Regarding my previous post, ironically, the only thing left of Boxcars were his legs. I’m not even joking.

I got a lot of great questions about the Nuka Cola cap given to me at the real Pioneer Saloon. Here are some more pics from inside the bar and the rest of my little NV pilgrimage!

Had these stickers laying around waiting for the perfect use. I think I found it. Stickers, meet hard drive.

    Lonesome road player home?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 08:06 AM PST

Is there a spot in the Divide where you can set up camp and store your extra stuff? So far my only idea is the Hopeville Men's Barracks but I'm not sure if its safe.

What will happen to Lanius after a strategic withdrawal?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 06:31 AM PST

So if you have high barter and/or speech you can convince him to withdraw from the Dam and regain strength out east.

Knowing what happened to Graham after Hoover Dam, what do you think will be done to Lanius?

Will Caesar being alive or dead have anything to do with that?

Will Lanius comply or resist potential punishment?

How will the shameful defeat and liquidation of the Legion's most acclaimed generals affect the Legion as a whole?

I am the only one who can't finish this game?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:40 AM PST

This is my another playthrough, I've played NV some 300h in total, and still – I just cannot get myself to finish the main quest.

I have prety good rap with every faction, and I'm just chilling.

Taking the side would spoil everything, wouldn't it?

Caesar's Legion; what Sallow could've done:

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 07:25 PM PST

Rome, so alien to the Mojave in large. Rome, so famous in history. Rome, a suffocating archetype for a wasteland society.

Now, Caesar has established a powerful tribe. Frumentarii that infiltrate his nemesis faction, as seen by Captain Ronald Curtis. Soldiers that strike fear into the NCR at even their base ranks, evidenced by Dead Sea taking Nipton as only a Recruit Decanus, leading a contubernium of likewise warriors.

But, to quote Darth Maul, his vision lacks clarity.

He has ALL of the opportunities to do what he wants with ancient history and call it his for sake of the very utilitarianism he preaches. He, as Follower Edward Sallow, had the resources to research another equally famous ancient culture that I cannot truly fathom would have perished in the Great War if so much information was preserved about the Romans:

    The Greek Spartans.

Their slaves were largely farmers, their women were respected and also trained, and their culture aligns perfectly with the rigors of the wasteland. Caesar could have easily washed the misogyny from the budding Legion and had twice the fighting force, each of those who were born to the Legion proper twice as strong, and also had twice the reputation as a leader worth following.

Competent fighters assimilated by Dissolute tribes could just simply be recruited into the uniform and training of the Legion by handicap of only being able to gain rank of Veteran Legionary (no officer or other leadership roles) and his numbers would swell much more efficiently. Take the Great Khans, for example, and any Powder Gangers that may put up a decent fight. All the adult males were killed before being put to good use as cannon fodder alongside other Recruits.

Yes I'm slightly leaning toward an Apollyon type leader, here, but if he'd taken these notes he'd have the freedom to try it.

Furthermore, if he truly was using the Roman archetype, albeit barring his canon reasoning for abstaining from this, he would adapt to the technologies of the wasteland be they stimpaks and energy weapons all the way to power armor and whatever they could learn from other tribes. This includes what the NCR taught them during the first battle for Hoover Dam. Recruits could at least have some weapons, Veterans could be trained on how to maintain them, and Decanii would be experts of all weapons. Centurions, as well, would be masters and should be tasked with making sure their Prime and Veteran subordinates have their equipment properly serviced with the assistance of their Decanus.

Now, imagine a Legion with twice as many numbers, more solid equipment, better medicine, more stable agriculture, less mundane tactics, sharper technology, higher intelligence, and broader vision. Kinda scary, huh?

    My favorite character is Festus

    Spoiler ahead, perhaps

The Legend of the Star is one of my favorite quests. It keeps to the Fallout style humor, and I love how he tells the Courier after they win the contest to "keep on drinkin' Sunset Sarsaparilla" as if he is expecting the Courier to be ok with the given prize and move on.

Best Fallout New Vegas Mod Stability Tests?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 12:20 AM PST

    Hi all,

I just got inspired to mod FNV from scratch again. I really want to take my time and do it right by testing in between mod installs and such. In order to do this I usually use the Goodsprings quest, but I am not sure this is the best quest to use to test, so I was curious what quest or area other people use for stability tests?

Unpopular Opinion: Lone Star is the best song in the game. More people would appreciate it if it was on Radio New Vegas.

I'm thinking about starting a new playthrough and want to know the best mods to use

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 06:28 AM PST

What's the mod list you guys generally use for your playthroughs? looking for mostly visual, and QOL mods but I am not averse to any content mods. Thanks!
