Does Fallout 4 leave any breadcrumbs for possible sequel... things? (explanation in main post)

In Fallout 3, you got three hints towards things that were eventually made elements of Fallout 4. Firstly the quest with Doctor Zimmer and the first appearances of Synths, the Institute and the Railroad. Secondly there was Dr Maddison Lee, who after the events of Broken Steel is said to have left the capital wasteland to seek out the Institute in the commonwealth. Thirdly, the existence of Maxon as a child in Fallout 3 who seemed only to exist to tease his eventual status as a main character in future games.

There were also things that hinted at possible sequel content, that aren't present in Fallout 4, like the "Ronto" is named dropped as a major location or faction alongside the Capital Wasteland and the Commonwealth, in a speech by Ashur in the Pitt DLC. I've seen speculating that this is a post-apocalyptic Toronto based faction by people before, but there doesn't seem to be any actual information on them besides their implied significance.

Then there's Fallout 4, which... seems much more self contained than Fallout 3 was. I personally can't think of anything from the game that hints towards things, places or people that are beyond the confines of the game, with the exception of references to the Capital Wasteland, the NCR and San Francisco from previous games. I haven't played any of the DLCs for Fallout 4 yet, so if anything of the sort exists in them, I haven't had the chance to see it.

Is there anything in Fallout 4 that screams "this might be foreshadowing for future games"?

EDIT: Or Fallout 76, I haven't played that one at all so if it hints at anything, feel free to post those too.

    Pip-Boy voice in Mac versions?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 06:52 PM PDT

According to The Fallout Wiki: "In the classic Macintosh version of Fallout, the Pip-Boy 2000's menu uses PlainTalk to say "Welcome to the RobCo Pip-Boy 2000" upon opening it, as well as reciting the menus you've opened." I think that's interesting and would like to hear that for myself. Are there any video or audio examples of this?

Anyone know any games like fallout 4 with snap building and a fully fledged first person rpg like fallout 4?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 11:04 PM PDT

I've done over 2k hrs on this game n frankly I'm only still playing since I can't do other RPGs anymore without all the customization fallout 4 offers and the mods are great too. Anyone know any games that are similar? I've already 100%ed all the other falliuts n elder scrolls in the past just hoping maybe someone know something similar that's not Bethesda? I've done Conan n games like that but it's more building without a fully fledged rpg behind it more farming. Love the combination of almost RTS/rpg playing the hero first person that the fallout series has become with fallout 4. Thanks in advance! ✌🏻

    [Fallout 4] Mannequins

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 06:11 PM PDT

I'm planning a Fallout 4 run where my end goal is to blow the heads off of every single mannequin on the map. Before I start, I'm wondering if anyone can recall some of the locations where the mannequins are so I can collage a list?

Is there any way for the Minutemen and Railroad to ally in the Vanilla version?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 08:28 PM PDT

I've been playing a new character with mods on. I always side with either the Minutemen or the Railroad. But I've come at a crossroads, Desdemona asked me to choose which faction I would side with and there was no option for an alliance between the two. Is it possible for an alliance to form in vanilla? If not, is there a mod that makes it possible?

[Fallout 4] Was I right to kill the Brotherhood of Steel in the Cambridge police station?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 01:27 AM PDT

This is my first ever play through of Fallout 4. I assisted the brotherhood in the police station and then did the quest Call to Arms. I joined the Brotherhood once asked to and I had Preston as my companion who doubted my decision. I heard the minutemen ending is the best ending and so far I liked them better than the brotherhood so I decided to kill Paladin Danse and his men at the police station. For some reason I feel regretful and was wondering if this was a good decision? What do you guys think is the best faction?

What is the best lore-friendly radio station mod for Fallout 4?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 03:22 PM PDT

Recently went to Nexus Mods to look for radio mods and saw a lot of stuff. Much of it had nothing to do with the period feel of the game, instead, it was just "music that I like." Nine Inch Nails, vaporwave are all fine, but they don't really contribute to the lore friendliness of the game.

What are your suggestions to musically enhance the experience of playing Fallout 4?

Which Fallout Should I Play First?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:28 AM PDT

Hey! So, super late on the fallout, but let me explain. As a kid, my parents were super strict about what games I played, and I didn't have much money either as a kid to get games. But now I'm in college and I want to give this series of games a try, but problem is, I don't know which to start with. I have a PS4 so I know fallout 4 is an option, and I also have the newest MacBook Pro with the 10th gen i5 and 16 gigs of ram, and it is dual booted with windows, graphics maybe the problem thought, I don't know? Any way, long story short, which fallout should I play first?

I desperately want Los Alamos to be the setting of a fallout game

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 11:46 AM PDT

There is a city in New Mexico called Los Alamos. It is the birthplace of the bomb, it was top secret till the 60s, and it is situated on beautiful, red high mesas. There is a national laboratory, a tunnel system under the town, pueblo caves, a super volcano caldera and high mountains within 25 miles, and deep canyons throughout, some dropping 800-1000ft deep. The entire area is stunning but unwelcoming to most life.

In a fallout scenario, I would like if the city was never declassified and still fortified, a big mt with people and ambition, an institute but bigger and not cartoonishly evil. The lab itself is spread into dozens of "areas," which are sporadically spread over 100000 acres (I think). They sit on a pile of advanced tech, with sites for a super laser (that they have irl too) and a plutonium processing site (still irl fortified like a high security prison). In la there are 20,000 people, with more phds per capita, more millionaires per capita, and more security forces per capita then any county in the United States - though most people seem content walk around in socks and sandels and to live in old houses (some of with were slapped together by the army Corp of engineers in the 50's). Kinda a bizarre, nerdy place overall.

In the scenario, the legion is slowly crushing resistance around the Jemez mountains, and on the cusp of discovering the well-hidden secret. The brotherhood finds a document in some military site that points them towards the huge cache of prewar tech and the threats that it poses. Ancient secrets of the Anasazi are discovered, magic that caused them to disappear en mass from the area hundreds of years ago (also happened irl).

Seriously Bethesda needs to capitalize on this idea. The idea is so on message, so rich with possibility I am literally salivating.

Tl;dr: Los Alamos, NM is literally perfect for a game and I am hoping that Bethesda will see this and spare me the agony of not seeing my dream realized

Btw this is reposted from the discussion about possible settings but I need Bethesda to see me

Fallout 4 - how do I change subtitles language?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:00 AM PDT

My game insists on showing subtitles in Polish, voices are in English. I'd like to have both in English. I've already tried to change language through steam, it downloaded something, but to no effect. I also tried to change Fallout Default ini (something like that) and editing the line relating to subtitles, however it's been already set to "En".

    Any more ideas?

I'm trying to interact with a settler in Fallout 4 but every time I try my character says "I need you to get out of your power armor". And the settler isn't wearing power armor. How do I fix this?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:15 PM PDT

I'm on PS4. All my power armor located in this settlement is accounted for. I get that it's not a big deal if I can't interact with a single settler but I'm trying to make this particular settlement as defendable as possible and that includes setting up all the settlers with good armor and weapons.
