. Also, characters finally moved past the one dimension. Whether it's a quirk they have or an honestly meaningful backstory, they manage to serve as memorable beings in the wasteland. This applies especially to companions, who are now people you honestly wish to keep just for their company. Be it Cassidy, Vic, Sulik, K-9, Marcus. They also aren't as useless as in the first game, but nonetheless suffer from a lack of player control. The AI routines help, yet only so much. Often, they are a burden. But I don't care, I need my tribal weirdo pal with me, as I need the gunslinging bartender with a heart condition. The main storyline is fantastic, even if Horrigan is somewhat of a disappointing villain. It manages to infuse FO1's linear nature with a more focused, linear narrative. The Enclave genuinely terrified me, and I loved learning their sick backstory. What aids this is the tongue-in-cheek writing. Some people hate this aspect of the game, understandably so, but I do not. I much prefer it. FO1 took itself very seriously, which is fine, but its humour felt awkward and forced when it came about. FO2 has hardly any issues in that regard. It's sillier, packed full of outdated references, and revels in its silliness. Yet, this only brings more humanity to a truly depraved world, one that humanity has chosen to embrace, rather than cry over. Prostitution, drugs, slaves - all too common occurrences that have become somewhat of a norm, in spite of some that oppose them. I can talk about the game more, but I'll leave it at this. Just let me say that in spite of my frustrations with the combat, I was absolutely hooked by the quality writing, quests, world, freedom. Let it be known that I will flex my 1300-1500 Karma now. :) [link] [comments] |
Help. My Fallout 3 game isn’t working Posted: 18 Feb 2021 03:00 AM PST I'm currently experiencing problems with fallout 3 game, particularly when you have to escape vault 101. I keep finding my character losing keyboard and mouse input at the computer lab( the room with the red lights glowing inside). I've tried different solutions but nothing works. Anyone knows how to fix it? [link] [comments] |

So I got myself addicted to alcohol in Fallout 76 Posted: 17 Feb 2021 10:43 PM PST Anyone know where I can find addictol or a doctor? Low level character, so please don't send me to some scorchbeast party or something. [link] [comments] |
Any mod to make New Vegas's combat a bit harder? Posted: 18 Feb 2021 02:22 AM PST Just the combat, not the whole game. I already downloaded Mojave raiders, Mojave wildlife, NPC Sprint, Behemoth Spawns (but they ended up making me level faster and get more loot so now I've got an OP sniper rifle and its too fun to just not use it). Already playing on Very Hard. Know any mods like the ones I mentioned that makes the game harder but not by through just making the enemies bullet sponges or reducing your carry weight limit. I want a different type of difficulty, the fun type. (Maybe something like enemies sneaking so they don't pop up on your compass. I tend to rely on the compass a lot since I sneak a lot. Or enemies taking cover, trying to flank you, suicide bombing. All of those will be awesome.) And no, I'm not planning on playing hardcore or jsawyer's mod, they make the game harder. I just want harder combat nothing more. [link] [comments] |
Are there any other open world post apocalyptic games similar to Fallout? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 11:02 PM PST I'm considering STALKER or Wasteland. They both seem good but I was wondering if there were any other similar games that could be recommended? [link] [comments] |
Optimize Fallout 3 and NV for the new consoles and pc software Posted: 18 Feb 2021 03:55 AM PST With all the new hardware in the world of pc and even console gaming it feels more likely than ever that there should or could be a resolution and fps upscale on the older Bethesda fallout titles! Like seriously, even though both titles are good at 720p and 30fps there is room for an upscale considering even consoles can handle 4k 120fps now. Yes i know fallout 4 may be getting some sort of patch with this stuff in mind, i just wanted to make some sort of suggestion and getting an update with code changed to open up the games graphical capabilities seems more likely than a remaster for either titles. FO4 already installed but wanting to install GOTY edition Posted: 18 Feb 2021 01:13 AM PST Sorry if this has been asked before. Currently have Fallout 4 on XBOX One. Would like to install the GOTY edition. Will installing this version wipe all the saves and progress made so far. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2021 11:49 AM PST Anyway you cut it it's so much better than "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life, freely." New International Version: "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." King James Bible: "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." [link] [comments] |
I Going to Run Fallout D&D (5e) What are Some (Original) Vault Experiments I Could Make? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 05:45 PM PST So I am going to run a Fallout based DnD campaign. And a player wants to see some vault experiments. What would you want to see or what experiment have you made up? I would really want to hear ideas because Reddit is a weird place so obviously someone has though of this. Right? [link] [comments] |
Was sent here by a fellow vault dweller, just trying to add some cheer to a lone wanderers life Posted: 17 Feb 2021 02:25 PM PST Please no negativity. There's been too much of that already and watching so many loved ones die as well as seeing Kristen suffering so much and dying for the last three years and somehow just keep Coming back and pushing through.... I don't know how she does it but with such severe Addison's disease and such weak poor health negativity and stress can really really affect her health and even cause her to become fatally ill in Adrenal Crisis. If you cannot help please just scroll on. We have had to delete almost all social media apps and such to avoid any drama and extra emotional stress as she has become that fragile physically since multiple organ failures have left her body so damaged. Hello, I hope you are well. I have been going through Kristen's accounts and canceling subscriptions and such the last few days. She has been gravely ill for the last few years and just found out there was a clerical error that is now taking away her disability and insurance and we have to fight to get it corrected, this was the last of her independence at 30 years old and the last straw to push her into an adrenal crisis and incoherent as organs are failing and malfunctioning. You see 2020 in our family was not really different from any other year. Kristen has had to be isolated so much her whole life and struggles to stay alive as none of her body functions correctly and with each crisis she weakens and more damage is done to all the organs that have any use left in them. She is beyond strong, her friends say she's a guardian angel, always looking out, trying to do all she can to help people, even people she has never met before. When she was dying in ICU and barely able to move or talk she was still trying so hard to put a smile on the faces of those working on her. We have been told she won't make it so many times and she has medically died and been revived so many times I cannot even count. But now after losing everything, I just wish to put a smile on her face one more time. I know everyone is struggling and it's a hard time in the world but if I didn't at least try I would regret it. She deserves so much and I wish that she didn't have to struggle so hard to just stay alive each and everyday. Suffering so much and with such rare disorders and so much damage already done from multiple organ failures and everything she has been through, she cannot survive or tolerate surgeries and procedures and there are very few things that anyone can do for her to help. Now I know this is a long shot but if you can by any chance do anything at all for this wonderful woman it would make such a big difference just to see her smile again and know someone out there cares. She absolutely loves the fallout games. 3&4 especially. And frequently talks about the games and hopes another single player will come out for her to play because since all the damage and lack of oxygen to the brain from respiratory failure she isn't as quick and cannot keep up with multiplayer as well. If there is absolutely anything at all you can send to her to put a smile on her face, even if it's a card or something, anything, (she is a 3x in mens by the way) or if there is anything you have spare, willing to get rid of or make, really anything at all that could cheer her up. Post cards or notes from fellow wastelanders. Message for address [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 was amazing, but now that I've finished it I don't know what to do. Posted: 17 Feb 2021 09:59 PM PST I'm not a huge gamer, but when I find a game that I like, I commit to playing it and can spend around 1 year exploring it. Fallout 4 was huge, and having finished all the dlcs and played with 5+ builds, I'm kind of lost as to where I want to go from here. Through quarantine and my exams, Fo4 has helped me get through some really tough times, and I would say that I've developed a deep connection to the game itself. I've played through so many times and maxed out all my builds, but I just can't get enough of the lore and want to keep exploring. I know I don't really want to go back to Fallout 1 or 2, but NV and Fo3 aren't compatible with my mac and ps4 either, as it seems that they either won't run on OS, or I don't have enough disk space. I'm also excited at the possibility of Fo5, but it seems like there won't be a Fo4 version at the rate it's going. One of the best parts of Fo4 was the post-apocalyptic setting and storytelling, and also getting to completely become my character for a few hours. How about you guys? What's your favourite fallout game? Do you have suggestions as to what I can do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2021 04:32 AM PST Would you like to see the next fallout to be set in annexed Canada or Alaska? I think it would expand the fallout universe in the right way in line with the lore, Chinese invasion, the aftermath of the war on the home front. It give more depth and not just a virtual simulation (Operation Anchorage). [link] [comments] |
After all these years that it's been out, should I finally buy Fallout New Vegas? Posted: 18 Feb 2021 04:20 AM PST My only experience with fallout games is Fallout 4 which I've put in 2500+ hours over the past few years. I've heard almost nothing but good comments about New Vegas and I've always been interested. I know nothing about the story (please don't spoil it for me), but I've heard from a few people that it's the best one of the franchisee. The only reason I'm asking is because money is a lil' tight atm and I'm not sure if it's something I should save up for. Thanks for any input. Edit: turns out I can't actually play it on PS4 which is a bummer, but I'll keep the game in the back of my mind [link] [comments] |
Far Harbour, cleansing the land achievement Posted: 18 Feb 2021 04:11 AM PST does anyone know if i Have to destroy the nucleus to earn the achievement. cheers, and help appreciated [link] [comments] |
Would you like it if Fallout had more options when starting a new game? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 07:27 AM PST We kinda had one with New Vegas having the "Wild Wasteland" trait as a silly on/off switch (though I hear it's possible I think with a late-game perk/DLC thing to get it mid-game.) but what if there were a bit more? Fast Travel interrupts = Basically enables you to stumble into random encounters while travelling like in 1/2/Tactics, off makes it like 3 where Fast Travelling is always instant with no interrupts. Buildings being repopulated with loot/enemies like in Fallout 4 = So whenever you want that setting on, off or maybe a half-way option, where Raider bases and such will get re-populated but an abandoned vault and other completely deserted locations that stay that way won't get repopulated, so an advantageous raider fortress will have raiders move in but that completely deserted Vault will stay the same. Wild Wasteland = Pretty much New Vegas Wild Wasteland but not replacing a trait slot this time around. And probably more options, these are just the ones that come to mind to me right now, like the frequency of random "hostile" encounters. (Such as Raiders.) [link] [comments] |
