I was given this by a good friend many years ago. I've missed many opportunities to get some of the newer ones that have been released but this one is mine and I'm happy.

I also got a place to hang it up.

Another wasteland wanderer in Goodsprings this weekend. Super hot bartender gal showed me all of her fallout stuff. Highly recommended pilgrimage for fellow NV fanatics.

Fallout 5 should have raider factions be an actual thing

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 02:54 AM PST

sort of like in new veags with the different gangs and raider factions but have it so that you can fully become one of them and do lots of quests within the faction

rather than having raiders just be random always hostile enemies

My experience with Fallout 4 Survival Mode

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 02:13 PM PST

Recently, I decided to start a playthrough of Fallout 4 on the survival difficulty. At first I thought it was a fun challenge, managing carry weight, settlements, food/water suppy, and traveling everywhere on foot.

However, the farther I got into my playthrough, the buggier the game began to feel. Vertibirds I would fly in would clip through buildings, the minigun would disappear, sometimes it would take off without my character getting out leading to me falling to my death. But before playing survival I never used the vertibird signal grenades so I assumed this was normal considering I'm playing a Bethesda game.

I started to think that this wasn't exactly the case when the farther I got into the game, crashes and freezes would become more and more frequent. When I cleared out The Castle settlement the framerate slowed to a crawl when the mirelurk queen emerged. Sometimes I can't even sleep in a bed, interact with settlers, or build without crashing the game.

Situations like this were exteremely rare before I started playing survival. Is this normal for survival mode? I'm playing on Xbox One if that means anything.

Fallout 1 and 2 for $20 on steam

I saw this and have always wanted to play the classics. I was wondering if they are cheaper somewhere else though.

You Ever Put Your Items In a Trash Can Because You're Over Encumbered And Forget Where the Trash Can Is?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:06 PM PST

My girlfriend is checking all of her settlements, every god damned container, Nuka World, random places, every nook and cranny, to find half of her gun stash because she wanted to pick up some armor a couple of months back and forgot about it until now. I mean... I still can't find that dumpster I put Ashmaker in. -facepalm-

If there's a Fallout 5, I really hope it keeps Fallout 4's pickpocketing system.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 11:04 AM PST

I was doing a sneaky Fallout New Vegas playthrough yesterday (that game holds up SO well with mods, it's amazing that it's 10 years old), and I was doing the "Come Fly With Me" Quest. Until I checked the wiki and found that there was a spare Jail Key in a nearby desk, I spent a while fruitlessly trying to pick the pocket of the Nightkin Jailer.

Fallout 4 has spoiled me, and I hope the series doesn't go back.

Two Special stats (perception and agility), as well as a perk with no gated requirements (Pickpocket), affect the chance of success, allowing for a lot of specialisation, and things like power armour can be neutralised by it.

The previous games, however, don't seem to let players use it on hostile NPCs, even if fully hidden. This means that it stops being an option once combat has begun, which is a bit of a killjoy, and it makes grenade placement a non-viable strategy for anything other than jokes in most circumstances.

I don't know exactly what the formula for success is in Fallout NV, but it doesn't seem to be based on agility or sneak (10 and 50, respectively). Perception, maybe?

What are the actual modifiers for damage for difficulty?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 01:17 AM PST

Is easy 50% less damage normal? Or is very easy 50%?

I totally recommend reading Swan Song

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:09 PM PST

So I was kinda digging around for books that had stories that resembled the Fallout Universe. Obviously there is The Road, Metro 2033 and whatnot, but I wanted something akin to the start of Fallout 4 and what happened immediately after the bombs fell.

Enter Swan Song. This book is great at describing the horror of what it was like as the bombs fell and what happened directly afterwards. I haven't finished it yet, about half way through, but if you are looking to read a book that follows pretty close to what happened in Fallout immediately after the bombs fell I'd really suggest it.

Book was written in 1987 or so, so I am sure it had some influence on Fallout, although I googled that and couldn't find anything linking it. Regardless it's a solid Post Nuclear Apocalypse story that I fully recommend.

If anyone replies try to keep the spoilers light. Others like myself might not have read it yet.

Anything I should keep in mind starting 76 for the first time?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 01:47 AM PST

So I'm starting the game next week; got 3 days off and the girls out of town, so I figured this would be a perfect time to fully engross myself in the game, especially when we got wastelanders coming out soonish.

As someone who played F3, NV, and F4 to Platinum several times, can you guys think of any important details I should be thinking of going into F76?

    Fallout 4 for switch?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 02:48 PM PST

Honestly i'd love to see a switch port of fallout 4. They did it for skyrim (and cd project red did it with witcher 3 with is a way more graphically intensive game) so a fallout 4 port might not be far fetched i think.

What do you guys and gals think?

Besides the Megaton and Tenpenny homes, what places can be lived in in Fallout 3?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:02 PM PST

So I've done goofed and started the process of blowing up Megaton, but have since decided that I want to keep it. I now can't get either player home because of it. Are there any places in the game that can act as houses with containers that don't reset?

Game breaking bug in fallout 4

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:58 PM PST

Recently I was replaying fallout 4 and encounters a bug where every time I scrap a junk item, the components disappear from my inventory. I literally can't craft or upgrade anything. Anybody know a fix or work around?

    P.s. I don't play with mods
