Posted: 21 Oct 2020 09:34 AM PDT The moment i got to the Wayward after leaving the vault, there where 3 or 4 camps of super high level players around it, they were greeting the newbs and droping advanced starter loot, upgraded and supressed bolt actions and nice looking armor, one of them gave me a few pieces of marine armor that were like level 45 so i stored those, but another guy gave me a marine helmet that i could use right away, that same guy also gave me a cool backpack, a few hours later i found myself giving some of this stuff (they gave me too much loot) to a fresh spawn, talking over push to talk, everyone was nice to each other, the high levels didnt speak but emoticons were flying left and right, it really made me feel welcomed to the game, thank you. Why does Bethesda insist on shoving pipe guns in your face? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:43 AM PDT One of my biggest gripes with Fallout 4, and a bit of 76 for that matter is the overabundance of pipe weapons available in the game. Like seriously, it seems like every settler from Sanctuary to Quincy are carrying fucking pipe guns. I get that Fallout's universe is post apocalyptic, and that in theory things were nuked to the stone age, and that pipe guns are a low tech alternative to the military standard firearms at the time. But at the same time We have been shown through other fallout installments that both modern day firearms, and military grade firearms exist, and are abundant throughout the wasteland so pipe weapons are a bit of a moot point. Not to mention they look like they would fall apart at any moment, and would barely even function. I get that it might be the point and general aesthetic of the weapons. but an aesthetically pleasing design does not maketh a good weapon. While they have a great number of modularity and diverse combinations at the same damn time it would be great if I could use anything else. It almost feels like our lord and savior Hodd Toward said "Hey guys look how hard we worked on these pipe weapons! Use them, they're so cool! Look we're gonna put them in every suit case, duffle bag steamer trunk, raider corpse, cabinet and wall safe across the commonwealth." Yeah, explain to me why in a pre-war safe that has likely been sealed for about 200 years has some pre-war money, ammo, maybe a valuable piece of jewelry or silverware, and then a fucking pipe gun? Why not a 10mm pistol? or you know, some other pre-war handgun? But no. here's another pipe pistol, enjoy jackass. It's not like I've got 30 of them already in my storage chest. Not to mention by the time you do get a combat rifle or shotgun, you've already got a majority of your build specked out around these weapons. And it's likely you've got about 2000 rounds of .38 ammo at this point as well, which just makes every other weapon pointless unless it's a weapon that you can convert to .38. It really hurts me both as a player and as a gun nut to see pipe weapons everywhere and that I'm more or less obligated to use them because there isn't any other options. And the options I do get are so late in the game they're pretty much useless. [link] [comments] |
We need more people like this guy Posted: 21 Oct 2020 05:42 PM PDT Got Fallout 76 'cause it was free for a limited time Started it, wandered off the main path for a bit after leaving Vault 76 Finally went to that Wayward place after getting attacked by those new little robot enemies Finished and started a quest invovling the barteneder woman there Went outside of the bar and saw two people: Some other guy and a level 82 player with power armor Power armor guy emoted me to come to him and, when I did, he gave me a BOS recon rifle (not sure yet if that's OP for someone like me), waved goodbye and walked away I quit the game 'cause I had school soon, then I remembered that someone in this subreddit also posted about meeting wonderful people after just starting the game [link] [comments] |
Randall Clark is the best character I have never met. Posted: 21 Oct 2020 09:09 PM PDT He loved so much. He guided a generation. He stopped a genocide. He is one of the best characters to grace NV. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 Nate Military experience Posted: 22 Oct 2020 12:35 AM PDT So we know nate is a vet. We also know he is a decorated vet, a hero they said on the terminal. The mr handy says he was in 108th regiment same as Elliott Tercorien in mothership zeta. he was part of operation anchorage. Could nate have been the person lone wanderer was simulating in fallout 3 operation anchorage? Anchorage was won in January of 2077. it gives just enough time for shawn. that or he took Leave and spent time with nora then he took part in anchorage. it would make sense. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Oct 2020 05:33 PM PDT I am also starting to suspect that the milk of human kindness may not actually be milk at all, but more research is needed before a conclusion can be reached. [link] [comments] |

Regarding the awful legendary drops Posted: 22 Oct 2020 03:25 AM PDT This isn't about the droprate, it is about the literal drop of legendary gear and how this game has got one of, if not the worst loot-drop system I've seen in a Looter-Shooter. I was capturing the workshop near Monongah and had to defend it from 3 Scorchbeasts, a "normal" one, a Legendary with 1* and a legendary with 3. It was a tough fight but I did it. However after I downed the last Scorchbeast I only managed to find 1 of the legendary enemies and it was the 1 one. This got me thinking and I always felt like the way you get legendary gear in this game is absolute rubbish. Other games like Destiny or the Division have found a way to display where loot is but Fallout 76? Well, tough luck loser. Try to find your loot without any clues where it might be besides the last known location of that enemy you killed. Oh and sometimes the corpse of said enemy either despawns or glitched under the map. Yay... There has to be a better way to distribute legendary gear besides this. Maybe just hand it over to the player once they kill the enemy like in certain situations. Or maybe give the player the option to build some sort of postal system that delivers lost items to their camps. Just...something better than the current model. Oh and don't get me wrong, I love Fallout 76 even tho it can be a buggy mess and I appreciate the free content we get from time to time. However I do get annoyed whenever I kill a legendary enemy just to basically lose its corpse and the loot that came with it... [link] [comments] |
New Vegas, losing 30-40 fps by looking at damaged enemies/npc. Posted: 21 Oct 2020 03:43 PM PDT Hello, I noticed this issue that I can't figure out why it's happening. https://imgur.com/a/sqn7gGH Basically if I point the crosshair at an NPC or enemy that is not at 100% health, the framerate goes down a lot, from 110 fps to 70. However if I get closer to talking distance, it goes back to normal. If I use the console to restore their health it fixes the problem too, hiding the interface with the "tm" console command does not fix it. It's a vanilla installation, no mods, tried with clean Windows 10 and 7, and 2 year old GPU drivers too just in case. Id' like to know if this is a game issue or might be a bug. Can someone try to reproduce this or have any ideas? Thanks. i5 4450, AMD 580, 8GB RAM [link] [comments] |
I wish New Vegas brought the gambling skill back Posted: 21 Oct 2020 05:30 PM PDT In Fallout 1 and 2, among the familiar skills like guns and energy weapons and speech there was a skill for gambling. In New Vegas your chances in gambling are tied to your Luck SPECIAL. I wished that NV had just brought back the gambling skill and not made it Luck based. I don't really have a need to put my Luck above 5, I usually allocate my SPECIAL points elsewhere, sometimes I even put my Luck down a point or two so I can focus on something else, idk. What was the swamp at the bottom of Fallout 4 supposed to be used for? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 06:56 PM PDT Was it going to be dlc but they scrapped it? It feels like to me, it was meant to be part of the Glowing Sea but there are so many invisible walls there. Not even a quest takes place there. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2020 12:00 AM PDT I haven't played Fallout 3 in for ages, but I remember there being a part at the end of the game where you can sacrifice yourself, but it doesn't make sense to do that cause fawkes can take the blow and have absolutely no consequence. Is there a way to get Fawkes to die before then? Preferably in a way that isn't just the player outright being evil. [link] [comments] |
Should i buy far harbor or nuka world? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:04 PM PDT From what I've seen from trailers and such nuka world seems more fun and enjoyable, but far harbor definitely has a more complex story (also Nick valentine has a big role in it apparently so that's a plus), which one should i buy? Is there ever an “End” to any fallout game? Posted: 22 Oct 2020 02:02 AM PDT As the game is very adventurous and has a pillow case full of side quests is there ever an actual end to fallout? Like is there some dope ass cutscene? Or is it just like "oh you finished everything, roam Mojave as you wish." [link] [comments] |
Free weekender - looking for a fellow free weekender to try the game out with. Posted: 21 Oct 2020 09:20 PM PDT I've been a fan of fallout for a few years, however always refused to buy 76 as I didn't want to incentivize the concept of always online games. With the free weekend I figure I'll give it a go, and I'm looking for anyone to play it with, I'm open to buying it if I wind up enjoying it well enough. I would prefer someone coming out of the vault right as I do, but I suppose anyone would be fun. The game is downloading overnight and I intend to play around 1 pm EST tomorrow (today?), if you'd want to join me please reply or friend me on discord at Ferm#0961. [link] [comments] |

Help me make my Fallout 2 not corrupt my saves Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:54 PM PDT So the obvious way to destroy your fallout 2 saves is to save inside of combat. What else is there? I just lost all my progress because my files got corrupted. I've never even beat this game because of how often this happens. Fallout 1 has never done this to me. So what else can I do to be careful? I just want to get through an entire game so bad lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2020 07:38 PM PDT Basically, I don't get paid until tomorrow night. All my friends are buying it tonight. Do I need to redownload the whole game once I buy it? It's not a big deal. I can do that. But I would rather not have to redownload two copies of 76. There's gotta be an option that if I pay the full price. I can just play the whole game on the trial download? This is PS4 BTW. I've never done a free trial before. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2020 03:42 PM PDT I modded Fallout 4 about 8 months ago but i had no success in modding it, i want to go back to vanilla F4 and have a clean slate.
