What would you like to see from a new fallout game?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:32 AM PDT

I personally would love to go back to some basics from fallout 3 and new vegas. Dialogue with options, reputation and an abundance of factions to partake in. Just to name a few. I would also like to see an improvement in npcs and characters moving more fluently with more motion. Body movement like RDR2

[Edit] This is really cool I never had a post blow up like this before. I love all the awesome ideas guys, great conversations to be had!

If you could pick a song for the entire fallout franchise what would you pick?

    Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:24 AM PDT

Personally I would pick a song called "That's The Bag I'm In" by Fred Neil

Ps. It doesn't necessarily need to fit in the fallout universe ( such as older music ) just a song you think fits the story and overall meaning of fallout games.

    Ideas for Fallout Factions

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:53 PM PDT

Hey guys! New here. I got this idea for a faction in Fallout. So you guys know how Chinese-Americans were sent to concentration camps during the Sino-American War? Imagine one of those concentration camps being taken over by the prisoners after the bombs fell and being turned into a stronghold and safe haven for the descendants of those prisoners.

Because of the horrible experiences of their forefathers, these descendants are highly xenophobic and distrusting of anyone not of their own kind. Unfortunately for their neighbors, this faction also has access to many pre-war military technologies left over by their former captors and they've used it to expand and conquer, establishing their own domain under the leadership of their chief.

They also hate being called reds, communists, chinks or even American, the last one because they felt betrayed by the government that saw them as spies and traitors.

What do you guys think? Any more ideas for Fallout factions?

I love Fallout 3, but it has some problems.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 06:08 PM PDT

Fallout 3 is an amazing game, I love it and a lot of what it did, but it has a few problems in my opinion with the choices you can make.

You can blow up Megaton because why not? You want to see the cool explosion right?

But what impact on the actual game world does it have? Virtually none. Yes Megaton's gone but really all you're missing is a few side characters and the Strength bobblehead. You're still forced to do Moira's quest afterward.

You can let Tennpenny Tower be over run with ghouls. All this changes are the people you see when you go to trade there, nothing else.

You get to leave Big Town to die, again you just loose some vendors and nothing else.

You can return to Vault 101, and by doing that you only really get 2 things you can do: Get the medicine bobblehead if you missed it before, and if you get Amata to be the Overseer you get Butch as a companion option. Butch, the kid who bullied and beat you for years up until he needed your help.

And you get to activate the water purifier, but what impact does that have WITHOUT THE BROKEN STEEL DLC WHICH YOU NEED TO KEEP PLAYING AFTER THE END OF THE GAME? (Sorry just constantly annoyed by that)

Oh and let's talk about the end of the game. At the ending slide show you're either one of two things: a guy who bravely saved the Capitol Wasteland forever who heroically sacrificed themselves, or a coward who let someone else do it. With BS (Broken Steel) you're still a coward if you let the Super Mutant, Ghoul or Mr Gutsy companions go in because they're immune to radiation.

There's also the Enclave. What were their goals? Eden's was to wipe out all irradiated life. The player knows that this is a bad thing, but why is that what Eden wants? Because humanity can't rebuild with irradiated people? Eden and the Enclave have been on the West Coast, they've seen the Brotherhood and NCR over there who defeated them. A bunch of irradiated savages beat the pure blooded Enclave on the West, why would they not be able to rebuild the same as the NCR did on the East?

And what was Autumn's goal? Seriously what did he want? It seems like all he really wanted was an Enclave sticker on the Purifier. He's never given a clear goal.

I love Fallout 3, I keep replaying it even now, but its so weird that there isn't as much to do with long term in-game impact or villain motive.

How do vaults deal with dead bodies

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:54 PM PDT

Say someone who is living in a vault and the die of old age or from a illness (if that's even possible) how do they get rid of it? Do they bury it, burn it or do something else.

I find it strange there is no mention of a city forming around the purifier in Fallout 4.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:06 PM PDT

I have only done a couple of the main quests lines so I might be wrong on this.

When you activate Project Purity you are essentially purifying the entire Potomac River. As soon as word gets out about the purifying being activated people would flock in droves to D.C. because of the essentially free clean water. It would probably attract enough people to start a small city state most likely ran by the Brotherhood Of Steel.

If a city/state were to pop up it would be the start of a new civilization because that river could support almost everything needed to run a small city state. It could support many thousands of people and even possibly support massive farms for this possible city as well.

I am confused on why no one other than the BoS mentions anything about D.C. let alone Project Purity and its effects on D.C. I'm pretty sure there is no mention of Project Purity in Fallout 4 from any NPC in the game; Not even Madison Li mentions it in Fallout 4 which also deeply confuses me. These observations lead me to ask the question:

How did such a large and successful project go unnoticed by all in the Commonwealth?

Did it fail shortly after being activated and was quickly covered up? Did the BoS decide to shut it off? Was this an oversight by the developer of Fallout?

I would like other peoples thoughts on this subject.

Most Hellish locations in the Fallout universe?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:22 PM PDT

Sometimes I like to think about the worst places we have seen in Fallout games. Excluding 1 and 2, and no places from 76 (I just started playing it); here are five of my top picks:

The Divide, The Glowing Sea, The Sierra Madre, Washington D.C., and Big MT. What does everyone think?

I Want To Alter the Game Files. How Difficult Would This Be?

    Posted: 11 Jul 2021 02:15 AM PDT

The one thing I hate about Fallout: New Vegas is that there is no sprint button.

I have downloaded mods off of Nexus in the past, just am not a big fan of the experience.

I want to double how fast I run in this game. I want your over encumbered walking speed to be how fast you walk in the vanilla game.

You can do this using console commands. Last time I tried, these affects go away once you close the game.

How hard would it be to alter the files themselves?

    Pipboys throughout the Fallout Games

    Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:32 AM PDT

Does Vault Tech decide the model of pipboy each area in the U.S gets? Like how in Fallout 4, every vault in the Boston area gets the PipBoy 3000 Mark IV. So is this the same case with South California getting the PipBoy 2000, Washington getting the Pipboy 3000 and West Virginia getting the Pipboy 2000VI? Or does every vault have access to all pipboy models that eventually get used over time?

Why is it even legal to sell fallout 3 and fallout 3 goty on steam

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:45 PM PDT

To give them credit fallout 3 has a disclaimer but their are both physically impossible to play without messing around with 3rd part stuff. I have not met a single person able to run them out of the box. People said cyberpunk shouldn't be sold because of its state but at least you can actually run it out the box.

If They Remaster Fallout: New Vegas, Would You Want Them To Add the Settlement System?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 11:18 PM PDT

The best part of Fallout 4 in my opinion is the settlement system. This is why I keep coming back to the game.

This system would be optional. None of the quest lines would be changed to involve it in some way.

I would not want them to add any new locations. Rather, they would use not as important locations.

    What do you think?

Is there any evidence of "gang" rivalries between different groups of supermutants?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:14 AM PDT

I know on the west coast super mutants were originally part of the Unity, but I'm not sure what happened after the Master died. On the east coast however, there were many different groups with different leaders. I know that they generally outcast intelligent super mutants but do these different groups ever have conflicts with each other? Or do they keep to themselves and stick up for each other? I know certain super mutant groups worked together like Hammer and Fist in 4.

How did the Master get to the Cathedral

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 01:36 PM PDT

Richard Grey got exposed into the VATS at Mariposa in 2102 and in 60 years is found as the master under the Cathedral. I always asked myself "How tf did the master get to the Cathedral?", did he borrow his way through the soil all the way across the wasteland? Did he ask some mutant to carry him in and mount him on the turret? Did he just slip part of his biomatter onto some dude and told them to yeet south and plant him there? Still somewhat confuses me

We've all done them thousands of times at this point, so why not convert them to a % chance pass or fail based on your perks and special stats?

    Vendors in Fallout 4

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:50 PM PDT

So I was selling some stuff and I had a thought. As you all know there are different kinds of vendors; armour, general, weapons, first aid E.T.C; and I was wondering if you got some sort of bonus for selling your stuff at specific vendors. For instance if you were to sell a 10mm pistol for 25 caps at a general store, could you sell it at the weapons vendor for 50 caps per se?

What are some things that you believe Fallout 3 does better than Fallout New Vegas?

    Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:12 AM PDT

Aside from the often praised apocalyptic atmosphere and really cool world space? Those two are pointed out a lot, and I'd be interested in hearing some other stuff.
