If you could add 3 companions to the game, who would you add? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 12:13 AM PST If you could add three new companions to the game, who already exist in Vanilla, who would you add? I'd personally add Victor (if you joined Mr. House), Sunny Smiles, and Vulpes Inculta (with Legion allegiance.) Victor is unique, iconic, and really fits in the tone of New Vegas, I was always left wanting more interaction. With Sunny Smiles, from my first play though I always felt Sunny would make a great companion, I enjoyed her character quite a bit. She's a realistic character and would fit well with a survival/outdoor type Courier. Her quests could be a return to Goodsprings, with lasting consequences based on the direction taken. And as for Vulpes Inculta, I always felt that there wasn't a companion that fits with an evil/legion play through, so that would've been cool. Not to mention he would also probably have a really cool quest line. A runner up for me would be Chief Hanlon, although he's old as dirt. Not trying to spoil his quest so I'll just leave it at that. I'd love to hear what you guys think/who you'd pick. [link] [comments]

How do i make myself play differently? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 06:43 AM PST I have an issue when i play new vegas(start a new game), and the issue is fir me to stray from my regular way of playing and with who am i siding. I tried siding with Caesar but it didn't seem that i could do alot of work for them, and some companions have an issue against Caeser, i know i can play differently, it isn't a physical issue, i just want to know how can i motivate miself to play differently. Quick question in the lucky 38 basement Posted: 24 Feb 2021 02:56 AM PST You know when you complete the house always wins mission and you go down to the basement of the lucky 38 and he shows the mark2 OS securatrons ,there is the blue ray shield thing that stops you from going and exploring the basement I was wondering if you can use the upgraded sonic emitter (from old world blues) to get rid of the shield and explore the basement [link] [comments]

How to get rid of a mantis in a pacifist run? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 05:36 AM PST It is the one by the Goodsprings school and I am trying to finish the game with absolutely no kill. Other one was killed by Ringo in Ghost Town Gunfight but now he doesn't get involved in a fight. This scene is like damn funny, I am escaping from a small insect like the Texas Red and no townsperson bothers to kill it. How to get out of this situation? [link] [comments]

Does firing the Sonic Emitter count as "Sonjactulating"? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:47 AM PST I know Dr. Dala did her WooooOOOOOoooing to Sonic Sterilize it, but Dr. Dala isn't exactly trustworthy if you ask me. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:34 AM PST So I just started Dead Money and Dog is at the electrical box fuses and he will not stop talking. He keeps saying the same lines over and over with a second in between. Is this intentional? I'm losing my mind overhearing the same exact lines. [link] [comments]

Very hard/hardcore unfair enemy HP Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:17 AM PST Warning: Long rant/post ahead I recently installed Tale of Two Wastelands and started in Fallout 3 (DC) in very hard/hardcore mode. In addition, I am not looting any containers or anything at all from the game world, except for killed enemies. I have this problem, don't judge me (also I think, it prevents save bloating in the long run). Also only autosaves and no fast travel. Anyway, So super mutants are extremely hard to kill, and there are so many of them. I had to swing at a super mutant master's head for maybe 2-3 minutes straight (I had the super slam perk, knocking them down) with a baseball bat to kill him, that's if I'm lucky when I manage to catch them alone. The only reliable way to kill them is to use two handed melee to knock them down, or with a combat or a riot shotgun, but even then they still take so many shotgun shells that it's unsustainable. Plus, the vendors don't seem to stock that many shells anyway. Then the gun breaks down and I have to decide whether to buy food or another shotgun or just repair it or buy more shells or healing items. It's such a miserable experience because of the unfair HP scaling. The sniper rifle is near useless, I get a sneak critical headshot to take away 10-20 percent of their HP at most, before the literal dance begins. I've had enough of it so I decided to go to New Vegas, maybe I could do more quests there so I could get better combat perks, play in the casinos or hell even play caravan for caps so I sold everything, bought a ton of supplies and blasted my way to the train station but guess what there is a mini quest involved and the place is full of even more super mutants. I'm essentially stuck, with no more supplies and I'm not sure if I can move forward with the few bullets, low HP and no stimaks. Now I'm forced to go back, sell my loot and hopefully come back with enough supplies to take them on. I've done a bunch of quests following/nearby the main questline, so no huge XP/bottlecap dumps for me in the near term, unless I travel out to the wastes to visit Dave's Democracy (?) or the place with the living tree. The problem is FO3 is full of random events and I keep running into deathclaws and robots, they are almost impossible to kill. Even the viscous dogs are a huge problem. The robots kill me in 3 laser shots and they simply don't die even with missiles. So the question I have is how do I make more bottlecaps in this situation? The only source of cost effective combat income (bullets costing less than the reward) I have is the Talon company mercenaries. But they don't show up often and sometimes also drain a lot of resources. Another question is, how do I make the HP scaling more realistic? It sure is pretty realistic on my end but I find it hard to believe a talon company mercenary, a human being, taking 5 - 6 shotgun blasts to the face to die. I have the "sawyerbatty" mod installed which apparently makes enemy HP (or my damage?) more realistic but probably not, from what I've seen. Basically, how do I progress faster here in FO3, it's such a grind right now. Should've woke up in New Vegas. Thank you for reading and any help will be much appreciated. [link] [comments]

I’m tripping on lsd and weed while playing New Vegas, ask me anything I just started Posted: 23 Feb 2021 09:44 PM PST I just started a new save and haven't decided what I wanna do with the character yet, so uh if you happen to see this early on I'd also like some suggestions Edit 1: Doc Mitchel looks angry and I can't help but smile. Edit 2: I set my stats as S-8 P-3 E-4 C-7 I-8 A-5 L-5 Edit 3: fucking mirked Joe Cobb and the powder gangers in the name of Doc Mitchel Edit 4: I've decided on making the NCRF dude the sheriff of Primm Edit 5: Ave, true to Caesar [link] [comments]

What preparations should I do before starting Dead money?(no spoilers please) Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:38 PM PST Are there any skills I should focus on? Is it really that hard to sneak past the ghost people? Can you use Implant grx in the dlc? What perks should I invest in? Any general tips? [link] [comments] |
