I just realized it's called the Big Empty, because it's spelt Big MT. And some pre-war dumbasses didn't know how to abbreviate mountain.

If you get alot of fruits or vegetables, you can bring them to the sink to biological research station to make broc flower and xander root, and you can loot cups and bring them to muggy and get empty syringes and you can make a hella lot of stimpacks, no more problem healing yourself

There is no hope for the future, everyone must let go

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 07:33 PM PDT

In New Vegas, or any fallout game (NOT MADE BY BETHESDA), the theme is clearly about the fact humanity never changes and is doomed to repeat it's mistakes. Despite us generally knowing this, we are ignorant to it as we argue over which faction is right. The reality is, there is only one faction - Humanity, and it will never be right.

Regardless if the NCR, Legion, Enclave, or House wins, nothing will change. Most try to achieve to create something that is like the old world, the NCR for example, or be brutal enough to change human nature, like Caesar. Neither of these work, because the Old World was flawed and recreating it will only lead it to facing the problems the old world did, and Caesar in no way is a god who can change human nature.

No matter what happens as long as humans breath, they will fight and kill each other, and there is no hope to that changing. Maybe what's best for the world is letting it finally die out, as it was meant to after the first great war, leaving only remnants of societies that never worked.

As Dead Money points out, you can never really "Begin Again" you can only "Let Go"

SPOILERS: TIL my favorite new phrase

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 06:57 PM PDT

    SPOILERS

Hundreds of hours in the game. Not a YUGE "today I learned", but I had always either chose the rewards of drugs or more fame from taking no payment when teaching Jack how to make the various chems.

Today, for the first time, I decided to ask for caps, and found out his response to it is, "Here's a little tink-tink to weight your pockets."

This is objectively the coolest line of dialogue in the entire game and I will bare-knuckle box anyone who disagrees. I'll find any excuse to slip this phrase into conversation for the rest of my life.

This would make a cool "secret handshake" among hardcore fans.

    War... Groovy.

I was going for an NCR ending and accidentally locked myself out of it by helping House. My last save before it was 4 hours and two levels ago. Is there any way to fix this?

"At Cardiac Arrest, the first procedure is to check your own pulse."

    -Samuel Shem, house of God

Here's the first chapter of the first draft of a medically themed New Vegas story I've been writing!

It's set just a couple years before the events of New Vegas. I've been working on the story for the better part of two years now, thought you guys might enjoy it. I'll post a link to the rest of the first draft for those interested.
