Is the entire US a desert wasteland? Posted: 08 Jul 2021 10:00 PM PDT I read somewhere that according to the Fallout Bible, it was only the West Coast that was a Dry Desert and that most of the US was full of mutant flora, but Bethesdas Fallout suggests otherwise. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Jul 2021 08:13 PM PDT I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I'm asking it cause I haven't been able to find anything answering it. I know that there are some mutants like deathclaws and radscorpions that can reproduce(obviously), and I know that there are some mutants like super mutants that can't(even though they aren't "naturally mutated"). What happened to Europe in the Fallout Universe? Posted: 08 Jul 2021 06:00 AM PDT I'm not even new to fallout, far from new, but never understood what happened there. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Jul 2021 10:31 PM PDT I saw an image of fallout tactics that clearly shows planes and chinooks with what appears to be engines retrofitted into the back flying alongside the airships that they were using, is this cannon? [link] [comments] |
[meta]/r/falloutlore and non-game media. Posted: 08 Jul 2021 11:17 AM PDT Some may have heard of this, and some may not, but there is a new official Fallout game coming out this summer... but it's not a computer game. It's a table top roleplaying game. https://www.modiphius.net/pages/falloutrpg This is the only licensed tabletop RPG for Fallout, and it contains a whole lot of lore on the subject of Fallout, including prewar corporations, locations, and NPCs. Although it's focused primarily on Fallout 4's Boston, it looks like they have plans for additional supplements for other locations, and the lore could expand drastically. And, of course, there will be published adventures. Additionally, there has been announced a Fallout TV show on Amazon. It's still in the planning stages, so who knows whether we'll see it happen, but the RPG is definitely coming out later this month. So that brings up the question of how the lore of these new media will affect this subreddit. Is this subreddit going to remain dedicated strictly to in game lore as it has been in the past? Or will it expand to include RPG lore from supplements and published adventures? If we do expand to include these new media, will we need to differentiate between "levels" of canon a la Star Wars Legends vs Canon on wookieepedia? /r/Fallout2d20 links to this sub as a resource for game masters, so I think we can expect to see questions hoping to expand on RPG lore here. I feel like it might be a good idea to discuss how we as a subreddit are going to deal with that. I searched for a post on the subject hoping to join it, but couldn't find one, so I thought I'd start one. [link] [comments] |
Is there any reason why the nuke heading for Boston hit where it hit? Posted: 09 Jul 2021 12:59 AM PDT In the south west of the fallout 4 map you can find the crater of the nuke, witch we see in the intro. But why wouldn't they aim for downtown Boston. Are ICBMs that inaccurate, or was there a tactical reason for the location of detonation. [link] [comments] |
What did the Soviets do before the great war? Posted: 08 Jul 2021 09:32 AM PDT It's always confused me how the USSR didn't play a major role in the pre-war universe of fallout. You'd think that they would have SOMETHING to say about European intervention in the middle east, or perhaps taking advantage of a weakened America to consolidate gains in said nations? How far did the Scorched Plague reach? Posted: 08 Jul 2021 12:57 PM PDT Even as of Wastelanders, there are still active Scorched roaming Appalachia, as well as Scorchbeasts. Is there any in game lore as to how far they have managed to spread, and why it seems they are only found in Appalachia? Scorchbeasts could probably fly out of the bounds of the ingame map, easily crossing the Ohio river. [link] [comments] |
Is Dr. Blackburn a reference/parallel to the Master? Posted: 08 Jul 2021 11:22 AM PDT In the new 76 DLC the main antagonist is Dr. Blackburn, and he wants to "save" people by using a modified FEV virus to turn them into intelligent super mutants like the ones from the masters army. They even look like that, with the head shape. Is there any relation that I missed, or just wishful thinking. [link] [comments] |
Where did the Bobrov brothers come from? Posted: 09 Jul 2021 12:56 AM PDT Is it possible that somewhere in post-apocalyptic America, in the years leading up to 2287, there could exist an isolated enclave of Russian speakers? It seems more likely than a trans-oceanic voyage. Vadim Bobrov uses a couple of Russian words, and the grammatical mistakes that both brothers make are typical of someone who learned English later in life. All signs seem to suggest that the brothers grew up speaking Russian exclusively, or almost exclusively. What do you make of it? [link] [comments] |
