    Fallout 5 - Annexed Canada

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:09 PM PDT

Since the US annexed Canada I thought it could be an interesting wilderness to set a new game in, certainly more rural. And since Fallout has always been about America I figured it could be interesting to see how the corrupt governemnt handled things in the newly annexed country - just thinking back to the introduction of Fallout 1...

"Our boys keep the peace in annewly annexed Canada"

    US soldier caps a POW

Cpuld make for interesting lore and location, but would obviously need development to justify a game there.

The ability to play an evil character is an interesting aspect of the Fallout games.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:12 PM PDT

really admire how the Fallout games effectively make the protagonist evil if players choose to see what would happen. I must admit, some of the stuff you can do are terrifying.

For example, how in Fallout 1 and 2 children could get killed, and how that attracts bounty hunters to kill the main character. The people of the Wasteland want to see you dead. There is more but that is the most notable thing in those games that are evil.

In Fallout 3, we could burn Harold alive which is so disturbing and cruel I never did it myself in a playthrough. His screams...

Fallout New Vegas has a few good ones like the NCR Memorial where a trooper who lost a brother gets upset at you for shooting the memorial and the Courier can call him and his dead brother a bitch. There is also the dialogue with Cass when you insult her family.

Good, go back to your famil... oh wait, they're fucking dead.

New Vegas has so many fucked up lines I remember.

There is also in Fallout 4 where you can straight up kill Kent Connolly in the Silver Shroud quest before talking to his kidnapper. Doing this causes all the raiders present to look on in absolute horror for how you just straight up murdered the person who expected to be saved. They just turn speechless and doesn't help that the Sole Survivor can make a creepy response about how they are going to enjoy killing everyone in the room in a nonchalant tone.

I will admit, I hardly play an evil playthrough but damn there are sometimes effective in portraying a cold-hearted monster.

Wearing Caesar's armor during Eureka in NV

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 06:51 AM PDT

Anyone else done this? I was finishing my first NCR playthrough and since I'd killed Caesar earlier in the game, I thought it'd be funny to march to the Legate camp wearing his armor as kind of a fuck you to the Legion. Turns out when you wear his armor during Eureka, the NCR doesn't go hostile and the Legion totally ignore your presence. Lanius makes a comment like "WTF? when you talk to him, and then since my speech was 100 I was basically just like "Go away dude" and the game ended. Pretty anti-climactic but a lot of fun

    Pre-war Fallout Game Idea

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:49 PM PDT

I'd love to see a "prequel style" fallout game or maybe even just a dlc where you play during a pre-war time period. Kinda like the the intro sequence of FO4, but longer. It's interesting to see the lore explored more from the player's persoective rather than from stories / relics.

I imagine it would be cool like you can be a spy-type character trying to infiltrate the gov't to prevent the bombs falling but you ultimately fail or maybe prevent just a few from landing on US soil. Maybe you get to meet ancestors of characters we've already met or maybe Vault Tec can even be one of the factions.

I know it's not what the series is known for but it could be cool to see like what Far Cry did with Primal. Also in my fantasy, Obsidian would write it.

    What do you think?

    Converting 10,000 Pounds to Stimpaks

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:05 PM PDT

I just walked all the way from Megaton to Meseti with my 150-hour collection of unnecessary items. I am now going to spend the next four hours turning it all into stimpaks, and the 168 hours after that wondering why on earth I just did that because why on earth would I need so many goddamn stimpaks when I have the Gauss Rifle with 9000 shots?

One horror I don't recall seeing in the series... elevator full of skeletons

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 04:51 PM PDT

I might have missed or forgotten it, but so far I've never seen an elevator that is full of skeletons.

Such a sight would be a truly horrifying realization that at least the people in that elevator probably got trapped when the bombs fell and starved to death in the dark.

Hypothetical: What if House had access to Synth tech? (possible spoilers)

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:15 PM PDT

Title, I think it would've made for an absolutely ground-breaking level of influence for Robert 'n New Vegas.

With access to thinking; breathing and effectively human simulacrums he could control, House's ability to stack the deck in his favor would be near limitless. The Institute was focused wholly on the science of it all it seems. House's Securitrons (ESPECIALLY the MK IIs) are absolutely nothing to sneeze at. Self-repairing robots with 40MM belt fed grenade launchers 'n Laser MGs probably put his creations second MAYBE only to BOS's troops en-masse and even then I'd put my chips on House because you can only muster so many suits of power-armor and bodies to fill them that are trained in their effective use.

Synths on the other hand could very well be the scalpel to the Securitron's hammer. Having easily controlled machines that will twist political ties in your favor would make a man who is already politically and business-wise savvy to an extreme degree to a near unmatched scale.

    Thoughts?

What do you guys think of environment playing a role in survival? As in weather and temperature have to be considered when playing.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 02:10 PM PDT

Depending on the temp/weather, it will give you debuffs such as slower AP regen and slower movement when it's too cold or costing more AP to use VATS and run when it's too hot. On top of that, if your wearing the wrong type of clothing (i.e. wearing heavy gear when it's hot) you'll suffer twice as much, potentially even dying. It's a little unrefined and just came from the top of my head but I think it would be interesting to see a system like this used.

Lore of places we haven’t seen in fallout?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:39 PM PDT

I've always wanted to know what happened to other states and areas that we haven't been to yet, I really want to go to the Colorado area, considering I'm from there, and always wanted to see what Denver would be like in a future game

What's the weirdest build you've ever done? In addition, What is your favorite build? (Any game)

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:54 PM PDT

I did maybe half of my fallout 4 playthroughs as a stealth commando sniper (I.E automatic build paired with sneak) In New Vegas you can't go wrong with a crit build. In addition, I'm halfwas through an unarmed/melee run in 4. What are your favorites/most interesting builds?

What's your favorite random encounters or general random detail in FO4?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 03:21 AM PDT

I've picked up FO4 again during quarantine and trying to actually play it through to the end so maybe there's some encounters that I haven't stumbled upon yet. My favorite so far, mainly because it's so random and doesn't really fit in with the general atmosphere of the game, is where you stumble across a mr. gutsy somewhere up NE of the map, pretty close to Mahkra fishpacking plant.

If I recall it correctly the mr.gutsy goes on about staying out past curfew and trying to command you to go back inside whereas the MC proceeds to mock the robot and imitates him with a childish voice. It seems so oddly out of character for what the MC usually express (even though you can choose to go with sarcasm for dialogue options, but that's usually pretty lame) I think it's hilarious and so random.

Are there any mods to fix my Fallout New Vegas freezing all the time?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 02:37 AM PDT

The music or audio stays the same but the screen freezes so much.

There are also times when the music or audio loops while the screen freezes (ex: in Johnny Guitar, I was always-ways-ways-ways-ways) and it loops until I either force stop the game or shut down my PC.

How do I fix this problem?

edit: this nearly always happens when I try to use my pip-boy in operation anchorage in TTW

Could a Gen 2 synth achieve independent thought/sentience, or is that exclusive to the later models?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:31 PM PDT

I'm working on a story for fun and I'm thinking of including a character who's a sentient Gen 2 synth. Would such a thing be possible? Can only Gen 3 synths think independently?

Let’s give some love for the new additions to the Nuka Cola family

If haven't played the wastelanders dlc of Fallout 76 you should atleast try it for these bad boys. The all new Nuka Shrine (I know this was here before wastelanders but still a new Nuka Cola), Nuka Cola Cranberry and easily my favorite Nuka Cola My Blood's In It. All of these being new and interesting flavors that's great for thirst quenching and display purposes.

What was the purpose behind vault tec doing all of those grisly experiments instead of being real safe places to hide from the war?

What builds do you associate with each faction in Fallout 4?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 02:04 PM PDT

    Minutemen: Rifleman

    Brotherhood: Heavy Gunner w/ PA

    Railroad: Stealth

    Institute: Commando

    This is what I think.

Point Lookout or Mothership Zeta first?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 02:08 PM PDT

This isn't about weapon stats or dlc difficulty or anything like that. This is simply about whether it's better to play an abducted hillbilly and kill aliens with hillbilly weapons, or kill hillbillies with alien weapons.

Fallout 3 Mod for organising objects

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 03:50 AM PDT

Does anyone know if there is a mod for Fallout 3 that makes it easier to put unique items on the Tenpeny tower house shelf? Do any mod allow to place them in the same way that the bobblehead are placed? I'm sick of having to put them on manually and they fall off continuously. I'd like to place them like this 👇👇 picture

    Fallout tactics Remake anyone?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2020 02:48 AM PDT

With gears tactics releasing, and getting pretty good scores from critics, who would be interested in a squad based fallout game? I've never played fallout tactics: brotherhood of steel, and to be honest it's showing its age, but I adore the new XCOM games and think the fallout universe would transition rather well.

There could be various choices throughout the game that let u pick which faction to join, each with unique recruits , such as mutants, raiders, BOS, etc.

There could be armour and weapon upgrades, base management, vault raids for old tech.

    Could be fun.
