Amount of Reputation lost by killing?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 06:12 AM PDT

For my next playthrough, I plan on siding with Goodsprings for Ghost Town Gunfight, but want to do so in a way that leaves my reputation with the Powder Gangers high enough that they won't start shooting me on sight. That way, I can complete the NCRCF stuff without doing insane workaround like Booted and Vault 19's quest at odd times in the game.

I know that completing Ghost Town Gunfight on its own hits you with -12 reputation, but I was wondering if anyone knew the exact number of reputation points that are taken when you kill / attack a Powder Ganger, and if that number changes for member of other factions. The fight can get a fair few NPCs killed if you don't help out somewhat, so I want to do some assistance rather than sitting back and letting all the named NPCs die.

Through all my checking online, it only ever says thing such as "killing any more will further increase infamy" rather than specifying, and the only number that's ever used on the Reputation site on the wiki is -30, but that would mean killing a single member of the Powder Gangers makes you immediately vilified with them. That doesn't sound right, given the quest itself only gives -12 and I don't ever recall being instantly vilified after shooting one Powder Ganger.

I'd really appreciate any information anyone can give me!

How well would my computer run the game?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:47 AM PDT

    Hi!

I've had New Vegas on xbox 360 for around 2 years now. I've been using mac OS for years but only recently got windows working via bootcamp, and am considering getting the steam version.

    Specs:

    CPU: Intel i5 1.4ghz (turbos to 2.7) 4 cores

    RAM: 4GB

    GPU: Intel HD 5000

Awful I know, but would I be able to run it at at least 45-60 fps with decent settings?

    Thanks!

Modded fallout crashes when going into new areas

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 10:36 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I've been trying to get back into fallout modding and made a small modpack based off of some recommendations I saw online. However, the game seems to crash 50% of the time when fast traveling or entering a door. This is incredibly frustrating so I was wondering if any modding gurus had any suggestions.

I really just wanted to make a small modpack with stability improvements, bugfixes, and some cut content added back in, that's all. But even that seems to make my game extra unstable.

Here's my mod load order: https://imgur.com/n6AFsco

I also have NVAC and New Vegas Stutter Remover installed but they don't show up on the load order.

    -The Strip Open

    -Monster Mod Re-Release

    -Project Nevada 2.5

-RobCo Certified (I love this one)

    -Faction Fun Facts

Is it still possible to get shaders on a modded game?

    Posted: 11 Sep 2020 08:57 AM PDT

I've never used shaders but I'm trying to get into modding new vegas.

The issue is that when I search for shaders on the Nexus mod website, everything seems to be based off of this core "ENB" mod, which no longer exists. Every enb shader preset links to this webpage - http://enbdev.com/mod_falloutnv_v0278.htm which no longer has a working download link. If the base download for shaders is gone, does that mean playing New Vegas with shaders is dead forever?

    Melee/Explosive/Unarmed/Simpleton build

    Posted: 10 Sep 2020 05:28 PM PDT

Just a build I thought of that ended up working out.

    Charisma 1(2)

    Intelligence 1(2)

    Agility 6(7) (high for slayer)

    Luck 8(9)

    All implants.

Gear: chalks headdress (or motor runners helmet) or Hockey Mask (Brings your skills to 100 against RADs debuff), courier's duster (bear)(+1 End)(needed with Hockey mask to reduce end debuff enough for it to handle)

    800 rads- -2 STR, -3 END, -2 Agility

Traits: heavy handed, wild wasteland (or trait of your choosing)

    Skills: explosives 100, 60 medicine, melee 100, repair 90, science 50 (for slasher), survival 70, unarmed 100

Lonesome road point can go into strength

    Perks (not in any order):

    Splash Damage

    Adamantium Skeleton

    Chemist

    Life Giver

    Karma perk

There will be 141 skill points leftover for your choosing. The remaining skills (plus the needed points to max them out) are: barter (89), energy (75), guns (79), lockpick (75), medicine (40), repair (10), science (50), sneak (79), speech (89), and survival (30)
