Found a weird bug in the Lucky 38 Penthouse

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 03:25 AM PST

So apparently, when you throw a grenade or other throwable in the Penthouse, it only travels about 1-2 meters before abruptly hitting the ground, as if The Courier just threw it at their feet. This happens nowhere else in the game.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any discussion about this, but then again, it's rather minor.

(Honest Hearts) Ghost of She not appearing (PC)

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:57 AM PST

Title says it all. I make my way through the canyon into the Ghost of She's lair, kill the Yao Guais, geckos, and Vault 22 creatures, even trigger Waking Cloud's dialogue, but the Ghost still doesn't appear. Has anyone else experienced this? I am really tired of my Courier being perpetually stoned, and my last save that was before this quest is all the way back in the Sierra Madre's vault. Help.

Good mods if I've played NV a million times and want to challenge myself/try something new?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 06:05 AM PST

I've played the game a million times and by now its not really challenging anymore. I normally don't care but its getting a bit boring that its so easy. I can still get challenged by Fallout 1 and 2 as they are much harder. So now I've been looking for mods to make NV interesting again. Basically I'm thinking:

    Performance/bugfixes:

    • Viva new vegas modlist. Thats just for performance and such.

    • Lonesome Road duster true allegiance. Actually gives you the correct duster.

    Visual:

    • Realistic Wasteland Lighting. Very light and makes the game look so much better.

    • Better LOD.

    New content:

    • Mojave Raiders - it makes raiders stronger and such

    • Mojave Wildlife - more animal spawns to fuck you up

    • Living Desert - adds travelers and other NPCs based on your actions. Also works with Functional Post Game Ending.

    • Functional Post Game Ending. Allows you to play after the battle of hoover dam and changes the game based on your actions. The world does feel a little empty if you don't go NCR as they will then leave the Mojave so you have a lot fewer vendors and quests. But then you also don't get any real consequences if you nuke the NCR during Lonesome Road. It also feels like it makes a lot more sense to nuke the factions after the battle IMO.

    • Some player home mod in Goodsprings. AFAIK there is no player home before Nipton which sucks if you hoard a lot of stuff.

    • Uncut Wasteland and moburma80's uncut mod series. These just restore a lot of cut content. Also The Moon Comes Over the Tower restored and House Brotherhood Alliance.

    • Freeside + The Strip Open. I just like these (edit: taking these off. Doesn't add to much and give way too many performance issues and bugs)

    • New Vegas Bounties and all the other mods by that guy. These are alright filler content. Not perfect but I usually like them.

    Balance:

    • JSawyer - It really does make the game a lot more interesting. I use the improved version from nexus mods.

    • Fallout 3 economy. I'm not a big fan of F3's economy but it was a lot tougher which could be nice. On my current playthough I had 2000 caps before I reached the Mojave Outpost.

    • Fallout 4 Survival Style damage. You do more damage and take more damage.

    • Some mod to remove the pre order bonuses. They are way too strong, you can easily use them until you reach the Gun Runners in Vegas. (edit: JSawyer mod does this)

    Misc:

    • Just Assorted mods. Its like Project Nevada without the horrible bloat and performance.

    • Fallout 4 Survival style damage, a simple realistic damage mod that makes you do +50% and take +100% damage. Doesn't have as much bloat as many other damage mods do.

    • Stewie Tweaks. Has a lot of nice options.

    • Immersive hit reactions

    • Better Pickup Promt

    • Threshold and DT Multiplier and DR Adder

    • NPCs can miss. Essencial for any realistic damage mod

    Any ideas or criticism?
