The Minutemen could've been so more interesting to play as.

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 02:06 PM PDT

As cool as the Minutemen are, playing as them is lacking a hell of a lot. Considering that your the leader, you'd think you'd be able to send some grunts to do the bitch work, but even when you've rebuilt them to their former glory, it's still just one guy (You) doing everything. Literally everything. The sad part is, is that it wouldn't have even been hard to make the Minutemen cool.

All you had to do is, after you retake the castle and reestablish the radio, make a craftable object, like a corkboard or something, that when you activate it, it pulls up a menu. It would list active settlements that are requesting help, other odd jobs, and the soilders you have available (taken from the inhabitants that currently reside in your castle). Each soilder has some randomly rolled special stats and you choose which ones you want to send on which jobs. The stats dictate what there chances of success on the mission. I've noticed that you can equip you settlers with equipment, so equipping them with better gear would up there chances. Successful missions up there stats and brings in caps and gear, and failure takes them out for a while and even chances losing them and the gear you gave them.

This would make it actually seem like your managing an army and making them stronger instead of you doing all the work and your solders are just window dressing. And this could all be done through a menu system that anyone semi skilled in coding could do. No additional models or animations needed. And there that just the basic idea of it. There's so much more you could add like assaults on the castle and group raids and things like that. Add the Nuka World DLC raider system into that and you can even do an evil version of it. The possibilities are wild.

Well… I just started Honest Hearts and it might be my favorite DLC now. Here’s why.

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 02:32 PM PDT

So I'm doing a replay of new Vegas. My goal was to get 100% which I am close to getting for the vanilla game, but am playing the DLC's for the first time ever (my goal isn't to 100% those, as much as it is experiencing them and coming back around again) because I wasn't able to buy them as a kid. Only thing is I couldn't get OWB off the Xbox shop. But before this becomes a nonsensical rambling, let me reel it in.

Anyways my main point is I'm Native American (Crow, Gros Ventre and Assiniboine from MT) and so I made my character look just like me and named him WolfWhoWalksAlone. Now I've never played honest hearts and just started 2 days ago, but when I met Follows Chalk, saw his apparel, and heard the way he talks I understood the Tribals at Zion are a nod at my culture. I really thought it was cool for my people to have a respectful nod our way in one of my favorite video games. It kind of feels like my Courier found his roots and is home at last. I'm finally in a place where other wastelanders share similar names to mine and share a tribal background. I think I'll stick around New Zion for awhile.

And if you guys are interested I'll show you a pic of my character compared to me so you can see our resemblance.

I love the tranquility lane quest

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 01:33 AM PDT

I don't know why but I just love this quest. I mean for the majority of the game, you're exploring this destroyed, irradiated wasteland and then you start this quest and you're in this beautiful street with happy and friendly people. Not the mention the cheery music that's being played in the background.

Potential bug trying to create an Assaultron in Fallout 4's Automatron DLC

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 03:47 AM PDT

I'm trying to build an Assaultron with the robot workbench, and everything is going fine until I get to the arms. For the head, torso and legs I have every option, but for the left arm I can only choose Protectron and Assaultron, and for the right I can only pick Protectron. I've tried saving and reloading and I've checked a few sites to see if they have any solutions but nothing's working.

Fallout 76: Anyone else on PC freezing when trying to leave a crafting station? [Windows 10, Bethesda launcher]

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 03:33 AM PDT

I'd post this on r/Fo76 but I got banned from there years ago. I bought a Fallout 1st sub so I can play on an empty server and am loving it, but wondering if anyone else is having this bug?

For a scam, there are a surprising amount of in tact Palowski Preservation Chambers two centuries after the nuclear holocaust

I think that vertibirds have hydrogen fueld turboprop engines.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 04:09 AM PDT

I mean they sound like they sound like there is something combustable in there. Also hydroben works on planes and it has almost the same btu per pound and it has higher octane but I am not sure that that is important in a turboprop. A nuclear engine i have to imagine would sound difrent. Also hydrogen can be made of water fairly easily espesially with bos technology. It also would make sense because when the railroad Gets the vertibird they say we fueled it up and now you can use it. Depending on what sort of nuclear engine it makes no sense to fuel it. If it was some sort of a turboprop nuclear ramjet engine well first of all that is a ridiculous idea because they weight tons and there was one prototype rocket and one extremely large airplane consept and neither of them could go airborne by themself if I recal correctly. Also I am pretty sure when they are don they are done and cannot be "refueled" Ok so if it is some sort of fusion engine that uses heavy water that sound much more realistic. But you have to remember that fusion reactors are so efficent that they would last much much longer than someone might expect. Infact if the BOS didn't build them themself then I dont think they needed to fuel their vertibirds.

Sorry for my english I have spoken english for only 7 years.

Also edit I am not a aviation engineer or in anyway very knowligable with millitary aviation.

Just beat dead money and snuck out with 37 gold bars (RANT, sort of)

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 08:27 PM PDT

Dead money was a drag, I thought the story was ok and the characters were great, but it was so friggin hard (I had difficulty set on v hard, not survival btw). But not hard in a good way, if that makes any sense. I can totally see the appeal, if your sick of shooting people and want something more like a puzzle, than this dlc is for you. The thing I didn't like is the linear aspect too, however I do have high hopes for the other dlcs since I have heard that they stick to the fallout format more. Also now I have 37 gold bars and I feel like a god, being able to buy all the gra guns and weapons of the new millennium guns is sick.

The Institute are so frustratingly vague.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 02:12 AM PDT

    Like, what are their goals?

Father keeps going on about "their vision of the future". how "synths are the future of humanity" despite insisting that they're not human. They straight up lie to you about so many of the events that have happened in the commonwealth, and they don't let you get any of the truth until you've already gone so far down their faction path that it cuts you off from the others.

I just had the talk with Father at CIT where he was "so disappointed" in me for not seeing things the institute way. Not understanding their goals or appreciating their vision of the future and it's like, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR GOALS EVEN ARE! They just state that what they're doing is for the good of humanity and refuse to say why, then expect you to just go along with it. Meanwhile their synths are ransacking towns, kidnapping people and being a general scourge on the commonwealth.

Like, can anyone here please explain to me what the institute actually want? Cause it clearly isn't to be left alone to research from how much interfering they do.

    Boone's Headtracking glitch appreciation thread

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 12:45 AM PDT

Seriously though, this is the best, stupidest accidental glitch ever.

Boone's headtracking is far more limited than any other NPC in New Vegas and he won't really react to the Courier unless the Courier is absolutely in his face, usually with a decent time delay of a second before he looks up.

This unintentionally adds to his brooding personality and makes it seem like he's constantly deep in thought or absolutely sick of the Courier's shit. Also tends to work well for people's playthrough vids of New Vegas and adds to the stupidity of some scenes.

God bless Boone and his dead wife + inability to turn his neck.

What would happen if you asked Yes Man if he can say no?

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 11:29 PM PDT

The fact that this dialog option does not exist disgusts me, he cant say "yes" as he'd be lying, he cant say no, because well, he cant say no.

That toaster and his nuke ammo?

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 05:55 PM PDT

I just jumped back into NV and one of the highlights I remember is the toaster of doom giving you ammo that triggered a nuke when it hit. I am at a complete loss as to what mod enabled that back in the day and after having compiled all the mods I remember using it is still absent. Am I just crazy for recalling something that never existed? Does anyone else remember that being a thing?

I've been using a .50 hunting rifle which seems to be doing alright, but I'm wondering if there are better options.

Is there a commie faction in fallout series?

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 11:35 PM PDT

You can’t mother everyone, Mother Gabriella.

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 02:09 PM PDT

I was really inspired by the lore of Vault 94, the pacifist vault that opened its doors to the wasteland just a year after the nukes dropped, so I drew this. I did not anticipate how fun drawing ghoul skin can get! Also had a lot of fun trying to come up with a background/color scheme for it all. Overall super happy with it (surprisingly so). I hope you guys like it too! I know it's a minor story in the grand scheme of things, and there's definitely worse experiments VT has done, but still. I liked it.

Special thanks to this channel for doing I depth lore videos, and to this artist on tumblr for explaining ghoul anatomy!

PS: For the record, I know nobody called Priest Salavar "Mother Gabriella", I'm just referencing pieta :,) (which is the inspo behind the pose as well lol)

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 04:58 AM PDT

I've done absolutely everything to fix the black screen I get when I launch fallout 4. I set my refresh rate to 60, capped my frames to 60, changed the .ini files. Can someone please help me with this? I have found no solution at all.
