Fun things to do to get more life out of the game after you finish the game without mods

    1. Put ALL your gear & consumables somewhere safe and fast travel to the furthest corner of the map you can and try and get to the furthers point away from that without fast travelling or dying by using what you can find and/or create with work benches (restart if you die) an example would be raven rock to river city.

    2. Become addicted to as many drugs as you can in one of the capital cities then try and feed your addiction without leaving the grounds of the city through stealing, doing odd jobs or murdering people for money and items to sell. (This one is actually quite hard, a lot funner on hard difficulties and it's insane how quickly your quality of life gets worse)

    3. Find a group of brotherhood of steel members, brotherhood outcasts, slavers or caravaners that are doing their rounds of the wastes. Attach yourself to them and just follow them around and see what trouble you end up getting into it. This is a lot funner if you do it on the hardest difficulty and dress in the same get up as them for aesthetics. You can also limit your gear to using what they use, for example if you're with slavers just use an assault rifle, a combat knife (or pistol) and a mesmertron if you want to catch any slaves on the way.

I have a few more but don't want to make this post to long and want to here who else has any things they have done to get more life out of the game once they've 100% it without mods. So what do you do to squeeze more gameplay out of Fallout 3?

Finding all the Intel in Operation Anchorage is pretty useless?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 11:49 AM PDT

After finding all 10 Intel briefcases while playing the operation anchorage DLC, you get rewarded by some different dialogue lines but most of all a perk called "covert ops".

This perk gives you a stunning +3 skill points to science, small guns and lockpick!

Just as in my previous post about clothing to be pretty useless vs armour, I feel like this is a very minimal reward too. It has minimal impact on the game and your character for the effort you've to put into it.

Or is there something i'm missing here? What are your opinions? Is it a very bad reward? Is it very good? What could've been a better alternative?

    EDIT: your opinions/facts:

    1) Looking for the intel packages is a typical cheap strategy for consolegaming to have another achievement people can hunt for. The perk is just added for the sake of it.

    2) For those who are looking to maximize skill points, the perk gives you 9 points you can invest in other skills.

    3) The 9 skill points is indeed kinda shitty but hey, it's something.

Is the Gary 23 Exploit still functional?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 07:36 PM PDT

Just a simple question but is the exploit still functional as of June 14th, 2020? I'm trying to do it in my playthrough on the GOTY edition on the XB1 and I've gone through the simulation three times with Gary placed in different positions on the footrest. Has it been patched out, am I not fast enough or am I putting the body in a bad place? Much thanks to any help from anyone.

Xbox 360 Controller on PC -- Joystick way too sensitive. Also game's too dark

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 03:03 PM PDT

Playing Fallout 3 GOTY on PC, using an Xbox360 controller, Windows 10. It's unfortunately hard to find information because Google ignores the '3' and shows a lot of results for NV and FO4.

The sensitivity on the left joystick is just obnoxious. Barely have to look at it and it registers a left/right input. Navigating trade menus is nearly impossible because it moves around just from the pressure of me pushing A.

Already went through Steam settings and set the deadzone as high as it'll go, didn't seem to make any difference.

Here's the mods I'm running (excluding graphical)
    Larger Dialog Menu
    MTUI
    Fullscreen Trades and Crates
    ArchiveInvalidation
    Fellout
    Unofficial FO3 Patch
    OneTweak

Installed Fellout and the green tint is gone, but nights are too dark. Full in-game brightness, full monitor brightness, and it's still pitch black at night. Literally unplayable, I have to hope there's no enemies so I can Rest for 10 hours. I tried Fellout Brighter Nights, didn't help. Worse, the game will immediately CTD if I uninstall Fellout

    Gauss rifle damage

    Posted: 14 Jun 2020 01:08 PM PDT

While watching a fo3 video on Youtube, I noticed that the Gauss rifle in the video had close to 100 damage without full repair. My in-game Gauss rifle on the other hand only dies around 60 dmg, even at full condition. Does anyone know why? I have 100 in energy weapons as well as ghoul ecology, superior defender and bloody mess.
