In fallout 4 who’s actually the most dominant faction? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 09:10 PM PST The Brotherhood of steel or the Institute? If the Sole Survivor didn't get involved who would've won the Commonwealth? Hypothetically what would be the most powerful position for the Sole Survivor, being Elder of the Brotherhood or the Director of the Institute if given the choice? [link] [comments] |
What are the closest IRL drugs that resemble each Chem's effects? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 06:36 AM PST I've compiled a list of chems and real life drugs that resemble their effects, mostly out of curiosity. Chems from any game. The only real life drugs in Fallout that I've noticed are Caffeine and Datura. Stimpak - Morphine? Help me out here, it allegedly speeds up regeneration of your cells but idk anything irl that does that except for maybe stem cells. Psycho - Cocaine, Crack, Meth, anything that makes you excessively violent, definitely a stimulant. Med-X - Anesthesia, Oxycodone, painkiller in general. Used for surgeries and prescribed for long term pain, seems to be a depressant. Jet - Gasoline? Glue? Paint? Seems to be like huffing something that gives you a quick high with strong effects. Mentats - Adderall? They seem to make you smarter for a bit but you forget all your ideas when you sober up, as mentioned by Dr. Mobius. That's all the real life drugs I can think of to compare fallout drugs to. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2020 03:50 PM PST I know, this is a tiny complaint given the bizarre selectivity of the destruction (wooden houses standing, skeletons intact, roads barely eroded), it just struck me as odd in my recent replay of Fallout 3. Why are there so many pylons still present? They're relatively fragile skeletal metal structures, vulnerable to rust, and most of the D.C. area doesn't even have rubble, though I assume 90% of the playable area had been urban before the Great War. Is there a handwave in the lore about how "pylons are made of titanium these days, so they can survive an EMP" or something like that? If anyone knows the answer offhand, I would appreciate it! Posted: 08 Nov 2020 02:15 AM PST I searched a bit and found that the NCR salvaged powser armor from the NCR brotherhood war but their technicians apparently don't have the knowledge to work on power armor. How did the brotherhood unlock this technology? Where did they find the plans? Why haven't the NCR unlocked the secret yet? Do the NCR use power armor although limited? Would that give them an edge vs the legion? Are they searching for this secret? Are their scientists working on it? [link] [comments] |

Where do behemoths get their body mass? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:15 PM PST Body mass doesn't come out of no where, to grow to a size like that you need to have somewhere to pull from, so are they eating people? We see super mutants put up those lovely meat bags everywhere, are they to feed the behemoths? We see dead body's around swans pond so he clearly did eat everyone he killed. Can they absorb other mutants? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2020 09:39 PM PST Where do commonwealth behemoths come from? I've been reading posts and it sounds like the common consensus is that, like their capital wasteland brethren, continue to grow with age. However, I haven't seen anything in fallout 4 that supports this. In one of the of the institute terminals it sounds like the institute acquired samples of the FEV and completed two strains. Additionally, Swan's transformation seemed sudden. Is there a loading screen or piece of lore in fallout 4 that can confirm theirs origins or is there something I'm missing. [link] [comments] |
What company developed the Vertibird? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:56 AM PST I don't specifically remember anywhere in the series about who designed the aircraft other than the DOD. Which doesn't make a whole bunch of sense as the DOD doesn't design anything. IRL, the DOD hires contractors like Sikorsky for Blackhawks or Lockheed Martin for the HMMWV series trucks. Is it just never elaborated or have I just missed what company or contractor developed the Vertibird? [link] [comments] |
We're Canada and Mexico also nuked in the great war? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:20 AM PST Canada and mexico were both annexed by the us before the sino-american war right? However both regions saw heavy resistance. Surely the Chinese knew that right? Would they bother nuking those regions as well or just the mainland us? [link] [comments] |
In what ways would the Sole survivor have been exposed to radiation before the war? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:15 PM PST I'm imagining that even before the war, getting irradiated from all too common household items was just a regular occurrence. [link] [comments] |
Is the Brotherhood of Steel in fallout 76 lore friendly? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 08:42 AM PST Question in the title. I'm just curious if anyone knows if the lore in 76 works with the rest of the series. A second question that one might ask, is 76 lore considered canon? [link] [comments] |
