The Brotherhood of Steel are Overused Posted: 05 Nov 2020 12:11 PM PST I know many like them but I also know many, including myself are tired of the Brotherhood. They were a minor faction in the original games and are completely different in the new ones. Bethesda changes their morales every game so they're more likable, I mean come on. At least put in a faction with long term benefits to the wasteland like the Institute or NCR. They also don't need to have a huge roll or even be in every game. I think they were done the best in New Vegas, with the Christine-Elijah-Ulysses-Courier storyline where they were minor but they had three really important members (Including Veronica). And even though there was massive uproar with them being in 76, Bethesda is still giving them a whole dlc even if them coming from California 26 years after the bombs dropping is contradictory and lore-breaking. When people think fallout they don't usually first think of the Brotherhood, and those that do, it's because they are so heavily advertised throughout the games. It's the same with supermutants, they don't need to be in every game. I want Fallout 5 (possibly by Obsidian) to just not include the Brotherhood, make a unique armor-clad faction that is actually interesting and that we can be invested in. The Brotherhood of Steel is the style over substance of fallout factions and its time for Bethesda to hang up the power armor. [link] [comments] |

Idea for Fallout 5: Different reload animations. Posted: 05 Nov 2020 02:49 PM PST So picture this: Agility affects the reload speed, but what if it also affected the way one reloads a weapon? Low Agility: Traditional/realistic reloading. High Agility: Quick/Action styled reloading. Do you think this sounds like a good idea? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Nov 2020 02:27 AM PST I always go the normal route. Curious what other people do [link] [comments] |

I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire Posted: 05 Nov 2020 11:03 PM PST |
Posted: 06 Nov 2020 12:26 AM PST So i started with new vegas and currently own every fallout game ( even 76, its a good game now) with the exception of the first. I heard i could skip one because 2 improves the combat system and weapons as well as some other issues the first game had. I maxed out agility since it affects how many times you can't act in combat and i was wondering if theres anything else i should know. [link] [comments] |

Could the pip-boy exist in real life Posted: 05 Nov 2020 04:40 PM PST Hey is this the right sub for this question ... huh? Im supposed to say the thing? Oh right Hello again wastelanders vault dwellers and lone wanders alike i have another question for you could the pip boy exist in real life? We already have phones that are basically mini computers that fit in our pocket so i think it would be possible to just make one except better and put it on your arm throw on some buttons knobs and scroll wheel thingies and you've got yourself a pip-boy does anyone else think this is possible [link] [comments] |
You get command of the masters army consisting of 50,000 mutants. What do you do with it? Posted: 05 Nov 2020 12:04 PM PST I personally would get them to threaten mr. New Vegas to play "the ranger with the big iron on his hip" for 24/7. And then destroy the NCR and then crucify kimball [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 - Nick Valentine lost (locator won’t find him) Posted: 05 Nov 2020 05:58 AM PST I'm playing fallout 4 GOTY Ed, and Nick Valentine is lost, but I want to take him to meet DIMA. Nick lives in Vault 88 but he's on a caravan route. I've built and tried to use the character locator, but it puts a map marker next to a lake and he's nowhere close. I've finished a main quest line and got an ending (blew up institute - railroad). I've looked in his agency, pipers shop, rang the bell in vault 88. Is there any way I can find him or force him to appear? He's got to be somewhere, but may have glitched out while caravanning. I realise now that putting him on a supply caravan was a terrible idea. Any tips? I don't want to immediately do a re-run just to take him up to Far Harbour, not while I've got so far on this run. I've discovered almost every location and cleared most of the map at 74hrs in. [link] [comments] |
my fallout Nebraska fan fic number one writing the one in Moscow rn Posted: 06 Nov 2020 02:26 AM PST Fallout New Omaha You emerge from the vault scared and lonely. Looking around you see the ruins of the once-great city of Lincoln, or so you've heard. You know the stories of the day the world was set on fire engulfed beneath the atomic flame. The mushroom clouds in the sky, the shattered glass buildings all around as you turn on your pip-boy and look at the map, you have to go to a place called the raven rock site complex where the remnants of the government should be. The vaults have been in disarray for weeks after the food supply started to run out and the water went bad. Mutiny has become common and crime is normal, murders are rare but theft is common. You have to go there because the overseer has sent people like you out before and none have returned as you sit there thinking staring at the skeletons of those who didn't make it into the vault a strange hairless beast comes to attack you it is blind with no eyes and comes charging towards you, you pull out your overseer issued 10mlm pistol and it goes down in one shot. Closer inspection reveals it to be a mole rat of some kind it seemed to be of no harm to you anymore. After that, you find your pip-boy has picked up a radio single New Omaha radio you turn it on and you hear a Cherie song about a place called Nebraska. As you listen to the song you hear the screams of men and the roar of a monster. You run over and find a giant grotesque green man smashing men in suits of power armor like bugs and crushing their laser guns like sticks. It looks at you and runs at you, you duck and roll into a nearly crushed building and you realize it's the end for you but the beast screams as it hears humans yelling it runs off to who knows where and you find yourself safe. you inspect the bodies, the guns irreparable, and suits crushed you see a symbol on the men's armor a sword and gears. As you make it out of the ruins of lincoln bodies strewn across the streets you find the highway almost completely blocked by cars rusted corpses of cars if you can even call them that. You travel without interruption for about two hours when the sun starts to fall you hear a rustling noise and a pack of hairless coyotes attacks you, you kill two out of five when another one leaps onto you and you get one bullet in it before you here the firing of the gun the coyote on you dropping over dead. You see the other coyotes run towards something and you stand up when you hear them squeal you see a man in a suit of power armor with oversized shoulder pieces and tubes to the helmet with glowing yellow eyes. You Look at his chest piece and see a light blue E surrounded by stars. You stare at him intensely for a moment "what's the E for?" He responds in a deep raspy voice "it stands for the Enclave the last remnants of the American government" you look at him surprised."Are you from a place called the raven rock site complex"?you say." no" he replies "we are from a place called New California" you say that you are looking for a place called the raven rock site complex and he says he'll take you there as you walk for countless hours of the night you run into another enclave patrol you explain you need to take your vault there to live and they say they will welcome them all to their home. You get there and head to the room assigned to you and sleep until midday when they are heading out to the vault as they arrive and the door opens you are knocked to the ground and only hear the fire of the machine guns before you are completely blackout. You awake with cold blood on your arms not your own as you look up you see where it's coming from and scream in terror as you see the bodies of your family and neighbors on the ground in a pile of metal ridden mush. you go into the vault and notice no corpses but everyone's gone. you cry and whimper for hours and then you remember the men and that symbol and you decide to start looking for them but where then you realize your pip boys radio signal new Omaha. that's where you have to go You travel on the roads for hours when you see bright neon lights in the distance the front gate says the infamous words Welcome to new Omaha. *You enter the gates and see pens with animals mutated beyond belief two-headed cows called brahmin small featherless chickens called rad chickens and brown dead-looking stalks of corn you notice the people look quite strange with ripped clothes and dirty faces. you search the city for the symbol and you find it. A moderate-sized building with the symbol on the face of it. You enter it and find men in power armor talking amongst themselves and they all draw a gun towards you. The one at the table about 3 feet away from you says "what do you want here"? You reply "I'm here to ask for help, my vault has been kidnapped by people called the enclave" after you say the word enclave there looks all turned stern. the only one whos said anything yet begins to say no but you plead for minutes and eventually they agree for a small price you have to a place called the sea where a nuclear bomb was detonated and the land become irradiated beyond reason to retrieve brotherhood "artifacts" the offer you a suit of power armor to do it and some drug called radaway to make sure you don't die the instant you enter it from radiation poisoning he marks it on your pip-boy map but before you leave he recommends going towards a shop in town to buy ammo stim packs and maybe a new gun. As you enter you see a man at the counter you ask for stimpacks and a 12 gauge shotgun and some 10mm ammo and some shells after you ask he says you need to pay you to say in what his reply is the strangest thing you've ever heard Nuka cola bottle caps. He says he'll give the 10 MLM for free but you need to pay for the rest. you head out on your way towards the crater. it takes about an hour to get there when you arrive. When you arrive you see the green mist over it and feel the horrors of nuclear war once again and begin to wonder how we got here. you jump down the crater for a 10 footfall into the dirt. You begin to wander the crater wondering what brotherhood artifact means but when you see a suit of power armor you'll know. It takes about an hour and you have to pop a few rad aways but near the center of the crater you find the suit with a holo tape and pistol in the other hand you pick up the holo tape and read beginning to read, it seems to be the last words of that man in the suit. You take hours to walk back to the road and several hours more to get back to new Omaha. as you arrive in the building they look at you in surprise and one in the back says in shock "he did it". They all look at the holo tape and then at each other the first one to talk to you says let's get moving. You walk out the building to the front gate and see a brahmin agon made from the end of a truck, the brahmin pulling it with the men's symbol on the sides. you get in the back and go for maybe a minute or two when you pop the question" where are we going"?the man replies "it's where we came from a place called Lost valley". It's where the entire brotherhood lives, all the paladins and the knights and the scribes and even the elders live there. As you travel for maybe a day in the deserts you arrive at a mountain and go in the valley you see a small square brick building with their symbol on it. as you get closer you see two men in power armor guarding the door you get out of the wagon and let the man talk for you.they let you pass and he says we are going to talk to the high elder.as you talk with him he debates but finally agrees.you go to raven rock at noon tomorrow.you sleep in the quarters as the sun rises you begin to stir.it's the day as you exit the quarters you are amazed by the number of soldiers they have they exit the bunker with you on a march towards ravens rock with hundreds of men in power armor with laser guns going to crush the enclave and rescue your family.when you reach ravens rocks gates you see vertibirds mounted with machine guns and the troops on emerging from within tatatatatatata tatatatatatata you hear the screams of the men beside you, you fire and take out the men in one of the vertibirds it crashes into the sand and explodes. The enclaves men have power armor with 10 times the resistance to our armor you and a group of 3 others make it inside and you find where they are holding the vault dwellers but you find only one left alive you open the gates and free her. You run out and find that there are hundreds of bodies on the ground and vertibirds in the air still firing you and the group run away into the desert.*25 YEARS LATER.you walk through the desert away from home you, ve been gone for a number of days and the village is probably worried as you walk your foot hits something metal you realize its a suit of power armor one of your father's kinds.suddenly you see hundreds of them all strewn across the desert than you see what's in the face of that hill large gates you see the metal scraps of what seems to be a vertibird and when you walk over to the vertibird you realize where you are when you see the suit of armor by it. And you see the symbol on the chest an E surrounded by stars. The end [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Nov 2020 09:10 AM PST Post war buildings have television and people sit around watching it but there's only a "please stand by" thing playing. Is this just a game mechanic because itd slow the game down or do people find entertainment in watching a blank screen [link] [comments] |

Oh my god shut up about the enclave they got their asses beat Posted: 05 Nov 2020 02:17 PM PST As the title says, I hate how every single thread about factions has that one guy saying "BRING BACK THE ENCLAVE AS AN ACTUAL FACTION" Dude they're Nazis they don't have any goals besides "KILL ALL MUTANTS" they don't even have a definition of mutants that stick. I could understand a small faction of remnants like NV but as a main faction? NO JUST NO[link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Nov 2020 06:53 PM PST This is my fallout 5 idea that I have come up with- Fallout 5 takes place in Atlanta, GA. A most desolate and apocalyptic city, heavy bombed due the presence of a large military base in the area. (I feel like the next fallout needs have a darker and creepier tone , like the older ones) it takes place around 40 years after the Great War. You play as not as vault dweller (I feel like that concept is getting old) but as a son or daughter of settlers. In the beginning of the game, your village is attacked and everyone including your parents are killed by one of the three warring raider tribes that each control a part of the city and are each fighting for control of the whole cities, each with different ideas and views of how to run Atlanta. There are a total of 6 vaults in the game most controlled by one of the three raider tribes and even serving as a headquarters for one of them. The rest however, are up for your exploration... The BOS is not present in this game, as I feel like they are overused. You character can chose to join one of the 3 raider tribes and in the end destroy the other two , choose to destroy all three by starting an uprising with an underground freedom faction and the people enslaved by the raiders in which you become leader of Atlanta. Or the wildcard option, destroy all the factions in the game and become the sole dictator of the entire city. The choice is yours... Outside Atlanta lays the dark and corrupted swamps and many ruins of small towns full of dangerous creatures such as ghouls, death claws, blood bugs , crococlaws (strongest enemies in game) and many more ... full of secrets and treasures...... (As the for the games song, it would be sha-boom by the chords) [link] [comments] |

Why didn't the NCR use vehicles at Hoover Dam Posted: 05 Nov 2020 08:32 PM PST It is Stated in the fallout bible that the NCR had access to tanks though it should be taken with a grain of salt due to questionable canonisisty. But if it is true it would make sense as scraps of tanks are found on the west coast and the NCR does have factories capable of producing other military supplies like guns, vertibirds and possibly power armor so why not tanks. Hoover Dam produced a lot of power and was incredibly important. They should have at the very least sent a few vertibirds. Sure they had that bog gun there but that doesn't really count. Dont bother answering with something like limitations or a lack of time. I want to hear your in universe thoughts. [link] [comments] |
Figured out why the riot shotgun feels so good: No Recoil Posted: 05 Nov 2020 06:24 AM PST Well, first off it's very powerful and with stay back and shotgun surgeon can kill anything, but I realized that a lot of the reason it feels better than the combat shotgun in fo4 is that it has no recoil. It stays perfectly level, every shot is on target, you don't have to worry about aiming or fire rate. I thought it was better weapon design, but really it was worse shooting design! Posted: 05 Nov 2020 11:52 PM PST I'm playing fallout 4 with sim settlements 2, an r96, and a clean and simple mod. I fast travel and all of a sudden my R96 is all wonky and the model is off. Of but mabey I'll make a new one later. 1 small settlement later and all of what should be R96 rifles are now combat rifles again. And also one of starlights main building awning-wing thing is collapsed again. Keep in mind this Is completely new after many hours. My load order is also fine and nothing conflicts. But the mods are installed and some files are in tact (the rest of the settlements and the ground of starlight is fine, and the-albeit broken R96 model still exists from my main gun) its happened before and I have no idea why. It's not a huge deal and I could have messed something up (likely) but it's kinda annoying because that was going to be my main military compound and my mens weaponry I'm on xbox btw [link] [comments] |
Is there a mod to keep doing the nula world quest line without the minutemen hating me? Posted: 05 Nov 2020 07:59 PM PST As the title says I'm on the beginning of home sweet home and I know once I make a raider settlement it's game over with the minutemen and Preston. I don't even wanna make raider settlements I just want my hands on the juicy perks at the end of the quest line. So is there any mods that alter or skip this quest altogether? [link] [comments] |
Bethesda Fallout games don't feel like they're set 200 years after the war Posted: 05 Nov 2020 04:06 PM PST I know this is a fictional universe with a specific setting, but one thing that really, really bugs me about the Bethesda games is that they're supposedly set 200 years after the apocalypse, but the world design doesn't match up. It feels more like the world state of Metro 2033 which is set less than 20 years after the event. First off, the state most people live in just doesn't make sense. Even "well off" settlements supposedly haven't fixed ANYTHING in 200+ years, despite knowledge to do so being somewhat readily available (basic woodworking and metalworking, not to mention all the still-working manufacturing equipment scattered around the world) and people still live in houses with holes EVERYWHERE, soiled carpets/wallpaper, and piles of filth. Even with all the dangers of the wasteland, it seems logical that in 200 years some work would have been done to fix things up in the settlements and construct new buildings that aren't random shacks. Next, there's the overall state of the old world tech and buildings (especially in FO4 with the amount of rain the world gets). Stuff is in WAY too good of shape (and there's way too many unlooted buildings) for me to believe the world is 200+ years after an apocalypse with the number of people roaming the world (and the amount of firepower some possess, if the world is this crazy and violent, after 200 years why is ammunition still so readily available?). Go look at old WW2 ruins for ideas of what 80 years of no maintenance and being exposed to the elements will do to things. Lastly, there's an issue with the radiation. Weaponized nukes (aside from dirty bombs) don't leave much residual radiation. After 200 years, the levels would be even much less. Sure, cancer rates would be higher for awhile, but looking at modern Chernobyl shows how quickly things can recover. [link] [comments] |
Not faring well in cities (XB 1) Posted: 05 Nov 2020 03:56 PM PST I'm having serious FPS drops in downtown Boston and lots of crashes, my console is less than one month old, brand new, I'm not using any mods or CC content, my hardrive is also empty, I'm also playing the game in 720p, any idea how to fix this without using any mods?
