I just started to play New Vegas again and I made this phone wallpaper! I hope you guys like it (:

I love that this game doesn't suck my d*ck every time I do something.

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:55 AM PDT

The first time I played skyrim, I thought it was funny that I was the dragon born, the "king" of thieves, the Arch mage, and the leader of the companions (forgot the title). All at the same time. I felt the same thing in Fallout 4 after becoming the General, and then the CEO of the Institute.

But after playing these and other recent games, I'm noticing a trend.

I didnt realized how much i was being empowered, until I played FNV.

Bethesda (and others) has been doing this "empowering" trend for a long time now that it's become like a formula they stick to. And I think the stories and quests suffer for it.

Then I started playing FNV, and I love that everywhere I go, I'm just another wastelander among other wastelanders. Even when doing the absolute most good. People have heard of me, or know of me, but they still treat you as a stranger. And they don't fawn over you after helping them.

Which makes sense for the setting. If a group of raiders gets gunned down after a failed raid, the people would celebrate a victory, but after that it's business as usual. One guy doing what everyone else does on a daily basis isn't that special.

Doom Eternal does the same thing. Everyone is afraid of you. Which makes for a funny interactions the first time through. But I know it's gonna wear on me after the 3rd playthrough.

Does anyone else feel the same way about Bethesda or the newer games in general?

Why I felt bad for killing Mr. House

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:09 PM PDT

Has almost nothing to do with his goals and policies, but mostly because he went through he trouble of showing the courier that cute presentation with the securitrons upgraded weapons just because he was proud of them and wanted to show them off to someone he thought cared.

I found some sort of infinite dynamite or explosive glitch, but have no clue how i got it.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 05:38 AM PDT

So i went into primm and pickpocketed an escaped convict, and then I throw a dynamite and notice that my next one was invisible. I figured it was some texture glitch and moved on, and them noticed that one, i couldn't throw it in vats, but could still enter vats, and two I wouldn't deplete any dynamite. I haven't been able to recreate this glitch whatsoever, and I haven't found it documented anywhere, have I just discovered a glitch? Can anyone try and recreate it? Edit: also important, I'm on xbox one for this, in case it matters. Edit 2: after checking my inventory, I found I have 2 lots of dynamite equipped, one that says "dynamite (5)" and just "dynamite" despite my bar thing saying I have 15.

    Being stalked by Victor

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 07:20 PM PDT

I took a sleep in my Novac room's bed and when I woke up, Victor was standing there and just casually said something like "Howdy partner, fancy meeting you here!" In my own home? Yeah, who would have thought I'd be there. Somehow he had broken into my room. That sick fuck was watching me sleep for hours. I had the option to ask "how did you get here?" and he said "I just followed my spurs". After speaking with him, he ran out of the room, like a peeping Tom escaping the girls locker room.

I'm an experienced player, so obviously I know this was just a bit of a glitch, but it made for a funny moment, especially because I had the option to ask how he got there and because he was programmed to give a non-answer. From a role playing perspective, I'd like to think he was creeping on me and that Victor is secretly a total pervert who loves to watch people sleep.

Where's the weirdest place he has appeared for you? I know it's only supposed to happen outside of Novac by the sign right?

    The NCR's Cut Content

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:05 PM PDT

My friend started playing recently. I asked her what she thought of the NCR, and she said "Eh. They're Democrats."

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:41 AM PDT

I kind of love that summation. If it's not clear, she meant it as "Largely well intentioned but too conservative for radical change, ineffectual and overly co-opted by business interests. Disappointing but better than the alternative."

She also had really complicated thoughts on the Khans cause her dad was a biker, and she kept wishing they could be less self destructive. She didn't realize there was a way to get them to go their own way, and was very happy when I told her.

This is why I love the writing in this game so much... The prose isn't always great, some of it is downright weak, but the factions and withholding are so deep and nuanced.

That's all, just wanted to share.

    Help brainstorming a build

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 05:43 AM PDT

I'm trying to make a vats addict 100 skill build for my first normal playthrough of new vegas with all the DLC, with crits on the side as a bonus. I'm having the most difficulty trying to find weapons that would work best and perks to go with them. I wanna stay away from DLC specific weapons (save GRA) as I don't know when I'll get to them.

    My special is in this order (final): 3(7) 5(6) 7(8) 1 7(8) 9(10) 8(9)

Traits: Kamikaze and Built to Destroy

Armor: Ulysses Duster, Lucky Shades, 1st Recon

And my perks as of now:

    Black Widow

    Educated

    Comprehension

    Vigilant Recycler

    Finesse

    Rapid Reload

    Jury Rigging

    Better Criticals

    Light Touch

    Center of Mass

    Voracious Reader

    Laser Commander

    Meltdown

    Bloody Mess

    Implant GRX(2)

    Chemist

    Math Wrath

    Grim Reaper Sprint

    Nerves of Steel

    Action Girl(2)

    Toughness(2)

    Karma Perk

**And now the weapons that I think might be useful with this build**

A side note: I'm mostly looking for guns with low spread to use in vats and high dps outside of it as separate weapons. Crit multipliers are a bonus but I wanna avoid using two weapons that use the same ammo. My four gun categories are: close range, casual range, sniper, and 'It need to die now!'.

Pew Pew- By my numbers, it outdoes the Ranger Sequoia and can be purely compatible with a guns purist build with it's low requirements. A quick two shot kill in vats that can combo incredibly with Grim Reaper. My original choice for for general short to medium range combat. (STR 1)

YCS/186- My energy equivalent for Paciencia. Good for medium to long range combat and short range vats. (STR 5)

AER14- The poster boy for vats critical energy weapons, but I'm not sure if its stopping power will compare to the others during the late game. (STR 3)

SW9700- this is my energy equivalent of 'it needs to die now' weapon. However, unlike the riot gun, this works better at longer ranges due to its low spread. I'm just not sure how well it would handle close quarters like the Riot gun can. (STR 6)

**Tell me what you think of this spread and please give some advice on some changes I could add. I'm still relatively new at the game and I'd like to go in with a plan if possible.**

    Implants and SPECIAL

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 08:13 AM PDT

I recently learned about the OWB respec opportunity. I know implants are tied to endurance but I'm curious to know about the ones that are actually useful and by extension know whether I should change my endurance of 6. I do want to have some special points left over on luck as I regret having luck at 7 with implant on my sniper.

    S-6, P-7, E-6, C-3, I-6, A-6, L-7(with implant) .

[Shameless Mod Plug] FCO - The Last Few Edits

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 03:05 AM PDT

Hello gentlemen, mod author for the mod FCO - The Last Few Edits here - it's a mod for completely covering all Vanilla and DLC NPC's for Fallout Character Overhaul if you haven't already downloaded this mod.

Approximately 80-90% of NPC's has been covered and I'm currently on the process of finally finishing the mod but need some help on finding remaining untouched NPC's or any needed improvements. Well, I could do it myself as I'm running another play-through(need to sort out my modlist first) and find them myself but "the more eyes the better" as they always say.

    Thanks!

How do I solve this glitch? I've disabled all mods on vortex and the only thing I have left is the ENB. Whenever I aim with any gun it will always have this perspective where it is much higher.

I'm aiming for NCR victory and need some help

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 05:23 PM PDT

How many Yes Man and Mr House quests can I make to still have NCR victory at the end? I'll be Killing House at some point, so no big deal there, but can I be making quests for Yes Man up to the point when it is requested to upload him to net or something?

I finished with Yes Man ending long time ago so I don't remember it clearly. No need to be elaborate, just tip me with your experience.
