Posted: 13 Jan 2020 10:48 AM PST I personally enjoy it because there were actual choices to be made that affected the outcome of the story- aka, it made the game an actual roleplaying game [link] [comments] |
When exactly did the Children of Atom arrive in Far Harbor and how violent were they? Posted: 13 Jan 2020 08:58 PM PST Maybe I missed something but the timeline seems confusing to me. From what I could gather from dialogue the CoA arrived in the island within the last 10 years under the orders of Confessor Cromwell. The way the characters act also indicates that the conflict between the Harbormen and the culists is relatively recent and spurned on by Confessor Martin being replaced by the much more warlike Tektus along with Allen Lee killing one of their missionaries. However, when conversing with Old Longfellow he states that the reason for his hatred for the Children is that years ago when he and his bride to be were attacked by Cultists and she was converted, leading to her and her unborn child's death. Now Old Longfellow is no spring chicken, says so in the name itself, so the children must have been there and already violent against the Harbormen for decades. Doesn't this completely contradict Dima's assertion that Martin led the Children peacefully? Why in the hell would the so-called peaceful Martin allow his followers to beat a man to near death (Longfellow states it took him two months to recover), kidnap his wife and let their child die due to radiation induced miscarriage? And if it wasn't him then how long have the Children been in Far Harbor for them to attack Longfellow when he was still young? [link] [comments] |

What are the creepiest moments/places you've seen in Fallout? Posted: 13 Jan 2020 09:22 PM PST I'll never forget the one vault I went into that had a bunch of drugs or something pumping through the air system and your character started hallucinating and it was super freaky. There was another vault where a man named Gary got cloned or something, and there were a lot of Garys and they for some reason keep screaming their own name while attacking you. There were some areas of Big Mt from New Vegas that were kinda creepyish due to all the experimentation that went on there. You see some truly bizarre shit while you're there. What are yours? Posted: 13 Jan 2020 09:33 PM PST I've put 5+ hours into fallout 4 on survival and haven't come across a single legendary enemy yet. I thought legendaries were supposed to pop up waaaaay more frequently? Anyone else ever have this problem? [link] [comments] |
The weirdest choice about Fallout 4's story Posted: 13 Jan 2020 04:16 PM PST I know everyone likes to shit on Fallout 4 for being the definition of wasted potential, but tbh my biggest problem is that the main storyline is completely out of place for Fallout. The series was initially (1 and 2 mainly) about how humanity would live in a world where society has been destroyed and survival of the fittest is the law of the world. It explored the moral complexities of a ruthless world and demonstrated how humanity's competing ideas and visions for the future leads to tribalism and factionism. Fallout 3 was about the people living in a ruined world and trying to rebuild society despite extreme differences. New Vegas is about people divided between rebuilding society, just surviving or returning to barbarity. These stories all make sense for a post apocalyptic setting. However, the main conflict of Fallout 4 is about what makes us human and whether artificial people should be considered human. This is so weird to me, because that's most definitely a sci-fi plot rather than a post-apoclyptic one. All other games require and build on the backdrop of the post apocalypse, but Fallout 4 takes a sci-fi plot and inserts it into the post apocalypse. This results in a ridiculous disconnect between the main question being explored and the world it is explored in. Why should survivors and settlers be worried about the status of artificial humans when they have to focus on surviving their day to day lives? Why should the Brotherhood of Steel care so much that they fly all the way to Boston while the world is literally in ruins? Why do the Railroad care so much about synth lives that they essentially treat them as more important than the lives of the humans struggling to live in the wasteland? If anyone can explain to me why Fallout 4's main story needs the context of a post apocalypse, please explain it to be, because it's the most bizarre choice to me regarding Fallout 4's development. Everything else can be accounted to a change in priorities (focusing on combat over story, removing skills and simplifying a lot of things etc), but at some point in the game's production the writers or producers or whoever decide to create a story about the mortal complexities of artificial life in a series which is set in the post apocalypse and has always been about studying human nature in this particular context [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Jan 2020 10:47 PM PST Just wondering if it's any better, the same, or worse. Love the games, but I get so tired of the random freezes, especially after trying it on PC with the community patch that made it a perfect experience for me. [link] [comments] |
About to start a new Fo2 playthrough Posted: 13 Jan 2020 01:29 PM PST My first Fallout 2 playthrough in 10 years or more. Any fun/interesting stuff to do on a new playthrough? Interesting builds, doing the Navarro run etc. Anything that's easy to miss early game? [link] [comments] |
How can i change the scrap button in the settlement workshop to a different button? Posted: 14 Jan 2020 04:35 AM PST Ive looked in the controls page but nothing comes up for it. I want to change it to one of my mouse side buttons to make it easier. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jan 2020 04:29 AM PST So fallout 4 there's the Cool Cats gang on the east side of the game, on q cape and there is just a power aurmor suit right there in the open, near a makeshift shelter. Get in it when no one is around and fast travel somewhere else. It's yours. [link] [comments] |

Cool Fallout Quiz about the main games Posted: 13 Jan 2020 12:56 PM PST I wanted to share with you a quiz I found and I liked it a lot. I think it has a nice mix of almost every Fallout game (I did not see any questions about Fallout: Shelter but mainly from main series). Anyway, I got 27 out of 30 correct so I am pretty happy with my score. Here's the link - http://www.quizzy-world.com/fallout-games-knowledge-quiz/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jan 2020 03:39 PM PST The calendar from the beginning fallout 4. I couldn't find a high quality version of all the months or the main poster so I remade them in illustrator. All months are correct to the year 2077. Enjoy! [link] [comments] |
Is the alarm clock from Fallout 4 based on a real clock? Posted: 13 Jan 2020 05:51 PM PST I know some items in the game were based on a specific real life counterpart, like the radio was modeled after a specific 1950s Zenith radio. Does anyone know if the clock was modeled after a real clock, and if so, what clock it is? [link] [comments] |
What would you call the “genre” of music that plays in Fallout 4? Posted: 13 Jan 2020 02:10 PM PST |
Posted: 13 Jan 2020 01:54 PM PST What are some of your favorite side quests in Fallout 4? I'm wanting to explore the Commonwealth a bit more, level up, and gather more ammo. But mostly have fun. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jan 2020 08:37 PM PST To be frank, the Fallout games suffer terribly from a timeline-world disconnect. Most buildings would long since rotted away, and any items would have been looted or decayed away into nothing. Almost everything about the current Fallout series requires us to ignore that the bombs fell over 200 years ago to make sense. Weapons sitting out would have seized up, any old ammo stocks would be inert, electronics would have failed, power lines corroded to dust, the list goes on. The worlds of FO3, FO4, and FONV suffer from this, even the older fallout's to a somewhat lesser degree. Now assuming these things bother you like they do me the next problem becomes how to make a believable game world that still manages to be fun. What do you think about a kind of dual series system that has different world-designs? Split the timeline up keeping a modified form of the current series with another set much closer to when the bombs dropped. The series closer to the great war could be more like current Fallout games in terms of abundance of materials and world-space design. The series placed where we are currently in the timeline could have a more overgrown feel with pre-war relics being actual items of incredible value, most things being of post war production. Underground worldspaces like subways, basements, military bunkers, and vaults could provide a taste the old-world, but the vast majority of the above ground world would be nature and post war settlements. I want both the fun that comes from a nuclear hellhole and a world that actually changes and moves beyond the past. However, trying to stick both these things into each game has detracted from the series in my opinion. [link] [comments] |
