Dogmeat got weak after installing DLC's

I got Dogmeat pretty much in the beginning to level him up with me so he becomes a proper HP tank. Suddenly during my playthrough I started questioning what the DLC's are like since I havent gotten any "random" quests out of the blue. I did a bit of Googling and quickly realised that I had forgotten to check them in the launcher data files. After doing that, and continuing with the game, Dogmeat lost all of the HP he had gained and got super weak again...

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to fix this?
