Are relationships between humans and mutated humans taboo?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 12:50 PM PDT

Probably a weird question but I was wondering. I don't think I recall any regular romantic relationship between humans/ghouls or humans/super-mutants and when you have to find a ghoul prostitute for the Atomic Wrangler, it's framed as being freaky and weird (even by Beatrix herself).

You can romance Hancock in FO4, but that's up to the player, so I don't really count it as canonical representation.

I know that it can logically be perceived as weird to court a rotting person or a massive, green person (should they be of sound mind and there are such instances in Fallout), but then again... It's Fallout. It seems that stuff like this really wouldn't be that out of place.

So, are there any canonical implications on why it just doesn't happen?

What happened to the other bunkers in hidden valley?

I've always thought there was perhaps a cival war that went on and they were destroyed by each other or maybe they collapsed when the bombs fell but I don't actually know?

What powers generators in Fallout Universe?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 08:33 AM PDT

Before I start, I should clarify that I have only played Fallout 4 and I am intrigued by the system through which small medium and large generators function.

Clearly the fossil fuel doesn't exist in this universe and these generators don't use nuclear power because there is an option for fusion generator in my inventory during construction. Atleast large generators require nuclear material to function.

Has there been any explanation about this or is this one of those game features that if it works then it works.

What are the Legion’s major cites?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:18 PM PDT

I'm currently working on the tabletop RPG campaign in Fallout setting. The campaign takes place on the West Coast and part of it is going to take place on Caesar's Legion's territory, so I need few big cities from that country to work with. Can you suggest something?

Do many people know about the Chosen One after Fallout 2?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:36 AM PDT

Basically just what I'm asking in the title. I've been playing through Fallout 2 again recently, and the original Vault Dweller receives a ton of recognition for his actions, to the point of myth. Some people in the NCR don't even believe that the Vault Dweller exists, due to the sheer impressiveness of his actions. It's shown that he's essentially a mythological figure. I just have to wonder if the Chosen's exploits are as well-known/heavily regarded after the events of Fallout 2?

Given that both the Chosen and the Vault Dweller accomplish similar feats (helping numerous communities prosper, solve conflicts, save their village, and later, the whole wasteland) it doesn't make too much sense for the Chosen to not be regarded as some sort of legendary figure, as far as I know. Was this mentioned at all in any of the later entries? Or even in one of the Fallout Bibles?

    Are Skinwalkers Canon

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 07:19 PM PDT

I was exploring the Fallout wiki a few days ago. More specifically, the Dead Horse language page. Apparently they'll shout "skinwalker" in their dialect ("Yee nad loo shee!") if you evade them while they're hostile. Since cryptoids/supernatural like Mothman and ghosts are canon, how much of a stretch would it be if skinwalkers are also canon?

Is anyone else skeptical about The Railroad?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 06:22 PM PDT

This is a bit of conjecture and conspiracy theory, but bear with me.

Between Fallout 3 and 4 we learn a lot about the various factions, especially the major ones. All except for the Railroad. They're a clandestine operation that thrives on half truths and misinformation. No one claims to know who or how the organization was started. No one is sure, not even its "leadership", exactly how vast their organization is. We know they have operatives from Boston to DC so they're clearly vast, yet Des often claims their numbers are low.

That always bothered me, but then I learned Pinkerton from Rivet City is a synth. That changes everything. We have a synth who hid another escaped synth, who can skillfully perform facial reconstruction and a memory wipe, who appears to be a point of contact in the DC area for escaped synths. Is he a member of the RR? Is Horace Pinkerton actually Pinkey Thompson?

My problem is, their mission doesn't justify the secrecy. What are they really up to?
