    Please Visit Andy.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 06:53 PM PST

Ranger Andy is such a sad, but good character that I recommend everyone visit and cheer up with their speech skill, spoiler and not for the special move he gives you. He gave his life for his army just to end up at Novac. Its sad that he feels the way he does, and I'm sure a lot of veterans can relate to Ranger Andy. We have a lot to learn from him about the struggles of some veterans. Even if you haven't played Fallout New Vegas, I ask that you go talk to a veteran and thank them for their service. Do it for Andy!

Now regretting taking the map revealing perk in Fallout 3

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 06:20 AM PST

Playing Fallout 3 for the first time I've just been exploring since reaching Megaton, honestly I should probably get back to heading for Galaxy News Radio

So anyways upon hitting level 20 I took the Grim Reaper's Sprint perk, I like this perk a lot however then I took the Explorer perk on the next level figuring it would be neat to see how many locations there were and...wow.

There are like so many, too many all there at once. Honestly it was cool at first as I started going from the locked Rockland car tunnel to the right but then after a while it stopped feeling like I'm even exploring anymore and now just kinda feels like I'm traveling to a known destination, feels kinda meh. Worse yet I already saved and my only other save is exiting Vault 101.

I'm totally not taking this perk in the future.

Reminder the Xbox One is my first console and this is my first video game so please refrain from spoilers.

    First day in Fallout!

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 09:56 PM PST

My intro into the franchise skared the actual shit out of me. When I was on my way to the Super Duper Mart, and because randoma death claw had spawned in my way. It had already had it's way with the raders. 10 mins into the game... and I was mauled by an 8 ft. tall, lizzard beast with 10 in. LONG. FUCKING CLAWS! I didn't leave Megaton for a week afterwards.

The Fallout 1 instruction manual is really good.

    Combat Taunts [On, Off]

This option turns the combat taunt messages on and off. These are the messages that non-player characters (everyone except you) say during the middle of combat (you can say whatever you want, just don't annoy your neighbors - Vault-Tec will not be responsible for any neighborhood complaints).

Reading the manual to learn more about the game (pls no spoilerinos), I love how they don't take it too seriously.

[FO4] A Better World - Upcoming Huge New World and Quest Mod

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 07:34 AM PST

Hi everyone, today I'd like to announce a project I've been working on for a long time: a new world modification for Fallout 4 called A Better World. You can find the announce trailer here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmza-x0lkhw

Nine years ago, on October 27, 2011, I released Alton, IL, a post-nuclear recreation of my hometown in Fallout 3. You can find it here. I created the world, quests, and characters of Alton as a solo project, and I've always wanted to do something of that scale on my own again. So here we are!

A Better World is a story-driven open-world modification, featuring an extensive main quest, plenty of side quests, and a huge new world full of unique activities and challenges. I'm not going to talk much about the story today, but as a brief teaser: A Better World tells the story of two women on the run from the Institute: Jo and Liz, and their mission to create a better, safer world.

To support this story, A Better World features a dual setting. The first is a derelict, underground pre-war shopping mall: Vault-Tec Plaza. Vault-Tec Plaza opened in 2075 to introduce the citizens of New England to their flagship Vaults, a testament to how the American Way could continue underground. The shipping, operations, and customer service staff were almost entirely automated, thanks to a partnership between Vault-Tec and RobCo. Rumor has it that this was where Jo and Liz were last seen before they relocated to Abbot County, and this is where your search for them begins.

The second is an entirely new worldspace to explore, the wild and relatively tranquil Abbot County. From the dense coniferous forests of the Nashoba Range, to windy lakeside birch forests, and through the quiet creeks and maple groves in the Nashoba Valley, Abbot County is home to an incredibly varied wilderness. Standing out amongst this wilderness is the town of Bethel, situated in the center of Lake Callahan, the result of years of land reclamation by the denizens of Abbot County.

A Better World doesn't yet have a release date, but when I do, I'll certainly let everyone know.

The trailer features an instrumental cut of the song Midnight by the incredibly talented Radical Face (whose music has largely inspired this project) and brings you on a journey through the world of Abbot County and the sprawling Vault-Tec Plaza. The screenshots are some of my favorite stills from the trailer.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Excited to finally have this thing announced.

What's the point of joining the institute?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 12:19 AM PST

Hello again wastelanders vault dwellers and lone wanders alike i have a question for you why would anyone join the institute i started a new character and unlike my first one who's with the BOS she's siding with the railroad but at first i thought about joining the institute but unlike other factions you don't/barely get anything by siding with them all you get is X6-88 as a companion institute wepons clothes and armor (there are better things elsewhere) and a power armor paint when the BOS gives you some badass power armor at your request a jetpack and a giant airship to store your shit the railroad gives you an underarmor upgrade that lets you eat bullets like breakfast cereal and the minutemen... they're not important since you stay with them unless you kill them but what reason would i have to join the institute other than the few things and the lack if guilt when shaun dies.

Few questions about events of the faction storylines in FO4 (very light spoilers please)

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 04:02 AM PST

I'm currently weighing up each faction and have managed to only be spoiled on a few things in all these years I procrastinated and didn't play FO4, was wondering if it was generally possible to either

A: Convince the institute to lighten up and stop treating the commonwealth like a testing ground/people like tools.

B: Convince the BoS in some capacity to halt or pull-back their campaign against synths on the basis that some are indeed sentient.

C: if neither of above then can I be a proper double-agent for the Railroad or is there no option to share inside knowledge of the other factions with them from the position of a double agent? (I think taking deacon with me as my main companion for the story/faction quests would be fun if we were only helping them as spies) Maybe opportunities to turn end-game events in the railroad's favour by sabotaging the Institute/BoS from the inside?

Why are non-control Vaults set up to pointlessly fail?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 10:13 PM PST

It just crossed my mind how unusual it is for Pre War America, or Vault Tec, to design their vaults with some really pointlessly cruel intentions.

I'm not surprised by how willing they were to sacrifice their inhabitants, but how pointless the non-control Vaults were, failure being pretty much a foregone conclusion most of the time and results questionably useful. Vault 34 was easily predictable. Of course high tensions, tight space, and an excess of armaments leads to violent riots. Vault 111 didn't have the means to have its scientific staff survive longer than 180 days, so apparently the whole point of a several years long study of cryogenic stasis wasn't the point? Vault 94 was to test pacifists' ability to adapt to the post apocalypse, but that could also be figured out by having a vault tasked with looking outside. Topping this all off is that all these Vault experiment are done once. A good scientific approach has experiments repeated multiple times to ensure consistency and repeatability of results. Doing a test once does not mean it is certain to happen again under the exact same circumstances,

Why are they like this? The Vaults provide research that is almost always highly circumstantial or extremely unusable, especially if their purpose is to guide the rebuilding of America, or provide information to the Enclave to build a New America elsewhere. What is anyone supposed to do with the knowledge that if you subject people to mentally deteriorating conditions and a red vs blue mentality, it will cause people to become violent against the opposite color (Vault 19)?

Is it normal for Fallout 76 when you die, the bag where your lost loot is at is not visible?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 11:25 PM PST

I've died a few times and each time I died, I was unable to pick up my lost loot. The paper bag (I believe what it looks like) doesn't spawn at all. Is this some glitch that's been in the game for months but Bethesda is just reluctant to patch or has it just been noticed?

An idea for a Fallout game set in the Four state Commonwealth. Fallout: New Mexico

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 12:59 PM PST

This idea for I been working on a Fallout game set in New Mexico.

A fallout game about aftershocks of Caesar's death regardless of what happens in Fallout: New Vegas. With the death of Caesar during the event of Fallout: New Vegas the legion quickly implodes into warlord legions waring against each other and some of them simply split off from the legion to from their own legions and doing their own things. This causes a 15-long war between the many legions across Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado up to Denver, and eastern Utah. In 2296 when Fallout: New Mexico starts there only major two legions remain the Red legion and Maximus Legion alongside lesser smaller legions who remain outside the territory rule. This civil war among Caesar's Legion is called the "Wars of the Legions" It plays out like Alexander's Successor's Wars of the Diadochi who become successor states like the Mongol Empire. The lesser legions who survive the wars from their legion identities and customs across the wasteland control parts of New Mexico Wasteland. While some of them turn back into raider gangs who raid the settlements across the New Mexico Wasteland.

Location: Northern central New Mexico. The surrounding areas around Albuquerque and Santa Fe New Mexico in the year 2296 in the Fallout world.

    Major Factions

    1. Red Legion –They are made up of former slaves of Caesar's legion who rebel against their masters during Caesar's downfall. They follow the words of Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels "The Communist Manifesto" and "Little Red Book" from "Chairman Mao Tse-tung" and aim to seek to build a socialist utopia across the Wasteland.
    2. Maximus Legion –They made up of reconquering tribes, other captured legions, and recaptured slaves. They aim to seek to reconquer Caesar's empire and expand territories of Maximinus legion.
    3. The Midwest Brotherhood –The Midwest brotherhood has several outposts and bases in New Mexico who are mostly recruits from tribes and local settlements. They aim to seek control of keys areas in New Mexico and seek to bring order to New Mexico Wasteland
    4. The Reservation – they are survivors of Los Alamos scientists who have survived to become ghouls. They are believing they are Children of the Wastes they will inherit the promised earth. They aimed to seek eventual uprise against their smooth skin oppressors throughout the New Mexico wasteland.
    5. Desert Rangers – They are made up of the remaining Desert rangers who didn't join the NCR and who are now in New Mexico wasteland. The Desert Rangers in New Mexico still continued their efforts to protect the people of the wasteland against its hazards, from lesser raiders tribes and other numerous threats that present in New Mexico Wasteland.

Caesar's legion has broken into two major factions who are rule by two legions, the Maximus Legion and Red Legion. In central New Mexico there a five-way struggle among the Maximus Legion, Red Legion, The Midwest Brotherhood, Desert Rangers, and The Reservation. The prisoner, the player's character, wakes up in an abandoned prison with no background as to why they left in the prison. The prisoner must leave the prison into the New Mexico wasteland to find clues as to why they were left in prison and soon after that change four-way struggle in the New Mexico Wasteland.

Feel free to add more ideas, if you want to.

Should I buy Fallout 76 or Fallout New Vegas?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 06:16 PM PST

I have played Fallout 4 and Fallout 3 and I really loved them so I wanted to buy another but I wanted to know which one I should play, first at least. I know that New Vegas has a way better story, but it is an old game. 76 lacks in the story part and is way more expensive espacially because I would have to pay for Xbox live gold too, but it is a way more recent game. What are your suggestions?

My argument about why Deacon from Fallout 4 is NOT the Lone Wanderer.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 11:05 AM PST

I noticed ever since Fallout 4 came out that there's a theory that the Railroad member and possible companion Deacon, is the Lone Wanderer, and for some reason that really bothers me so today I'm going to disprove that theory and debunk the reasons why Deacon could be the Lone Wanderer.

Claim 1 - When Deacon is a companion he mentions making a team name called Code Violet, if you didn't know this was Harkness' override code in Fallout 3.

People like to point out that the only way that Deacon could know this is that he is the Lone Wanderer, however this is likely not the case, as a high-ranking member of the Railroad he would likely already know Harkness' recall code in the back of his mind and thought it was cool enough to have as a team name.

Claim 2 - The Lone Wanderer was 19 at the events of Fallout 3 and would be 29 as of the events of Fallout 4, Deacon seems to be in his late 20s meaning Deacon could possibly be the Lone Wanderer, as Deacon and the Lone Wanderer's ages match up.

Most likely a coincidence, there are a lot of people in their late twenties in the wasteland, and Deacon probably just happens to be one of them.

Claim 3 - His codename 'Deacon' is a product of of both the Biblical references in Fallout 3 and on how his father (James) wanted to 'Deacon' the water in Fallout 3 making him the Lone Wanderer.

Probably not true as keep in mind Deacon is probably a joke on how the Railroad's HQ is under a christian church and that Deacon is a mid-ranking level of status within christian hierarchy.

Other reasons on why Deacon is not the Lone Wanderer.

-He hates the Brotherhood of Steel. Why would the Lone Wanderer hate the Brotherhood of Steel, especially since that the BoS has done so much for them and the Lone Wanderer has done so much for them.

-The Railroad has had records of Deacon even before the Lone Wanderer emerged from Vault 101.

So in conclusion I would say that while Deacon is most likely either from the Capital Wasteland or visit's it frequently, he is not the Lone Wanderer, though I wouldn't be surprised if he knew the Lone Wanderer personally.

First time playing Fallout 1, any tips?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 06:33 PM PST

Been a fan of the Fallout series ever since I was introduced to FO3. Poured hundreds of hours into the FO3, NV, & 4. And I've been aware that the classics are one of the best ones to come out. I tried multiple times to get into it but I got discouraged due to its style which I wasn't accustomed to at that time.

But I've finally built the courage to give it a second chance. Is there anything I should be aware of, whether which mod to get, or gameplay mechanic to be aware of, or which rookies mistakes to avoid from breaking the game?

p.s. looking forward to play FO2 after FO1
