Is there a vault for VaultTec employees or higher ups? Posted: 05 May 2020 08:26 AM PDT So I'm not the most knowledgeable in term of fallout lore. As I was replaying Fallout 4 I stumbled upon different vaults, reading terminals and watching the scenery, then I went to vault 88 then a question came to mind. Is there a Vault for the actual VaultTec people that we know of? Because as most of you know vaults were created for experiments on human subjects more than for they're actual protection. And for these experiments to have any actual use there has to be someone to get results and analyse them. So I was wondering if there was a vault mentioned that I may have missed that was meant for VaultTec. Maybe it could be connected to all of the other vaults in someway or they could get infos from the overseers themselves via terminals? Thanks for reading this, I'm sorry if anything I said didn't make sense as English is not my primary language. [link] [comments] |
Why were there Jackson’s Chameleons in the United States Posted: 05 May 2020 10:03 PM PDT How does a such a small animal survive a holocaust and turn into an 8 ft monster with 5 fingers. Any clues on why there were Jackson chameleons in the US? Did the enclave have them? Chameleons would be the first to go in a nuclear holocaust. [link] [comments] |

What do we know about the sino-american war? Posted: 05 May 2020 06:25 PM PDT There is a lot of lore surrounding this war but it's rather scattered about the wastelands in their perspective games. What immediately comes to mind is the Gobi campaign rifle, operation Anchorage, the red carpet mission from point lookout... What else are cool in game nods/ mentions to the battles before the great war? [link] [comments] |
How exactly is the SAFE test supposed to work? Posted: 05 May 2020 09:50 PM PDT I've been watching a bunch of lore videos, and one thing that's been on my mind is covenant and the safe test. The questions (which we all know to be a callback to fo3) seem wild and random while you're taking the test, but it's later revealed that the test is meant to identify synths. Thing is, they don't go into much detail at all about just how it's supposed to work. We find out from the "28% success rate" report that it really doesn't work, but they don't really at any point explain what they're looking for when administering the test. They fixate quite a lot on the baseball question, grilling subject 12 over and over about his answer, "catcher." At first you wonder, what about answering "catcher" is supposed to point to a synth? The true nature of the question seems to be revealed when dr. chambers asks him "Do you even know the rules of baseball? Do they play baseball in the institute?" This was fascinating to me, because it seemed like it was revealing that the point isn't the answer they give, but the fact that they even know how to answer at all. However, this theory doesn't really hold water, since all of the possible answers, "catcher" "pitcher" "designated hitter" and "I don't play baseball, I play soccer" imply the same thing. All of the answers imply knowledge of baseball. But then the question becomes, if most people don't know about baseball and are just picking a random answer, is their real hypothesis not that "a synth knows what baseball is and a human doesn't" but rather, "when guessing on a multiple choice question, a synth is most likely to pick this particular answer." That can't be applied to every question, though, and while going through the compound, you find some debate among the scientists about the purposes of each of the questions. Things like "Is the last question necessary?" "Question 4 is a red herring" The most interesting point, brought up by dr. Emmanuel Rogers, is: "I know you dismiss my insistence that Q3 is the key, but if we have more sophisticated monitoring of test subjects - EKG, pupil dilation, response time - then the subliminal data would speak volumes. Synths are incapable of true feeling, so again - Question 3." Question 3 is "You discover a young boy lost in a cave. He's hungry and frightened, but also appears to be in possession of stolen property. What do you do?" Is that the true purpose of the test? That the actual answers to the questions dont matter as much as how the person reacts to it? A human will show "true feeling" while a synth will just give an answer with no biological evidence that they care at all? Let me know your thoughts on all of this, maybe we can figure it out together. [link] [comments] |
Non-Vault Dweller Pip-Boy users Posted: 05 May 2020 03:52 PM PDT I was playing through Wastelanders and I had wandered into the wayward. During the initial conversation with Duchess she mentioned something about knowing that I was a Vault Dweller because the "Pip-Boy was a dead giveaway". This is something that comes up a lot in NPC interactions in a lot of different Fallout games and I was wondering, is there is any mention or evidence of a person who wore a Pip-Boy and wasn't a Vault Dweller? Posted: 05 May 2020 08:54 PM PDT Regarding the lore between the Deathclaws in Fo 1,2,3,NV and the Deathclaws in Fo4, is there a given explanation for why they appear differently between games? I haven't found anything relative to it, but my best guess is that when the bombs fell and irradiated the land, they mutated the creatures exposed to the blast and subsequent radiation. They maintain the same look from FO3 into New Vegas, but not into FO4. Is it just a design choice? Is there something to do with the the locations (best guess is Massachusetts lakes contained a less refined amount of rads?)? Any input? [link] [comments] |
Where in 'The Divide', from Lonesome Road, in the real world? Posted: 05 May 2020 10:55 AM PDT I always find it interesting learning where the games are in reality. [link] [comments] |
Did the 60s rock revolution ever happen in fallout Posted: 05 May 2020 10:50 AM PDT We know Elvis exists in Fallout, but what about the Beatles or other music groups like that? [link] [comments] |
Where did all the survivors in like fo3 or 4 come from? Posted: 05 May 2020 03:45 PM PDT Ok, im not an expert on nukes, radaition or anything like that, but considering how there are a lot of skeletons in seemingly normal places (on benches, in bathrooms, by cars etc) it makes me think most skeletons we see are pre war. So im wondeeing where did all the people in fallout 3, or mainly 4, came from. Theres lots of people in the cities, bos airport, and can come to your settlements if ur with the minuitemen, not to mention the absurd ammount of raiders and gunners. So im wondering how they all survived. Not only the explosion, but the ensuing radiation that probably surrounded boston. Some people went into bunkers, but they would have to come out eventually for supplies. Also, i doubt many people were really preparing for a nuclear apocalypse. Idk its just weird with the amount of survivors, raiders, and other folk have survived. Srry for dragging on [link] [comments] |
What was vault-Tec going to do with the information gathered from the vaults test? Posted: 05 May 2020 10:54 AM PDT I understand that each vault had it's own test on each of its inhabitants, but what did vault'-tec do with the results of these test if they ever got the information back from the vaults?
