New player here, question about gun class

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:17 AM PDT

Does different gun types matter? Like is there a difference if I use shotgun vs rifle? I came from playing Skyrim, where a certain weapon class will gain experience from usage, does it apply to new Vegas as well?

How do I make NPC lips move faster as they talk?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:19 AM PDT

NPCs' lips are out of sync with their voices, the former moving way too slow. I remember editing something in an INI file the last time I played New Vegas which seemed to change how fast NPC lips moved, but I've unfortunately forgotten what it was, and I've already made a clean reinstallation, so the edit I made is lost already. Does anyone have any ideas on what setting I need to change? Thanks!

Weird Carry Weight drop in companions after leaving Vault 11

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:44 AM PDT

I should preface this by saying I am running most of Viva New Vegas' mods, save for the majority of the Overhaul mods, since I only got the game like two weeks ago and I didn't want to make it too hard for me.

So, yeah, just finished Vault 11, I have ED-E and Veronica with me with carry weights of 85 and 115 respectively (Veronica s wearing Brotherhood T-45d Power Armor) but as soon as I step out the door, their carry weight drops to 35 and 65 respectively! Taking of Veronica's power armor would drop it even further to 45, making her unable to put it back on again!

I can of course just work around it with console commands, but I'm intruiged as to why this might be happening. Is it because I had them both in the final room with me?

There Stands The Grass missing option?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 04:00 AM PDT

This is the first time when I completed this quest when going for independent NV and what struck me as odd is that there is no way to keep the data and lie to the NCR about it being lost (the only way is to not finish the quest). It's weird because it's a very logical choice to make when going for House / Yes Man routes. That way you can cut ties with the NCR and still have a steady supply of food. You can go against NCR in That Lucky Old Sun even though they're the quest givers, so it's not unprecedented in New Vegas. Also, lack of dev time couldn't have been the problem as all choices are just dialogue options.

EDIT: So to "solve" it canonically I just gave the NCR scientist the data and immediately killed him afterwards. Also, I shot at the terminal he used to "delete" it. Still, it would have been nice to have an actual option instead of having to heavily role play.

Found this vault! Very fun run so-far in VR using Vorpx and a few QOL mods.

Old world blues off Microsoft store?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:01 AM PDT

Every time I try to buy the FNV dlcs everything but the old world blues dlc is purchasable, and OWB is "not available" on xbox. How do I fix this?

Yesman ignoring, what does it do?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 02:52 AM PDT

Idk If I misunderstood dialogue, but if I don't ignore any factions (as its optional) does he kill them?

"Hey, that guy sounds familiar!" (small anecdote about voice actors and their work)

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 06:38 PM PDT

So, I was watching this movie a few hours ago (nothing to write home about, but it just works®) and there was this character, a cop or detective or something (I'm not good with details). The guy just sounded too familiar to me. So familiar, in fact, that after just a couple of lines I had to pause the movie and look him up. Well, lo and behold, it's played by an actor who voiced A LOT of characters in New Vegas: Gregory Alan Williams.

Gregory Alan Williams (born June 12, 1956) is an actor who voiced Bruce Isaac, The Lonesome Drifter, Cliff Briscoe, Corporal William Farber, Trent Bascom, Don Hostetler, Cook-Cook, Keith, George, Bill Ronte, Dead Sea, Severus, Karl, Mister Holdout, Greasy Johnny, and other minor characters in Fallout: New Vegas.

I was amazed because I usually can't recognize anything, anywhere.

Did something like this ever happened to you? (I know, probably).
