How did security around Sierra Madre work?

Father Elijah mentions he was trapped inside, so how did he get inside without Gala event? What about the trapped guests? The gala event should have been the entry ticket inside the suites and casino, then why were they already inside? Let's say they were allowed to stay inside before, then how do the hologram protocols change with and without the gala event being triggered? In short, I want to know the security protocols before and after the Gala event triggering.

Why in the world would people build a settlement around an undetonated nuclear bomb when Springville is practically down the road, and largely intact?

    How are legionnaires trained?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 01:36 AM PDT

I get that a lot of legionnaires are trained from birth and that this is showed at the Fort, but how does the Legion train adults that they've recently enslaved?

We know that Caesar's Legion enslaves every tribe they conquer. Men are forced to work or become soldiers, with the latter being the most common form of male enslavement, or they are killed. All woman are forced to become servants.

My question is just how does the Legion determine who they make soldiers and who they force into work? I'm assuming there's a physical test of some sort and I wanna figure out what that test would be. I wonder if its like gladatorial combat, as we see at the Fort and with the initiation trials of the Great Kahns at Red Rock, or whether there's some sort of series of strength and endurance tests, culminating in the arena as the final test.

I would like to know if anybody has any thoughts on what this test could be ans whether it is referenced in in-game lore or if we can ascertain it from what we know of actual Roman History and then by applying it to the Legion.

Any lore behind the NCR armor design (Not mentioning the Ranger's Riot gear armor)

    Posted: 07 May 2020 11:57 PM PDT

I seem to recall there being similarities or something to the armor the Chinese use in Operation Anchorage, but do we really know anything behind the design choice the NCR uses? If it is Chinese design then does it come from Shi?

Like there isn't a off button. And they've been on for over 200 hundred years.
