How does Institute teleportation and the method of smuggling synths work, anyway? Posted: 24 Jul 2021 08:45 AM PDT So Liam Benet explains that he forges work orders to get synths sent to the surface, then they just don't come back. Nick Valentine says that there's some kind of programming that blocks him from being able to remember anything about the Institute, this programming seems to apply to 3rd gen synths too. Finally, the Railroad doesn't know about the teleporter for some reason. Here's the problem: how do the escaped synths not know about the teleporter (because none of them have revealed its existence to the railroad)? If they suddenly forget it's existence when they hit the surface, how do they "remember" to radio back to be sent back once the work is done? I don't see how every escaped synth would just choose to not tell the railroad how they got out of the Institute. One escaped synth that we help even remembers being in the Institute and treated like a robot, so why does he not remember the teleporter? If they do forget, then someone in the Institute must be manually calling them back via the synth component in their head, right? But if they are able to do that, why can't they just call back every escaped synth at once? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2021 06:48 PM PDT Given that the Modified FEV kills mutated humans who have lived around the wastes , but wouldn't kill vault dwellers would the BOS from fallout 1 be effected by the modified FEV or been completely fine? They mainly stayed in their bunker and when did leave they were in power armor. So would they be have enough radiation for the Modified FEV to kill them? [link] [comments] |
What is the current status of the NCR-BOS war? And why don’t the Lost Hills chapter just flee east? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 02:04 AM PDT Is it still ongoing, but they've reached an impasse because the NCR can't infiltrate Lost Hills and the BOS is stuck? I've always assumed that the NCR is just waiting them out because they'd lose a tremendous amount of manpower if they decide to outright attack the base. And the BOS couldn't leave because the NCR is probably watching the area closely. But it's been a long while now, what happens if a group of BOS members just saunters out of the base whistling with their hands in their pockets? Is it a shoot on sight? The NCR probably had the surrounding area heavily occupied during the war and a bit after it, but with the problems they face now(overstretched) can they even afford to keep such a large amount of their forces just guarding Lost Hills? I know there's a lot of unknown info regarding this, but I haven't played the OG Fallout games, and haven't played FNV in a while so maybe I'm forgetting something. Also, the east coast chapter seems to be doing great, and are actually building and expanding. Would the Lost hills chapter leave if they could? Or do they have some prideful connection to lost hills? I mean it is where Roger Maxson built the BOS, but if they head east, they can do something other than sit with their thumbs up their asses with Arthur's chapter. Even if their ideologies differ slightly, I'm sure both chapters can reach a compromise. Besides, the core beliefs are the same. [link] [comments] |
Do we know what chem effects look like to observers? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 01:30 AM PDT Obviously to us buffout gives you endurance and psycho makes you do damage (and scream) but what would a chem addict look like if I saw one on the street, and would I be able to tell what kind of chem someone was using at a given time based on visual cues? Like jet giving the shakes, etc. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 02:11 AM PDT What is so important about the Construction and assembly Mobile Platform? I don't see how dwellers couldn't build anywhere else, why is it required (except for workshops)? [link] [comments] |
